Well that was interesting. I should say Panarama was also enlightening but not as forceful and uncompromisingly direct in it's reporting content as Dispatches.

I'm not going to simply post on the Lib Dem Thread which has turned into a Labour Thread as I think this programme summed up exactly what I have thought and have been posting since the formation of Momentum , it is a ' Party within a Party.'

I will say now to those who will see it as propaganda and take umbrage at my post you cannot argue with what you see and hear from the horses mouth, no matter how hard you might try and no doubt will.

The fact Momentum are doing all they can to play down the Momentum name in connection to the ' Jeremy for Labour ' Campaign , the use of the Unite Union office are significant, the way the reporter was paid is serious stuff and I hope there is further investigation into that. Will anybody take it up I wonder?.

Has anybody 'Cicked' on the ' Jeremy for Labour ' Campaign or answered questions on the phone in connection with it. The reason I ask is if you have you are, as I understood it, on the data base on the Jeremy For Labour Services?. Listen to what is said about it , you may not be too happy, or maybe you will of course.

There is to be fair a Momentum explanation and statement at the end of the programme but it is worth viewing to make your own mind up if you didn't catch it.

Re-learning was a thing of Mao Zedong's regime, was it not?
Remember old McDonnell waving a little red book - as a joke! Not true and not funny.

daphnedill Wed 28-Sept-16 11:18:26

The public has been 're-educated' since 1979. Nothing to do with North Korea!

Given the number of people who claim not to be interested in politics or economics, but have a vote, it's about time they knew some facts.

whitewave Wed 28-Sept-16 11:18:36

Well if you believe that annie you also will have to include the probable next USA president. Her economic arguments could have been made by McDonnell and vis versa.

daphnedill Wed 28-Sept-16 11:19:06

Re-learning was also top of the agenda in post-war Germany. Should it not have been?

daphnedill Wed 28-Sept-16 11:21:53

There was nothing Communist in McDonnell's speech, nor in anything I heard from Debbie Abrahams, Rebecca Long-Bailey or any of the other speeches I watched.

Anniebach Wed 28-Sept-16 11:27:12

I was referring to McDonald saying we do not have to whisper socialism anymore ,i never have

whitewave Wed 28-Sept-16 11:31:03

What so many people complained about during the Brexit referendum was that truth was the first casualty.

The truth about immigration was one of the first. All I am saying is that objective facts should be made widely available.

Of course what the working class have experience over the past 6 years is almost entirely due to the rubbish that was Osbornomics. They have been fed the lie that there was no alternative and it was a price they had to pay for the crises caused by the wealthy bankers.

They looked at how their local surgery and school were under pressure from increased need. They were then fed the lie that it had nothing to do with Osbornes agenda of smaller state and Less available welfare ( we are still suffering from it e.g. NHS), but it was all due to the pressure from immigration. Never mind that their tax and vat contributions would have more than paid their way.

That's what I mean by reeducation -I am talking about objective facts.

daphnedill Wed 28-Sept-16 11:33:11

How do you get the public to take notice of objective facts?

PS. You'd better think of a synonym for 're-education' or you'll get jumped on again grin.

whitewave Wed 28-Sept-16 11:40:26

grin I know!!!!

Well they have been fed lies so why should the truth be more difficult?

Anniebach Wed 28-Sept-16 11:50:14

whitewave, people will believe what they want to believe, how can you expect to get through to people who believed the lies of Boris?

You cannot change the views of people in areas of the north who feel swamped by immigrants ,

The problem with trying to discuss anything on this forum is if one tries to put forward the views of the very people who we needs to vote labour

When the living wage was discussed a few days ago I put forward what several small business people had said to me, immediately I came under fire and was accused of being a Tory.

In my opinion to have a discussion the views of everyone should be listened to , understood and discussed . I am 100% for the living wage but I understand the worries of small businesses

whitewave Wed 28-Sept-16 11:58:32

But my point is annie is that can't run a country on lies. The business community would be very unhappy for a start. McDonnell clearly understands that.

Anniebach Wed 28-Sept-16 12:03:02

Pity posters here didn't understand it whitewave ,

Anniebach Wed 28-Sept-16 12:06:21

Anyway , I am moving house , have two bungalows to decorate and will, when I do move in a few weeks be off line for a while. Good news for some here

Devorgilla Wed 28-Sept-16 12:50:50

We will miss you AB. Good luck with the move and redecoration.

nigglynellie Wed 28-Sept-16 12:56:57

Good luck with your move ab! Having moved fairly recently (102 miles), I know it can be exhausting, so try and pace yourself, a bit!! I know we will never agree politically, but I for one will miss your posts, some of which I do, tentatively agree with, which does bear out your comment that we should all be able to air our different opinions and discuss them openly and respectfully and if necessary agree to differ without being pilloried. Wishful thinking?!!

rosesarered Wed 28-Sept-16 14:21:28

That's ok niggly we can pillary right back! grin Just wish more posters would comment ( in whatever way) it's always the same few.
It can't have been easy for ab to say what she thinks of Corbyn wrecking Labour's chances and former 'friends' have chosen to give her a very hard time on this forum for daring to speak out.I doff my invisible hat annie to you, and wish you well in moving house.smile?

nigglynellie Wed 28-Sept-16 14:32:47

I too admire the way you've stuck to your guns ab despite some really unpleasant, at times bullying comments you've endured just for voicing your opinion which you are perfectly entitled to do. You're braver than me!!!

JessM Wed 28-Sept-16 14:46:09

Glad you have your fan base AB smile

rosesarered Wed 28-Sept-16 14:47:26

Well, only fair Jess am sure that you have one too ( we can start one!)

Anniebach Wed 28-Sept-16 14:59:26

Thank you for your kind wishes for the house move , wish I had the date.

Jess I don't need fans, never have .

Roses, yes the attacks were and are unpleasant but the difficult part wasn't being honest about my views on Corbyn, it was realising I was not only wrong about Corbyn but about some I had come to care for as friends only to realise I was just useful to them and there was no friendship .

Niggly, we will never agree on politics but we can respect each other

Devo ?

whitewave Wed 28-Sept-16 15:03:25

Are you watching Corbyns speech annie?

Anniebach Wed 28-Sept-16 15:22:17

I did settle down to listen to him whitewave but when the momentum chant started I switched off

whitewave Wed 28-Sept-16 15:29:00

Oh annie how can you comment then? That is a shame.

Anniebach Wed 28-Sept-16 15:50:11

I have received text messages through out from the hall, will listen to the discussions which follow and I will comment when I choose to

Anniebach Wed 28-Sept-16 15:55:33

Some poor woman stsrted to give her opinion and was screamed down by a very hysterical woman, just like this forum really
