A minister if health who is a doctor, a minister of education who must also be a teacher or lecturer . A minister of defence who must have served in the armed forces. A minister of environment who must also be a farmer, work in the met office and at least own an allotment. Minister of foreign affairs who must be fluent in at least a dozen languages .

We have a chancellor of the exchequer who has a degree in modern history !

Well that's the Health minister and the Education minister out then. Health workers, nurses and doctors have said they do not support the present health minister and teachers are the same about the Education minister.

Should he have sung the National Anthem? What happens if he represents our country abroad, will he ask for the Red Flag to be played?

I was meaning the current 2 Tory ministers, who seem to be undermining rather than supporting the workers ( but that's a thread drift, sorry!)

I don't suppose the younger generation are fretting much about if he sang the National Anthem I would imagine there are a lot who don't even know the words!

Nor mine Anniebach. Nor did many of the children I used to teach (or their parents for that matter). Maybe it is outdated and something we will be abandoning. After all it isn't played in cinemas or when TV shuts down (if it ever does) any more.

I don't agree that it is the sole responsibility of Ministers to support the workers in their Departments.
That's why we have Trades Unions.

As far as I can tell, it is the responsibility of Ministers to oversee the whole Department.
eg the Minister of Education should work for the benefit of all who are associated with education and to make sure that the taxpayer gets value for money by spending the money allocated wisely; to introduce measures which they feel will advance the cause of education, give children opportunities through education and to ensure Britain's future as a country to be able to compete in the future in world markets.
They should be ensuring they are doing their best not just for the workforce but for pupils and their parents - and the taxpayer.

I thought so whitewave , he handle it really well, calm , with dignity , no attacking and wasting time, sensible questioning I also liked him bringing the public into the questions

I think he was given quite an easy ride - it will be interesting to see what happens when the usual childish cat calling and heckling start.

That's not to say I don't think he could deal with it - just that it will be interesting!

DC will have real difficulty keeping his Bullingdon club persona under wraps for the next 5 years, which will look so tacky when he eventually releases it in front of such a nice chap like JC.

I think it is much more difficult to cat call if you are replying to Gail or Stephen's questions Sunseeker; all the MPs will have Gails or Stephens in their constituency. I am sure that they will be able to refine this questioning but I did think Cameron was holding himself back. In every PMQs I watch to see when he turns towards the speaker rather than the Labour benches and starts to flush - usually this means he will loose it a little but he did manage to hold on today.

No question's asked that related to the defence of the realm, Immigration /Asylum mayhem/ The EU which are questions one would have thought the Opposition benches may have asked.

I think the fact Corbyn asked questions of a more low key level and did not engage with Cameron on a personal level but asked questions from members of the public did not work for me.

PMQ's is the opportunity for the Opposition Leader to rally his party, ask difficult questions of the government I saw no spark ,no policy thinking, no sign of Corbyn wanting to make his stamp nor show what HE thinks, I do know what Steve and Debbie think however.

I agree with those who will like the fact Corbyn wanted a different, inclusive PMQ'S he achieved his objective. However it gave Cameron the chance to answer with his policies and never really challenged.

I thought that Corbyns performance at PMQ's was fair, but nothing more.It was his first time in that seat, so he may improve.
questions from 'Gayle' or 'Steve' will get ridiculous if it goes on week after week.He has to put forward his own Party's questions, otherwise it will look very weak. his performance allowed Cameron to 'puff' his own Party's agenda and performance. the SNP looked foolish, not coming up with any examples of where the Tories had failed Scotland ( we know they simply want even more powers.) The DUP MP made a telling comment about the new shadow chancellor and his IRA remarks( now come back to bite him on the bum, and quite rightly so) the House was so quiet at that, you could have heard a pin drop!

It's good that PMQ's is slightly less of a bear garden, but it does still need some cut and thrust.
