Hi I have set up an e-petition for the above. Basically, Responsible department: Department for Work and Pensions

During 1961-1975/78 the Graduated Pension Scheme was in force, everyone whose salary was £9pw or more paid into this scheme.

However working women were discriminated against then and now as pensioners.

Men paid £7.50 for one unit of Graduated Pension.

Women paid £9.00 for the exact same one unit.

Graduated Retirement Benefit/Pensions to be recalculated using the same formula of £7.50 for one unit for women and backdated to when they first started receiving their pensions.

To be carried out before the next financial year, or by March 2015.

Click here to be taken to petition or cut and paste into your google search:

epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/69743

If it receives 100,000 signatures this then would be discussed in the house of commons.

Thank you

Yes, I've signed, Autumn52. I remember a group of us in the '70s querying why we paid more than our male colleagues, and we were told it was because we would be retiring 5 years earlier. Ever been had?! smile

This is interesting information of which I was unaware. Have you contacted the Fawcett Society who tackle inequality on pay and pensions etc. www.fawcettsociety.org.uk/
Please also sign the pensions petition
you.38degrees.org.uk/p/statepensionlaw
which is being handed in on Tuesday, 24 March at 1pm.
