Wokingham meet up

I am up for a Meet-up at the end of Sept/ Oct, heath permitting!
I quite like Squires for their more comfy seats, but the service can be exceedingly slow...(thinking Acorn Antiques).
Hopefully road works will not interfere.

Glad you are OK for a meet upAuntieflo all being well. I agree about Squires which I believe can be approached from your end; it is the NMR end which is a problem but maybe we can use Honey Hill. I don’t know Acorn Antiques but I see it was written by Victoria Wood so would have been funny I’m sure.

I am sure I can be available at the end of September or early October. Having got stuck in the queues caused by road closures, I later found out that I could have found an easier route to Squires. It's do-able from Sandhurst!

Just a few dates to play around with. How about Friday 20th September, Tuesday 1st October or Wednesday 9th October? Are any of these dates suitable?

I would love to see you all again - at the moment any of the suggested dates are fine with me. FYI - Honey Hill is open as an alternative to Heathlands Road currently closed.

Unfortunately, I cannot make our meeting next week. My husband has medical issue so it will be the Royal Berks instead. Fingers crossed for the next meet up - if you dont give up on me! Enjoy yourselves. x

That’s good Deedaa . Just a gentle reminder of our meet up at Squires a week yesterday (9th)and to extend an invitation to anybody else who would care to join us. You will be more than welcome. I will have to brave the new Cali non roundabout junction ( have you seen it on the national news- total confusion?) as my other route is closed. Looking forward to seeing you all about 10.30 ish.

Have you used it yet Auntieflo? Nobody seems to know who has the right of way. At the junction I will have to negotiate three lots of pedestrian crossings to get to NMR (can’t call them zebras because they are leaves and not stripes!!) Except that if I can go straight across I will miss them all but then I will meet other traffic coming across from the other direction. Best not to think about it. Will your journey be OK as DiL said Star Lane crossing was closed last time she tried to use it?

Nooooo, haven't used it yet, as no need to go that way, yet.
As to the Star Lane crossing, I hadn't remembered that, so will have to find another route. 🤞
