Well that was interesting. I should say Panarama was also enlightening but not as forceful and uncompromisingly direct in it's reporting content as Dispatches.

I'm not going to simply post on the Lib Dem Thread which has turned into a Labour Thread as I think this programme summed up exactly what I have thought and have been posting since the formation of Momentum , it is a ' Party within a Party.'

I will say now to those who will see it as propaganda and take umbrage at my post you cannot argue with what you see and hear from the horses mouth, no matter how hard you might try and no doubt will.

The fact Momentum are doing all they can to play down the Momentum name in connection to the ' Jeremy for Labour ' Campaign , the use of the Unite Union office are significant, the way the reporter was paid is serious stuff and I hope there is further investigation into that. Will anybody take it up I wonder?.

Has anybody 'Cicked' on the ' Jeremy for Labour ' Campaign or answered questions on the phone in connection with it. The reason I ask is if you have you are, as I understood it, on the data base on the Jeremy For Labour Services?. Listen to what is said about it , you may not be too happy, or maybe you will of course.

There is to be fair a Momentum explanation and statement at the end of the programme but it is worth viewing to make your own mind up if you didn't catch it.

Biggest party membership in Europe, and they are still joining because Corbyn won.

Anniebach Sun 25-Sept-16 14:08:37

Doubt there is an answer whitewave which is sad. Look at the two posts above, a poster believes Corbyn is not a good leader and is accused of unjustified prejudice

I do not believe he is a good leader so I too am accused of unjustified prejudice , I have always given my reasons for saying he is a weak leader , not predjuduce and for me justified

Beammeupscottie Sun 25-Sept-16 14:20:45

You cannot overlook weakness in a Leader. Corbyn frequently looks out of his depth. Fair enough - but stay in the shallows mate because politics is hard and bloody.
It is not a prejudicial assessment - the man may have some qualities - but he is not suitable to lead the Nation in these difficult Brexit times ahead.

Anniebach Sun 25-Sept-16 14:26:26

Ruth Smeeth has just been interviewed, thank heaven someone spoke up for the 40% who didn't vote for Corbyn

durhamjen Sun 25-Sept-16 14:28:49

As you disagree with momentum having meetings, Annie, I hope you also disagree with Labour First holding a meeting at the moment, with Hilary Benn talking to them.
Laura Kuennsberg is there rather than at the Labour conference proper.
What do you say about that?
Corbyn was asked this morning about whether Hilary Benn would come back to the front bench. His response was that Hilary Benn was going to lead Labour's Brexit group. That's less than a day after Benn said it was time for unity.
Talking to Labour First is not unity.

durhamjen Sun 25-Sept-16 14:30:15

She's at that meeting, too.

Obviously you are not interested in unity, judging by your last comment.
Such a shame.

Anniebach Sun 25-Sept-16 14:35:20

Seems labour MP's will not get a vote on the shadow cabinet , so the deputy leader is ignored yet again . Unity? Too funny

It does amuse me that those people who have condemned Momentum and others for using personal attacks are quite prepared to make personal remarks about Corbyn.
If being ignored worries the deputy leader he could always resign.
Annie you know your Labour history
The PLP voted to abolish Shadow Cabinet elections at a meeting on 5 July 2011
"Ooh but now we've changed our minds!" they cry. "We don't like Jeremy so we're not letting him do it!"

Anniebach Sun 25-Sept-16 15:15:26

I know it was abolished but by giving MP's a percentage of the votes as put forward by the deputy leader, it would ,in my opinion, be a move towards unity .

MP's are voted in by their constituency , not all are Labour Party members , not all who vote for a labour government are on the far left.

Anniebach Sun 25-Sept-16 15:20:56

It amused me when I said Corbyn made the most stupid comment when he said Foot was a great success I was asked did I blame Corbyn

How can an election with the result Tories 397. Labour 209 be considered a great success

durhamjen Sun 25-Sept-16 15:22:48

But the name on the voting paper is chosen by the party members.
One of the things that was wrong in Blair's era was the parachuting in of favourites. What's the difference between what Blair did and what you think Corbyn is going to do?

durhamjen Sun 25-Sept-16 15:30:54

I seem to recall one PMQs when both May and Farron said about standing for North West Durham. Neither of them had any connection to the constituency, although Farron had at least been to Newcastle University.
Fortunately we are sensible here and vote for people who don't need parachuting in.

durhamjen Sun 25-Sept-16 15:32:28

Kinnock didn't win an election either, did he, as John Prescott reminded us today.
Doesn't stop you praising Kinnock.

durhamjen Sun 25-Sept-16 15:34:22

Whitewave, there's just been a reminder at the conference tnat Corbyn is against fracking. No environmental vandalism there.

whitewave Sun 25-Sept-16 15:49:12

It will be a good exercise to list his hoped for policies to see if we can all agree on them.

I for one agree with him about fracking.

Anniebach Sun 25-Sept-16 15:52:30

And if anyone disagrees they are attacked or reported

whitewave Sun 25-Sept-16 15:57:31

annie grin I promise I won't report you or attack you. Bit of gentle persuasion perhaps but you won't mind that you will you?

whitewave Sun 25-Sept-16 15:58:42

What do you think about fracking? Go on I dare you to tell me.

durhamjen Sun 25-Sept-16 15:58:54

I agree on fracking as well, whitewave.

obieone Sun 25-Sept-16 16:01:24

push forward, move forward. Always so easy to say if things are already going in the direction you want them to go in!

obieone Sun 25-Sept-16 16:02:48

oh and unity too
push forward, move forward, unity, agree

durhamjen Sun 25-Sept-16 16:03:24

It's transport policy being discussed at the moment.
I agree with him about renationalising the railways.
Why should the tax payer subsidise private profit on the railways?

obieone Sun 25-Sept-16 16:04:37

dont go back over the past,
that is history[which normally means the person wants to do exactly the same as before, just under a new banner or headline, dont chew over old bones.

whitewave Sun 25-Sept-16 16:06:45

I know a lot of commuters and they are desperate for nationalisation. The train service in this part of the world is attrocious and has been for years.

How about you annie? Come on meet us half waysmile
