Baubles and I are meeting for coffee, or perhaps early lunch at the Art Gallery on the Mound on 1st March (a Friday). Who would like to join us?

Elegran Sun 17-Feb-19 08:53:13

I'd join you for lunch but can't make coffee. Could be there about 12.30, maybe earlier if I skip out early from art group. Would that do?

Marelli Sun 17-Feb-19 09:16:35

Elegran, that would be fine - we'll make it 12.30.
I'll get a table booked as soon as we have an idea of how many are coming. It'll be a week on Friday, so not much time. ?

Marelli Sun 17-Feb-19 09:49:29

So far, we have

Elegran
Baubles
Ina
Marelli (me).

I would have loved to have joined you all however DH and I are in Glasgow celebrating my 65th birthday - sorry. Hope you all have a good time though.

Marelli Sun 17-Feb-19 10:49:22

That's a shame, Brunette10, but have a lovely time for your birthday, and we'll see you next time. xx

Marelli Sun 17-Feb-19 11:19:23

Bump.

Jane10 Sun 17-Feb-19 11:34:43

Oh no! I'm torn. Friday morning is my yoga class. Its purgatory but good for me. I know I have to do it but would like to skive it. But I shouldn't. I know I shouldn't. Round and round I go! But lunch...Oh...

Elegran Sun 17-Feb-19 12:09:26

What time does your yoga class finish? Could you get there by 12.30? How about leaving class a bit early - would you get a demerit mark?

Katek Sun 17-Feb-19 12:50:36

Oh I would have loved to come seeing as how I missed the last do, but I don’t think the shoulder would travel too well at the moment! I’m def down at end of May so perhaps we can arrange something nearer the time. I hear St Andrews calling as well.....!!

cascats Sun 17-Feb-19 12:58:14

Please can you add me on.
Katek, St Andrews sounds good as well.

Marelli Sun 17-Feb-19 13:19:56

Katek, sorry you can't make it for Edinburgh, but St Andrews sounds good (hope I'm free for that... love the fish and chips). Lovely that you can join us, Cascats.
We are now:

Elegran
Baubles
Marelli
Ina
Cascats
(possibly Jane10)

Jane10 Sun 17-Feb-19 14:56:34

There's only 5 of us in the yoga class. Not easy to sneak out of even if I could manage to get up off the floor unobtrusively!
I suppose I could join you if you didn't mind a red faced person in dodgy exercise gear!

Grammaretto Sun 17-Feb-19 14:59:08

No sorry. I'm teaching that week.
Bother. Another time?

Elizabeth1 Sun 17-Feb-19 15:28:42

Holiday time for me and DH have a lovely meet up all you lovely people.

baubles Sun 17-Feb-19 15:37:55

Always room for a red faced person in dodgy exercise gear Jane10 grin

Elegran Sun 17-Feb-19 16:02:04

That could describe any of us, Jane

Marydoll Sun 17-Feb-19 16:24:28

Posssibly me. I'm waiting for a hospital appointment for the day ward, I know it will be a Friday and very soon.
Could you please make me *maybe aye or maybes naw".

I would love to come, so here's hoping. I will let you know as soon as I can.

Marelli Sun 17-Feb-19 16:55:38

Jane10 it will be lovely to have you there. Red-faced and dodgy exercise gear, regardless. ☺️
Marydoll, hopefully we'll see you, there.
Grammaretto, there'll surely be another meetup again, soon!
(... and Elizabeth1 - you just lie back in the sun with your vino ☀️??!)

The Scottish Gallery Restaurant is closed. It closed in January as there's all sorts of building work going on there. I just checked!

Marelli Sun 17-Feb-19 19:19:33

Oh no!! What shall we do? Have you any ideas, Jane?

cascats Sun 17-Feb-19 19:48:54

Waverley? or are we looking for something more informal?

Jane10 Sun 17-Feb-19 20:49:26

I suppose we could just have a bar lunch in the Old Waverley lounge bar? Otherwise there are the restaurants on St Andrews Square. The Ivy, Dishoom etc but very expensive and not necessarily very informal.

weenanni59 Sun 17-Feb-19 20:54:25

I will be in Edinburgh that weekend and would love to come ?

MarionHalcombe Sun 17-Feb-19 20:56:57

Good Evening all. ?. I'm hijacking slightly, well not slightly at all really. Dh and I are in your beautiful city for the weekend for our wedding anniversary tomorrow. We are both vegetarian and had booked in at David Bann for a celebratory meal. However we went for brunch today and weren't really impressed by the service and atmosphere . Any recommendations for a Monday night? We'd rather have a limited choice with good food and a lovely night than lots of choice but not enjoy ourselves as much. Thanks for any thoughts and sorry for the hijack.
