I have done hours of research and if we vote stay in then Junker ect will clamp down immediately and we will have the euro which is a failing currency already plus we will have no protection against flooding the country with immigrants.

This thread is titled
A thread for those who are voting OUT of the EU to make it fair
Being as the in lot was making the out lot feel like freaks on the other thread about the eu for fairness I thought the out lot could have a thread to stop all the unpleasantness
but the in lot weather they live in Britain or not have come and hijacked it because they can't bear anyone having their own opinion if it's different from theirs

nigglynellie Thu 02-Jun-16 14:59:42

Inevitable I'm afraid, and only a matter of time. Nice while it lasted though! As usual I'm heading for the exit door!!

"....the decisions which govern all our lives, the laws we must all obey and the taxes we must all pay should be decided by people we choose and who we can throw out if we want change. If power is to be used wisely, if we are to avoid corruption and complacency in high office, then the public must have the right to change laws and Governments at election time." From an article in the Spectator recently.

I agree entir4ely and it is clear that the ability to change the rulers in the EU is a vastly watered down version of we here in Britain recognise as democracy.

granjura Thu 02-Jun-16 15:05:40

How many times did you enquire about your MEP and vote for him or her. The turn out for MEP elections are always so so low.

Many would agree that a Democracy that elects a few to rule them, often a minority- without any proportionality of the vote with the FPP UK system - is a strange democracy. Especillay when it has another un-elected Chamber with so much influence on Laws, with much influence give to a religious group which does not reflect the current reality at all.
But it is a different story- so won't digress further.

Mamie Thu 02-Jun-16 15:07:11

I think it is called free speech practical.

Welshwife Thu 02-Jun-16 15:09:08

As someone pointed out there is no thread solely for those voting to remain and someone else pointed out that we are at liberty to post on any thread we wish.

granjura Thu 02-Jun-16 15:09:43

practical- did you opt out of commenting on the other thread? Or did you want to comment on that one, and have this one to yourself. Yes, free speech.

rosesarered Thu 02-Jun-16 15:14:58

That's if you believe it Jalima ( about St Jeremy) because I certainly don't.

rosesarered Thu 02-Jun-16 15:18:10

Has anyone noticed ( I have) that although we are all being polite about the Remain Camp( and why not, they have every right to their own views) They are becoming more and more unpleasant about the Leave Camp. They must be getting worried! grin

rosesarered Thu 02-Jun-16 15:19:52

It's the General Election threads all over again.

merlotgran Thu 02-Jun-16 15:37:50

Yes, roses and those of us who would rather keep our heads down, having spotted a cavalry charge, still have a vote.

Nobody knows which side will win but don't underestimate the silent voters.....Remember the General Election.

rosesarered Thu 02-Jun-16 15:39:33

Anyone like a tin hat? grin

practical Thu 02-Jun-16 15:39:54

I didn't post on the other thread after this one opened
and no I didn't want this one for myself I just knew the outers would enjoy their say without anyone making them feel they didn't belong on this planet. It looks like the out voters are not allowed free speech even though they seem to have more morals them the stay in lot. You have already got rid of one poster on here but getting rid of them posting don't mean they will alter their vote we have free will which to us is more important than your free insulting speech.

gangy5 Thu 02-Jun-16 15:42:02

Yes Welshwife and granjura we did comment on the other EU threads but what we didn't agree to was the roodery and dismissive nature ladled onto the outers We are going along pleasantly on this thread and aren't looking for this to change.

Anya Thu 02-Jun-16 15:43:32

I noticed that too roses - not all of them, there are those we recognise and respect as they offer up their alternative views in a way that is thoughtful and reasoned.

Pity about the others.

Anya Thu 02-Jun-16 15:54:28

bags you fortold this very early on....how on earth did you know what would happen? wink

varian Thu 02-Jun-16 15:55:41

It is not those who want to remain that are treating others as fools. I was shocked by the totally dishonest and misleading claims of the "out" broadcast but even some outers were shocked.

Prominent supporter of Brexit, Dr Sarah Wollaston, a former GP and now chair of the House of Commons Health Select Committee, said that the Leave campaign should “stop treating the public like fools” by claiming that Brexit would free-up £350m a week to spend on the NHS.

While attacking “outlandish claims” on both sides of the EU debate, Dr Wollaston singled out Michael Gove’s warning last week over the dangers of increased immigration for the NHS.

Anya Thu 02-Jun-16 15:57:55

And so it goes on and on and on.....

Mamie Thu 02-Jun-16 16:06:43

I completely respect anyone's decision to vote how they please, but that surely does not mean that I have to agree with everything they say?
I joined this thread because I was concerned about the accuracy of the information that *Synonymous" had received and would point out that she asked for opinions. (10:15:46). I read her post, researched as far as I could and responded.
If I disagree with something someone says then I will debate it with them, but it would never constitute a personal attack.

Anya Thu 02-Jun-16 16:08:16

Mamie we respect your input

rosesarered Thu 02-Jun-16 16:11:10

Neither side have to agree with what is said ( it cuts both ways) debate is one thing,
Quite, Mamie but all are not as reasonable as you.

Anya Thu 02-Jun-16 16:17:45

Indeed but I wish we could have more reasoned debate such as Mamie's. We all ( well most of us) would welcome that for a change.

Mamie Thu 02-Jun-16 16:18:38

Thank you both. It is obviously all hugely worrying for us.

nigglynellie Thu 02-Jun-16 16:33:20

I've sneaked back in again just to say that I agree with anya and roses. Of course we can, or should be able to debate, question, query with anyone and everyone, but not if it disintegrates into personal insults or ridiculing someone's opinion. I'm quite happy to be persuaded or not, but not through barely disguised bullying. I think at the end of the day we all have our opinions and probably will have to agree to differ and leave it that. I've just read that apparently some voting papers have been sent to EU nationals! by mistake of course!! You really do begin to wonder!! Perhaps my nine year old grandson is in charge of this - he is very forgetful!!!

The start of it all.
I feel for Port Talbot workers, it looks like the government would have stepped in to nationalise it but under eu law they are not allowed to own outright any British company. hence the sell off of our royal mail.
