At a meeting in Walthemstow on Monday evening JC told the audiance that he had received a message of support from Bernie Saunders ( one of JCs minions told him of the message). When Bernie Saunders office was contacted, they denied any such message was sent. Whoops.

Phoenix, I am absolutely sure he will win , what is so frustrating is he is the very politician so many condemn, he lies, is cunning, he is a con man and so far is doing a great job of conning many. If there were loads of seats in the carriages, why did the staff have to move the family to first class? Couldn't they have just told Corbyn where that group of spare seats was?

And he didn't mention wanting two seats together the morning he did his stunt and his spokesperson from momentum didn't mention two seats, she claimed there wasn't one spare seat, following day we hear his need to sit next to his wife, and some believe this waffle

I steer clear of political threads but on the subject of sitting next to his wife I would just say DH and I flew to San Francisco a few weeks ago and our seats were nowhere near each other in either direction. We did not see this as a problem.

One New Year's Eve a few years ago we were traveling from Manchester to Edinburgh with Virgin Trains.When the train arrived in Manchester( from Birmingham) passengers were crammed everywhere, Our reserved seats were taken and were not given up. There was no room to sit or stand anywhere. No passengers,Edinburgh bound,got on the train, off it went.Virgin were very apologetic and by some miracle managed to get us to Edinburgh, two hours late and three trains later.
I complained to Richard Branson and received a lovely letter explaining why the train was over crowded and he refunded our fare and gave us some vouchers.He was very apologetic and promised to look into why this had happened and tried to make sure it wouldn't happen again. At least he replied.

I cannot agree it's a non event nightowl, a man who wants to be leader of the party and then become PM lied to the country then follows it with losing his cool when wuestioned by the press , this is the man who claimed he wanted kinder , honest politics, what else has he lied about

I would hope that truth, no matter what job a person does, matters a great deal.

This thread is so funny. I've been to work and come home to find it's stretched to 9 pages, all about a non event. It's just incredible that so many words can be used to say so little about nothing much at all.

I used to do a lot of train travel in a previous job, and often with a colleague. We ALWAYS pre booked, and when you do that, you automatically get a seat reservation at no extra cost.

Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't make them ridiculous - or stupid or silly (allegations against other posters on other threads btw, not on this one, so far).

We can't all agree on everything all the time. That is not democracy. We can't all like or agree with the same politicians either.

Corbyn said this morning there were no seats for him and his team, surely a group travelling together to an organised event and wanting to sit together to discuss the event would have thought of booking seats in advance , they can arrange rallies in the O2 and around the country but not a train journey
I think several of us have made that point anniebach, and pointed out that we did (and do) the same, especially when working!
It does make you wonder how disorganised and inefficient he and his team would be if they were in charge of a country when they can't sort out seats for themselves on a train
