Only a few months and there will be a new PM, who?

ginny Fri 24-Jun-16 20:16:57

Just imagine waking up one morning to find Boris is PM and Trump is President. I shall think I have been abducted to another universe. I wonder what it would be called !

suzied Fri 24-Jun-16 19:54:09

I'd rather have the cat

suzied Fri 24-Jun-16 18:52:30

Boris was a rubbish mayor of London, wanting an airport in the middle of a nature reserve, completely messing up all the roads in the centre of London with the cycle super highway which is really dangerous. Goodness only knows how he will perform as PM. Id rather have Theresa May.

On a lighter note, there is a post on Facebook re: replacement for Cameron.
It is the Cat that lives at No10.

weren't!

Jalima Fri 24-Jun-16 16:55:44

The trouble is I think he was confident that the vote would be remain.
ween't we all

Jalima Fri 24-Jun-16 16:54:59

George Osborne got us through a near recession. Got the economy back on track.
I think his rather ill-advised speeches towards the end of the campaign means he may have cooked his goose

Cameron should have shown backbone and stood up to the nationalist right wing. The trouble is I think he was confident that the vote would be remain.

Jalima Fri 24-Jun-16 16:50:28

Jacob Rees-Mogg would get my vote to take over the Conservative Party. Throughout the EU referendum campaign his arguments to leave have been measured and well thought out. In the debates I heard him take part in he never resorted to insults or shouting down anyone who disagreed with him, unlike some of those he was debating with. Instead he listened to their arguments and then responded quietly and politely but still with passion and conviction.
I agree sunseeker, however, I don't think his perceived 'poshness' would go down very well with a lot of the electorate, although his Brexit arguments were very persuasive. He nearly convinced me. Nearly.

Jalima Fri 24-Jun-16 16:48:16

I think it all needs to calm down a bit and for the fallout from the referendum to be dealt with
Having another GE just now would cause even more chaos with the PM resigning and Corbyn's MPs losing confidence in him.

Cameron should never have called a referendum. It was a gamble that didn't pay off.

Jalima Fri 24-Jun-16 16:46:02

They'll make such a might cock up while the economy nosedives that people might actually beg Labour to form a government.

is that unintended irony?

people begging Labour to take charge of the economy?

whitewave Fri 24-Jun-16 16:45:20

what choice do we have?

Johnson who changes his mind constantly, who lacks integrity and honesty

Gove who was a disaster as Education secretary, who wants to take away our human rights

May - aligned with remain so no chance

Who else? Depressing isn't it?

Jalima Fri 24-Jun-16 16:44:26

have been not be

Jalima Fri 24-Jun-16 16:43:53

God knows. We are losing an excellent Prime Minister and a good Chancellor of the Exchequer in one fell swoop
Well, David should have kept aloof from campaigning having offered a referendum. He would then be in a position to see us through the next few difficult years until the next election.

George Osborne hmm

GandTea Fri 24-Jun-16 16:24:05

Trump & Boris, why am I depressed.

Jane10 Fri 24-Jun-16 16:22:39

I reckon they'll all be fighting NOT to be PM. Who'd want that particular poisoned chalice?

mrsmopp Fri 24-Jun-16 16:21:48

Boris is just a showman, and has acted like a clown so I cannot take him seriously.
He has always been very ambitious and will say anything to get elected as PM.
I don't like his attitude to women either.
He was good on Have I Got News for You though, very amusing and very popular but I would prefer someone more reliable to lead the country.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 24-Jun-16 16:15:45

I don't think I will ever vote in an election again. Let them get on with it.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 24-Jun-16 16:14:32

God knows. We are losing an excellent Prime Minister and a good Chancellor of the Exchequer in one fell swoop. Good luck idiot Brits.

Spangles1963 Fri 24-Jun-16 16:04:28

I don't think Boris would be a very good choice tbh. He may have that certain 'charisma' but he is too funny to be PM. Can you think of any other country in the world that has a funny PM? Silvio Berlusconi aside.

I read it as your words, I apologise.

To be honest I am not sure why the term Common Man nor Working Man has caused such a hoo ha and requires an explanation. Neither terms have been used in a derogatory manner , if they had I could maybe understand but I am baffled.

suzied Fri 24-Jun-16 14:49:00

POGS misslippy 12.34 used the phrase: "common man" I was responding to her comment. I didn't use that phrase first.

grove1234 Fri 24-Jun-16 14:41:21

next P.M NOT May she lost in court too often so presumable can,t hire intelligent enough people .

POGS Fri 24-Jun-16 14:23:15
