although Djen has unreliably informed us on t'other thread that the Remain vote poll is for 79% so maybe I will put the drumsticks and champagne on ice for a while.

Ha, ha - wonder which poll that is? Rather an incredible increase since a couple of days ago!

I trawled every website I could find and the only reference to 79% was the number of Germans who think we should remain.

Interested to hear Gove admit that if we leave there will definately be job losses. Actually he will then kill immigration as well as the economy will be contracting as so no jobs available. Easy peasy really.

Gove would not 'kill' immigration, that is very OTT, anyone from the EU already working here could stay, and there will still be immigration for years to come, but hopefully controllable.

well roses- I have agreed to the request not to post here- and will not post re the referendum But truly you can't expect to quote and discuss people on another thread, especially in person- and expect them not to respond.

My point rose which you haven't got is that contacting economy = job losses -a point conceded by Gove.
Job losses = less immigration.

Good article by Matthew Parris today in the Times (best place for arguments in favour of Remain and Brexit, I have found). It's about general gloom and doom nonsense but I liked this bit in particular:

The roof won't fall in if we leave and Brussels won't occupy Britain if we stay. Should we walk away I think Britain might struggle a bit but I don't know and nor do you, and anyway the sun will still rise and we'll plough on."

Britain's "struggling a bit" already and will continue to struggle a bit whatever the result of the referendum is. As will every other country in the world.

Sorry I can't supply a link to the whole article, which is worth a read for reasons other than his no nonsense approach to the EU cuffuffle. I should be able to supply a link that would be live for a week but I can't. I have complained.

Contracting the economy wouldn't happen.EU workers making money here will hardly pack up and go home .There MAY be some job losses ( but if we stay in then there will certainly be loads of losses from the steel plant in Wales.)

Right- will try to make it last post here- as said, I've tried to abide by request. I personally think it is divisive to have threads for small cliques- but if it is what some want, I'll go with it.

However, a separate thread for, as this case OUT only- should not mention people in person and directly challenge what is said elsewhere- as if this happens, it is only fair for those mentionned, or comments challenged to be responded to, surely.

So stick to comments in favour of OUT - standing on their own- otherwise it jsut can't work.

As the other thread is open to all, IN or OUT, then it is fair that all points of views are aired there.

Matthew Paris is a very insightful writer.I agree with him, and although I would like us to leave the EU, shall not have a nervous breakdown if we don't.Nor should anybody.
Of course we would stand on our own feet as a country, we always have done ( for a long long time) unless the EU changes and becomes smaller in the future, it would eventually fall apart anhyow it's too big and unwieldy.Nicer all round to get out now, but if we don't.... The sun will still shine.

Thatbags that article is a refreshing change to the doom and gloom scaremongering of the campaign. I like the comparison with a "rackety" marriage - some you work at to improve, some you stick at "for better or worse" (often worse!) and some you have to admit were either a bad idea in the first place or have changed as the years have gone on.
I can hold that thought.

Well that ordinary man Mike one if the Brexit non- elites, admitted that there would be job losses. Job losses occur in a contracting economy, which ordinary man Mike has admitted would be the case for at least two years.

Contracting economy = less jobs = less immigration. Immigrants do not turn up just for no reason they make rational decisions about the job market in any one country.

That's fine Granjura or would be, if the IN thread allowed OUT comments without spoiling for a fight, but they don't and are quite enjoying their 'clique' on that thread.
