Thought I would post this up for those of us who are hoping for the stamina to stay up!

soontobe Fri 08-May-15 01:39:09

I have never been asked. But I live very rurally, so most unlikely they would come here. I dont think I would tell them either!

I need to go to bed for a couple of hours.

POGS Fri 08-May-15 01:39:20

Obviously I didn't mean giving interviews now, I should have said on occasion.

Maggiemaybe Fri 08-May-15 01:39:57

durhamjen. I hate predictive text!

GrannyTwice Fri 08-May-15 01:40:44

Thanks Pogs

An interesting live blog on at the moment. How did Lord Ashcroft get it so wrong is the latest comment.

POGS Fri 08-May-15 01:43:00

Your welcome!

durhamjen Fri 08-May-15 01:44:08

Their live update figures do not look so bad for Labour.

soontobe Fri 08-May-15 01:53:12

Labour not caring about the economy is a bit harsh.
I would say that it does not care enough.
I think that Britain should be run like a business. Together with looking after everyone.
I dont think that Labour cares about the business side enough.

dj - I did say somewhere that I dont have much doubt that newspapers are biased towards the tories.
I now know more about non doms than I did. Still dont see much wrong about them, but I could be wrong about that.

RT - is a weird channel. But it does give a different side to some of the news that comes out of the USA.

rl - they go by predictions.
So, in simpler terms, if at the beginning of the evening, it looked like 10% of voters had switched from Labour to Conservative, then they give predictions based on that for all the 650 seats or whatever.
So the 10% swing as it is called, would not affect some safe Labour seats, such as those that were declared in Sunderland, as they would and did stay Labour.
But later in the night, those seats which currently have much less of a labour majority could be in big trouble.
So so far, it is mainly very safe labour seats which have declared.

POGS Fri 08-May-15 01:56:04

Brilliant, conservative Marcus Jones has Nuneaton seat. A key Labour marginal to win.

He is a good, hard working MP . Nuneaton George Elliot hospital was in the top 10 worst hospitals, now thank goodness over the past 5 years it has turned around and has gained a good reputation.

rubylady Fri 08-May-15 01:58:34

But how can people vote for a man who makes rules that result in a woman throwing herself in front of a train because she can't pay her bedroom tax?
And let a man starve to death because they cut his benefits altogether and he just starved to death behind his own front door. Inhuman.

rubylady Fri 08-May-15 02:03:40

Thank you soontobe, you do seem to know a lot about it so I may need you again. smile

durhamjen Fri 08-May-15 02:06:03

According to the latest CQC report, George Eliot hospital still requires improvement.

POGS Fri 08-May-15 02:09:47

rubylady

I could counteract your post by asking why did Labour and Andy Burnham let my mother suffer in hospital so badly !

Everybody has a story!

rubylady Fri 08-May-15 02:22:00

POGS - It seems like you did counteract my post.

POGS Fri 08-May-15 02:22:29

Flipping heck wee Dougy Alexander gone!

rubylady Fri 08-May-15 02:22:59

I suppose mine wasn't personal to me, reported in the media.

POGS Fri 08-May-15 02:29:44

Looking like a white wash as predicted for Labour in Scotland !

Some big beasts yet to be announced though.

Maggiemaybe Fri 08-May-15 02:30:46

Ah well, off to get some sleep, thoroughly dispirited by the Scottish results.

durhamjen Fri 08-May-15 02:35:18

This could explain a lot.

soontobe Fri 08-May-15 02:42:15

I was rather astounded, on the thread about tactical voting, just how many said no on gransnet to tactical voting.
Maybe tactical voting did play a part with voters today.

Teetime Fri 08-May-15 02:42:34

Hallo - just got up for some tea. Well it all looks depressing- another five years of a Try government. I am genuinely very very sorry and worried for the poor and vulnerable of this country and heaven above knows what will happen to the NHS now. Ed Milliband has got to go!!

POGS Fri 08-May-15 02:42:50

Far too early to play the blame game or make excuses for a poor show.

The night is young and can turn on a sixpence.

janerowena Fri 08-May-15 02:45:29

I'm watching on this

www.theguardian.com/politics/ng-interactive/2015/may/07/live-uk-election-results-in-full

It's better for my blood pressure than trying to watch it on tv at this time of night.

POGS Fri 08-May-15 02:49:03

Out of interest I am flitting between channels 3/4/130 and 132, so far I am finding Sky 132 the quickest for results and coverage. Which do you prefer?

POGS Fri 08-May-15 02:50:29

Jo Swinson gone!

I actually feel sorry for Lib Dems
