You didn't think I would ignore this did you?

durhamjen Mon 13-Jun-16 13:06:53

What obvious reasons, jingl?

practical Mon 13-Jun-16 13:07:25

How the EU began

As a politically interested person I have become "switched off" by the debate on here as it seems to have become an exclusive argument amongst a few regular posters. sad Incidentally how do you know they're "girl" bullies Firecracker?

harrigran Mon 13-Jun-16 13:10:25

School girl bullies Firecracker123, I had something more grown up in mind rhymes with govern but begins with C.

The reason is obvious to me, dj: you told someone to go away. Elsewhere you said you someone "had better stay out of it" meaning off the thread. It's out of order as well as being rude.

you

This is interesting. Whether we are in or out of the EU would mke no difference to whther young people would be able to get on the housing ladder. The EU has no control over housing supply.

Ana Mon 13-Jun-16 13:35:49

And you made a pointed comparison between a current poster and one who no longer posts durhamjen - surely that's against GN rules?

Ceesnan Mon 13-Jun-16 13:43:23

Double, double, toil and trouble indeed! I love Gransnet!

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 13-Jun-16 13:47:33

I'm going to see The Scottish Play at the Globe on Saturday. smile

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 13-Jun-16 13:49:03

It was the whole tone of the post jd, and the name mention.

Gracesgran Mon 13-Jun-16 13:50:40

How anyone can bring a Kinnock in as a plus I'll never know.

Not understanding another's point of view is always a problem for some practical

Gracesgran Mon 13-Jun-16 13:53:51

The reason is obvious to me, dj: you told someone to go away. Elsewhere you said you someone "had better stay out of it" meaning off the thread. It's out of order as well as being rude.

This from someone who thought it was OK for a whole thread to exclude just some people and endorsed the thread when the comment "You're trespassing" appeared.shock

durhamjen Mon 13-Jun-16 13:57:44

OKay, jingl. I was just fed up of being accused of being misleading, that's all. Still no answer.

Yes, Gracesgran, nothing wrong with a Kinnock. Stephen Kinnock is a very good speaker, with lots of interesting ideas. He answers questions intelligently and directly, unlike many MPs.

Ceesnan Mon 13-Jun-16 14:00:32

Hope you enjoy it Jingle, it's one of my favourites.

Brilliant from Hilary Benn. "We have moved from the Age of Empire to the Age of Influence. That's why we should remain."

practical Mon 13-Jun-16 14:23:59

Gracesgran you never spoke a truer word.

harrigran Mon 13-Jun-16 14:38:52

Enjoy the play jingle, have never been to the Globe but my sister really enjoyed it.

thatbags Mon 13-Jun-16 14:46:43

Not exclude, gg, just not argue, as a favour, and when it was decided that practical's request (it wasn't my request) was not allowable, I accepted that and continued to post on the thread.

thatbags Mon 13-Jun-16 14:53:25

PS I don't recall the trespassing comment at all. Will have a look. I think a misinterpretation mistakenly might have happened.

Why we should stay in the EU.

thatbags Mon 13-Jun-16 15:02:43

OK, yes, definitely a misnterpretation, gg, not by me. I 'endorsed' the thread, as you put it, in the second post. The second post in the entire thread. When the trespassing post appeared, a comment by me did not appear until (if my counting is correct) forty-seven posts later. Thereafter I argued as devil's advocate in favour of the original request which, remember, was not my idea.

So, yeah, I think there has been a bit of confusion somewhere along the line in your remembering. It's easily done, so no worries smile

Jalima Mon 13-Jun-16 15:39:00

If the Tory government had not been voted in we wouldn't be in this position
I read somewhere (was it in the Independent?) that, had Ed Miliband promised a referendum as many in his party were pressurising him to do, he would have probably won the election and Ed Balls would not have lost his seat?

Jalima Mon 13-Jun-16 15:40:17

Didn't finish post:
Ergo, had Ed promised a referendum, we may have had a Labour Government and would be facing a referendum anyway.

Ana Mon 13-Jun-16 15:42:55

And Corbyn would still be on the backbenches, presumably sticking to his anti-EU principles!
