Thought I would post this up for those of us who are hoping for the stamina to stay up!

nightowl Fri 08-May-15 08:31:14

Why are you trying to be so provocative jo1book? There's such a thing as being gracious in victory as well as in defeat. You demean yourself by this sniping.

POGS Fri 08-May-15 08:35:13

Well I have been up all night and it has been fascinating to watch.

Big beast after big beast fell and now the biggest of them all.

You can carry on with your open comments of dislike for the conservatives and apportioning blame to try and make it everything and everybody else's fault but the truth is the silent voter has made their choice.

jo1book Fri 08-May-15 08:35:37

Ed Balls gone! This is better than sex! I will really miss the Wallace and Gromit cartoons though. I wonder who will replace all these lost men? Harriet Harman is an acceptable face of socialism. It will be interesting to see how many of these left-wingers will take well pain jobs in commerce or industry. Turning to the Dark Side. What a hoot.

J52 Fri 08-May-15 08:37:24

50% of the Scottish population voted for SNP, 31% voted for a variety of other parties, 29% didn't vote.

Bring on proportional representation. Just saying. X

merlotgran Fri 08-May-15 08:40:27

Good result!

Empty vessels make the most sound. The silent voter has spoken.

J52 Fri 08-May-15 08:41:47

Sorry, maths and fat finger not good this morning19% not voted! X

rosesarered Fri 08-May-15 08:44:11

Yes, no doubt Ed Balls will get a well paid job in business now, he will then earn much more than he does now, but won't have the power he hoped to have.
as you say POGS, the silent voters have made their choice and that's it.I have a feeling that there will be lots of G'netters who are celebrating today, that don't ever post a comment on the political threads.

merlotgran Fri 08-May-15 08:45:51

Well I've just posted one grin

Too early for wine

Stansgran Fri 08-May-15 08:46:52

Roll on proportional representation. I agree with Granny twice that Labour took Scotland for granted. Ditto the north east. And perhaps that 20 year old who took Gordon Brown s seat might turn up in Parliament than just taking the salary and glowering in a corner. I think the country has seen that we are in better nick as a business and voted for the business suits.

jo1book Fri 08-May-15 08:49:26

Merlotgran. So agree about empty vessels. Most of them banging on the empty drum of hope exceeding experience.

rosesarered Fri 08-May-15 08:52:07

Is it really too early for wine Merlot?Ok then let's celebrate with brewand cupcake grin

kittylester Fri 08-May-15 08:53:37

Far north, that was an uncalled for personal attack on Jo1book and very judgmental!

And your post could easily refer to Labour voters! angry

durhamjen Fri 08-May-15 08:54:02

Did any of you see Nick Robinson's assessment of Ed Balls after the result? According to him Ed Balls was the best economist in the Houses of Parliament, so it wasn't the economy, stupid.

durhamjen Fri 08-May-15 08:56:54

Kitty, have you actually read jo1book's comments on Labour voters?

POGS Fri 08-May-15 08:57:32

Well I guess if proportional representation came in then UKIP would be ahead of the SNP.

POGS Fri 08-May-15 08:59:11

There are still 16 seats to win for the conservatives, funny things happen.

FarNorth Fri 08-May-15 09:00:11

Nasty, unnecessary, uncalled for? Yes, all those descriptions apply to jo1book's recent posts.

rosesarered Fri 08-May-15 09:00:12

Kittylester, well said, I agree with you.Perhaps we have to make allowances though, as the left leaning G'netters are bound to be feeling very sore this morning.I hope they would be as gracious to us, if Ed Milliband had won,?

durhamjen Fri 08-May-15 09:00:21

Would PR mean that the SNP could have candidates in the whole of the UK?
Otherwise it would not be fair on the SNP.

POGS Fri 08-May-15 09:00:31

Hmm. Con gain Derby North from Labour.

whitewave Fri 08-May-15 09:01:18

Nothing is for ever

FarNorth Fri 08-May-15 09:01:36

POGS, you're forgetting that the SNP didn't have any candidates out with Scotland.

POGS Fri 08-May-15 09:03:42

Hmm 15 now a conservative gain at Derby North from Labour. Who'da thunk it.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 08-May-15 09:08:13

The only thing that worries me now is the thought of an EU referendum. But perhaps the Great British Public are not so daft after all. All could still be well. sunshine

gillybob Fri 08-May-15 09:09:19

Glad to hear it Scooter58 smile
