Only a few months and there will be a new PM, who?

durhamjen Sun 26-Jun-16 12:48:40

Daphne, this group knows lots about the EU and Britain.s position nw.

ukandeu.ac.uk/

They could produce all the information you think we should have.
However, the British population took no notice of facts before the referendum, so why expect them to now?

durhamjen Sun 26-Jun-16 12:50:31

Could you imagine Gove being chancellor? He'd take us right back to Victorian times, with real counting houses, no holidays, etc. Maybe he wants to be foreign minister, and get back the Empire.

whitewave Sun 26-Jun-16 12:53:18

He ought to be the fishing minister. Oh I forgot he lied about his Dad.

daphnedill Sun 26-Jun-16 12:56:12

Liam Fox hasn't ruled out standing as leader.

durhamjen Sun 26-Jun-16 12:57:37

Would they elect someone who has already been found out as fiddling his expenses?

Anniebach Sun 26-Jun-16 12:58:47

Fox will stand , he has started his campaign

durhamjen Sun 26-Jun-16 12:59:04

I think we need to know more about last year's election expenses scandal. We need to know who was implicated in that. There could be a general election on the cards because of that.

whitewave Sun 26-Jun-16 13:07:19

He won't get it.

CheekyGran Sun 26-Jun-16 15:16:48

My very thoughts sunseeker. Jacob Rees Mogg would be a perfect man for the difficult job ahead.

Anniebach Sun 26-Jun-16 15:20:28

Mogg would lose an election

Jane10 Sun 26-Jun-16 15:23:30

Rees Mogg is posher than Cameron and Osborne combined so pretty unlikely to have much appeal to the population. Fox certainly seemed keen on the BBC this morning. I really think that brexiters should be the ones to deal with this mess of their own making. It'll be political suicide of course but richly deserved. We're all going to suffer anyway. Still angry

whitewave Sun 26-Jun-16 15:24:09

Mogg is too posh - posh has not been good they've totally cocked up.

Anniebach Sun 26-Jun-16 15:24:33

Expect we will have Johnson as PM, Gove as chancellor and IDS as foreign secretary , Farage could be justice secretary , they could easily get him elected into a strong Tory seat , or Home Secretary so he could get all the immigrants out of the country

rosesarered Sun 26-Jun-16 15:26:38

I can't think that Boris was a bad Mayor for London... Londoners made sure that he was Mayor twice after all.
His past buffoonery/jollity was an act, he is very intelligent and was the public face of the Leave campaign, so is the best person to be the next PM and take us out of the EU.
Who will be the next Labour Leader is more of a mystery, but we will know soon enough if Corbyn falls on his sword.

whitewave Sun 26-Jun-16 15:27:16

Anyone else still furious? I have never ever in my entire life feel like I do at the moment.

I think it is the fact that this whole thing was based on lies, that we were told we were talking rubbish and the whole thing could have been avoided if we had the benefit of clear headed strong leadership who didn't see Westminster as a playground for the Tory party.

daphnedill Sun 26-Jun-16 15:29:15

@Anniebach

Does Fox have a double ticket with his friend Adam?

It's absolutely unbelieveable that a fraudster like him could even be considered. The Conservatives should have kicked him out of the party.

If he gets the job, he has already said that he supports TTIP and it won't be long before we become the 51st state of the US. Fox is very pro-neolib US and has already stated that he'd like to see more American involvement in the NHS.

durhamjen Sun 26-Jun-16 15:31:18

Furious in my head and sick in my stomach.

We really do need a way to get rid of this government and have another election.

The only way that Cameron can get things to move on is to sign the section 50 papers and take them to the EU tomorrow.
Section's not the right word, is it, but I feel it should be.

daphnedill Sun 26-Jun-16 15:31:51

Moi aussi, whitewave.

I tried to debunk myths and state facts, but was told so many times it was 'just my opinions'. No, they weren't my opinions. They were facts.

nanasam Sun 26-Jun-16 15:32:49

Said before, will say again!

Jane10 Sun 26-Jun-16 15:33:03

Yes Whitewave I'm still absolutely blazing mad at the sheer stupidity of the way we've been brought to our political and economic knees. How can this have happened? What's wrong with people?! Arrgh! Then all these people tell us to 'heal our division and work together'. They really can't have a clue about human nature.

daphnedill Sun 26-Jun-16 15:35:54

We need a strong opposition (preferably government) to vote down any attempt to reduce the rights we have from the EU and to increase Americanisation of public services.

We also need the BBC to report protest demonstrations and marches. Let's make democracy REALLY work!

After all, we're going to have £350,000 a day to play with...ooops...sorry about that...maybe not...it was all a big joke angry

daphnedill Sun 26-Jun-16 15:39:19

@Jane10

Well, I'm not going to 'heal my division' when it means giving in to lies and even more elitism. Why the hell should I? Who do these people think they are?

I still feel very angry and am wondering if I'm too old to start being a revolutionary.

durhamjen Sun 26-Jun-16 15:40:59

Who wants this to replace Cameron?

I am angry, the lies and false promises from Johnson swayed the poorest parts of the country , he is a disgrace even to the Tory party . He sickens me .

suzied Sun 26-Jun-16 15:49:13

daphnedillWasn't that £350 million a week?
rosesareredBoris wasn't great as mayor of London, he was good at fronting the olympics and all the photo opportunities, but as for London wide policies... He won twice, but the Labour candidate was Ken Livingstone, who was past his sell-by at that stage, and the Labour party were pretty much in the doldrums. Boris obviously saw it as a stepping stone to a bigger role as he stood for election as MP last year before the end of his term of office, so he was hardly seen after that. As mayor, he relied heavily on "advisors", some of whom proved to be very dodgy.
