I know I say this often, but is now the time for a new SDP to arise from the mess? Where is a Gang of Four when you need them?

Paddy's done it.

Sounds a possible runner. Wonder how or who will decide on the principles?

But it's not a party Jen , possibly he is testing the water before trying to form one but I see little sense in this group. They will support MP's from any party , these MP's will have to vote against each other at some time

Principles already decided on.

It says all the members will decide.
Obviously if you do not agree, you do not join.
Sounds like a reasonable start to me for those who do not agree with Corbyn or Brexit.

So a labour MP and a Tory MP will remain in their own parties but not vote with their party whip?

durhamjen Sun 24-Jul-16 11:27:47

Should prove interesting. Might temper the excesses of both parties.
Surely you do not want what happened in the 80s, Annie?

Anniebach Sun 24-Jul-16 11:58:24

Jen what happened in the eighties will happen again if Corbyn is leader . The only way to start undoing the damage he has done to the Labour Party is for Corbyn to stand down, he will not, winning an election is not his priority neither is the Labour Party

durhamjen Sun 24-Jul-16 12:23:58

So what do you think is his priority?

Anniebach Sun 24-Jul-16 12:40:08

To stay as leader Jen

1883 election the Labour Party moved to the left the result was the Tory party won 397 seats Labour 209 seats and we had Scotland's vote then, this will happen again , in fact it will be worse , no Scotland votes and UKIP on the rise

It will happen , Momentum cannot penetrate middle England . UKIP will gain because Corbyn will not entertain controlled immigration

Corbyn cannot take politics back to the forties

Sorry, forgot the boundaries changes , approx 40 seats will go ,the majority labour seats
