I have done hours of research and if we vote stay in then Junker ect will clamp down immediately and we will have the euro which is a failing currency already plus we will have no protection against flooding the country with immigrants.

People have been asked not to post on this thread if they believe we should stay in the EU - however many who think we should leave are still posting on the other threads and no one has actually asked them to stop.
I am interested that you think the EU residents here will be able to remain - if we do exit then the health rights of EU citizens are likely to be withdrawn and probably some if not all of the benefits they could be entitled to so many will probably need to leave over these issues.
The same will be the case for Brits living in the EU unless the reciprocal agreement carries on - so many mainly older Brits will be returning and taking up any slack in the housing market and health service left by EU migrants - so worry not - your beds and doctors surgeries will still be full to overflowing and social housing full but then by British nationals who are too old to work although some may still contribute to the tax system - unless of course by then you class returning Brits as immigrants!!

Howzat! Oh well held sir roses <should have gone to Specsavers>

The thing that people don't seem to have understood is that we don't wish to argue, welshwife. The other EU ref threads are for arguing on, by innies and outies both.
This one is just for the comfort of Outies smile. Peace and goodwill flowers

thatbags Sat 04-Jun-16 10:35:22

Like Soop's Kitchen being for people who don't want to argue. I though that since the concept had been accepted there, there would be no harm in a similar, temporary thread for outies who feel too bombarded on the argument threads.

granjura Sat 04-Jun-16 10:35:27

I thought the terms were very appropriate for those constantly talkinng about 'Sovereignty' and closing borders ;)

granjura Sat 04-Jun-16 10:36:00

I'll get my rain coat and go and clean that patio, hey smile

thatbags Sat 04-Jun-16 10:36:25

No it's Dodgy Dave and Ordinary Mike.

Jezza was also called Jelly as a child going to prep school. So I am sure he won't mind.

rosesarered Sat 04-Jun-16 10:43:43

Prep school? very elitist.grin I like Jelly, good name, it wobbles.

You have to laugh...... On the IN EU thread ( or what they fondly like to think of as the IN thread) GracesGran states ( with no hint of irony) how nice it is, now that there is nobody trying to derail their discussion, and wondering if they could have separate threads on politics after the referendum as well! after coming onto this thread and giving trenchant views. having their cake and eating it springs to mind

I will now totally disregard any sense of apartheid as requested by the so called "out" clique. How dare you think you know my mind and repeat details from one thread to one you feel you have banned others from.

I do not see any thread as an "in" thread: I would not be so childish. My comments were a joke between Jen and myself, at the expense of those who cannot join in the general threads I must admit but mainly because I cannot believe GNHQ has let this happen. How ridiculous - as I was making clear - it would be to have "only left wing" and "only right wing" threads for elections. You all seem to totally disregard the "undecided" and the "I would like to hear more". I both gave my view on this type of thread much earlier on here and I reported it to GNHQ as I feel it is totally outside what I believed GN stands for. More than anything I feel your post totally disregards what GNHQ said "We've said it before and we know most of you do this anyway, but please be respectful of each other's views, even if you don't share them." You seem to have no respect for those who do not share your views Roses

As you have now re-introduced someone you - it appears - were trying to exclude I see no reason for anyone giving the so called "outers" the space they asked for. Please post for, against or whatever against the argument and leave the people alone. This is not the first time you have tried to be unkind to me but none of it improves your argument.

I have some strawberry jelly in the cupboard, it will be nice with ice cream or even better custard.....comfort food!

rosesarered Sat 04-Jun-16 10:47:39

Never short of a word or two I see.

trisher Sat 04-Jun-16 10:51:34

This seems to becoming a thread about a thread with all the references to the "In" thread. Shall I report it? No CBA, comfort each other if you must.

rosesarered Sat 04-Jun-16 10:52:18

I have not banned anyone from this thread GG and I said you will be along here shortly ( and indeed you were).
I have respected the views of others regarding the referendum and repeatedly asked the Remain camp to be a bit politer to those who are in the Leave camp ( to no avail).

rosesarered Sat 04-Jun-16 10:55:01

Now, shall we all be nice to one another?

I wish to make some comment. I was wavering, in one day and out the next. However certain things have swayed me. I am hopeless at dates so will just refer to "back in the day". Back in the day before we joined the EU, we were known as the sick man of Europe. Our economy is now booming, and although we have a way to go till we all feel this, I recently visited Greece and would not like us to experience another recession like they seem to be enduring. I have lived through two recessions. Do you remember when things were so bad, people were having to leave their homes and post the keys through the door. It was heartbreaking. After the recent banking crisis, I would not want this country, particularly the young people, to have to experience a recession with lost jobs and the misery that brings. Even the out campaigners say that if we come out we will experience a recession. Another thing that I think will happen is that as the eu is so wobbly at the moment, if we come out they will act in their political interest and not economic interest and make high tariffs for us. They would want to send a message to other countries that in was better than out. One final point, and there are loads, is that newer entry countries will grow stronger. Poland is growing stronger already. These countries will then be more of an asset and good trading partners. So, especially in the interest of my two 30 something children, I am voting IN.

thatbags Sat 04-Jun-16 11:10:19

Ah well, nice try, practical, but as predicted, doomed from the start.
