Well this could be interesting.
Rosie Winterton sacked from Chief Whips position and Nick Brown back in the Cabinet again. Baroness Shami Chakrabarti has done very well since joining Labour she is now Shadow Attorney General and Dianne Abbot Shadow Home Secretary, Dawn Butler Shadow Minority Ethnic Communities, Sarah Champion Shadow Women and Equalities Minister and Jo Stevens Shadow Secretary of State for Wales.
It will be interesting to see if any who signed 'No Confidence' in Corbyn can/will be in Corbyn's reshuffled Cabinet Team. Time for 'Unity'?
whitewave, should those who campaign to bring in the children living in The Jungle remain silent because it isn't their job?
No annie I am not about criticising anyone in the Labour Party.
I am however concerned with the total chaos that is our government, and what will happen to our country. Johnson is the foreign secretary it is not his business to encourage people to demonstrate. Clwyd is perfectly entitled to talk about demonstrating or not as she is in opposition, holds no ministerial post and is not responsible for this countries foreign policy.
whitewave, this is not about the government, this is Corbyn against any demonstrations against Russia , Stop The War has nothjng to do with the government.
So Ann Clwyd who has campaigned against war is wrong to ask why no demonstrations and Corbyn is right to disagree with any demonstration against Russia bombing on the grounds that it detracts from America's part in the war?
The widower of Jo Cox is wrong too?
We have discussed Stop The War before , remember Peter Tatchell and the Syrian woman Muzna Al-Naib who challenged a Stop The War meeting and said basically it was a meeting to keep Assad in place and sod the Syrian people suffering.

I like this letter which says from a human rights activist to an anti war an activist.

"So, the West is about to attack. We don’t want foreign military intervention right? Oh but Iranian and Lebanese forces have been there for some time now fighting with The Government’s army, and along with Russia have been arming them with sophisticated weapons. I guess that doesn’t count as foreign because those are not western countries. Israel attacked Syria a few times too but they are not Western so let’s forget about that too.
What’s important now is to stop the West. They’re always looking to start wars. They are the bad guy. So that means Syria must be the good guy. Oh you don’t know much about them. Let me fill you in. There is a dictatorship there. It’s been about 40 years. It comes with all the stuff you expect from good guys, no freedom of expression, no democracy, gross human rights violations, political prisoners, and complete theft of the economy. In fact one guy owns 60% of the entire Syrian economy! Hmm, let me see what else. Oh yeah they were responsible for the killing of an entire city of Hama killing over 20,000 people in 1982 and are a designated a state sponsor of terrorism since 1979. And in case you forgot they attacked, kidnapped, tortured, and killed peaceful protesters for the first 6 months of the conflict while people asked for their basic rights and freedoms. Most recently chemical attacks were used against people while they slept killing over a thousand men, women, and children. In case you were wondering, Syria has the largest stockpile of chemical weapons in the world.
But they are not the bad guys, right? It’s more important to stop the West because they cause collateral damage. Never mind the existing collateral damage caused by The Government that has reduced a third of the country to rubble and killed tens of thousands in the process. No need to protest against the daily indiscriminate missile strikes being used by Syria’s military because the 3 days of missile strikes by the West will be much worse for the people of Syria."
As with most things it is who is behind the organisations I find interesting such as Corbyn, Andrew Murrey, Tariq Ali, et al. It comes back to political persuasions , let's say write for The Morning Star.
So much has been spoke of regarding Stop The War, including Labour MP's which brings us back to the chasm that divides Labour front and back benches.
Thank you POGS, I await the defence yet again of Corbyn
I'm afraid nobody on the far left will ever condemn Russia for its appalling bombing campaign in Allepo! It's hypocrisy at work again just like far left politicians and their childrens education! If this was the U.S.the Embassy would, understandably, almost certainly be in flames! but because it's Russia, of course it's somehow acceptable! No doubt Stop the War are pulling out all the stops to somehow shift the blame onto the West! Not easy of course but maybe possible with a bit of double thinking, a few tweaks and twists to verify that what Russia is doing is perfectly legitimate, and bingo, it's all the fault of the U.S. and of course the wicked UK. What a relief,we can all march again in the sure knowledge of the moral high ground!
True Niggly , seems even blowing up an aid convoy doesn't concern them because Russia did it
There is evidence that US planes are being painted in Russian colours, apparently it is usual practice and part of the training. Am I wrong to think there may be an ulterior motive? Would demonstrating outside the Russian embassy be effective? I very much doubt it, after all if a democratically elected government can ignore 2 million protesters marching through their capital city and go to war anyway, why on earth should an authoritarian single party state listen to demonstrators in another country?
No, it probably wouldn't be even remotely effective, but at least it would show that demonstrators are not just one sided and care about Russian atrocities as much as they care about western ones. At the moment it would appear that only the West is called to account whereas Russia /Syria behave with impunity without anyone appearing to notice, never mind care - why?!
One doesn't expect every demonstration to be a success surely? One would be most foolish if so would they not? and their principles cause for judgement .
Nothing to stop anyone who wants to going to demonstrate outside the Russian embassy if they believe that is what is required,
Anniebach I find it difficult to square your comments with the feelings anyone who was on the Iraq anti-war march experienced.
True, this must be the reason Stop The War will not demonstrate yes? Rsther like badger culling demonstrations, those who want it stopped demonstrate those who do not remain silent or offer lies to strengthen their true reasons for wanting the culling to continue.
It took from 1959 to 1994 for the anti apartheid movement to finally see the end of apartheid, damn good thing they didn't take your attitude by 1960
Do you trisher , or are you playing - let's take the urine , yet again
Is it better to demonstrate for something one believes in or to castigate others because they won't demonstrate when you think they should?
trisher are you seriously saying that US jets are taking to the skies in Syria, painted in RUSSIAN colours, and committing atrocities daily over Aleppo? ( jaw drops in utter anazement that somebody could even THINK that ) Nope....they are Russian jets alright doing Assad's bidding, and it is a war crime! Stop The War only ever want to demonstrate when BRITISH.Troops are involved in overseas action, and them not wanting to condemn Russia says all you want to know about them.
Apparently however much you repaint US aircraft, they are very different to Russian ones and easily distinguishable by experts.
True I suppose trisher, clearly explains why Corbyn is against campaigning against Russian support of Assad
Except he isn't. He's against only campaigning against Russian support of Assad. He's for campaigning against all countries involved in Syria which shouldn't be - Russia, America, US, etc. He's against arming any middle east countries. Stop arming them and it will be a different situation altogether.
But it's Russia that is helping Assad to wipe out the whole of Aleppo! Not the US and not us and not anyone else, how can anyone defend Russia on this?
It shows how mealy mouthed Corbyn is.
What's mealy mouthed about wanting all UN countries to stop arming the people of Syria and to stop bombing Syria?
That means everyone.
Telling Russia to stop and not being prepared to do it yourself will not work.
Are you aware that Russia is dropping aid in parts of Syria?
Seems Corbynites can and are defending Russia,to claim America are painting their aircraft the same as Russian aircraft !
Why did Russia abandon the cease fire agreement
How can snyone defend what Russia is doing
