That's your interpretation and not a logical one. I was merely stating a fact as I see it. It was quite clear before the vote that organisations such as Britain First were supporting Brexit. Do you honestly think people didn't know?
Nowhere have I ever claimed that everybody who voted Leave was a racist, but I have no doubt that some people are/were. The official Vote Leave campaign underplayed the immigration angle quite deliberately, but there was always an undercurrent of fear-mongering, which conflated terrorism, xenophobia, nationalism and immigration in the campaigns by other unofficial campaigns, such as Farage's poster. The whole thing produced a toxic cocktail.
I disagree with you that bringing racism into the discussion is unpleasant, because I find racism itself more unpleasant.
