These are some nominations.
Who would you choose from the list?

I agree with you, POGS (and I do read German).

There is no reference anywhere to Farage. Not only that, but 'Strafanzeige' (the heading on the first email means 'criminal charge'. It's dated 30/09/16. Not only is there no reference to Farage, but there's no indication whether the person is making the complaint or defending it.

Much as I despise Farage and would love the story to be true, I don't see any evidence that it is.

skwawkbox.org/2016/12/31/heres-the-address-farage-used-for-his-german-passport-application/

I do hope it is true and that he gets 5 years for it. It will make the EU a safer place.

daphnedill Sat 31-Dec-16 13:51:34

Sorry, but there's no evidence that he used that address for a passport application, although it could well be the address of a relative of his wife.

The original email refers to a charge. There is absolutely nothing to say whether Farage was bringing the charge or whether it was a charge against him.

durham I was just saying to add the evidence as some posts seemed to be just putting forward names! HNY

Hot on the heels of her enquiry (generally acknowledged as a whitewash) into anti-Semitism within the Labour Party, Shami Chakrabarti received a peerage from Jeremy Corbyn despite his having pledged not to make any nominations to the Lords. He preached against awarding peerages and then awarded one, so my first nomination goes to Jeremy Corbyn.
Now a Labour Peer, Baroness Shami Chakrabarti is campaigning against grammar schools while sending her son to a highly selective private school where fees cost £18,000+ per year. So Shami, if as you say, state education and comprehensive schools are good enough for the rest of us - why not for your child? That's hypocrisy and she's my second nomination.

Anniebach Sat 31-Dec-16 15:25:27

And Shami wanted the Lords abolished just like Corbyn does, or should thst be - did

Do you know the answer to my earlier question, 12.36?

' I think I've asked you before, not sure, but is the link you have provided again to 'Skawkbox' (with a k )the same organisation as CNBC 'Squwakbox' (with a q)?'

One minute I think it is definately connected to CNBC but another side of me thinks it is a copycat name.

Your latest link says this:-

'The address belongs to a relative of Mr Farage’s wife, Kirsten. Don’t be confused if it comes up as the address of a school – it is the registered office address of a swimming school (the school and pool is at Sachsenweg 78 in Hamburg), registered to the address of the owner.'

So is the owner of the 'swimming school' 'swimming pool' without doubt a cousin of Mrs. Forage and now ' presumably ' implicated in the , as you imply, fraudulent application?.

Think you'll have to wait for a reply from durhamjen, POGS - she's gone on the razzle for New Year's Eve already!

Ana Sat 31-Dec-16 17:31:02

(apparently. Or allegedly)

Whoever drew up this list clearly doesn't know what the word hypocrite means. A hypocrite is someone who self-righteously espouses one cause while living the opposite. Supporters of the sanctity of the family who are secret adulterers, for example. Very few on the list are actually hypocrites, unpleasant, nasty, contemptible, probably, but hypocrites? No.

The hypocrite of the year is the one party leader not mentioned. Jeremy Corbyn. Voting against his party how many times 300 - 400? Then demanding loyalty from his fellow MPs when he becomes leader and coming down like a ton of bricks on those who oppose his policies and principles. He railed, and continues to rail against the honour system and then makes Shami Chakrabati a peer, as he asks her to do a report on anti-semitism in the Labour party. The report finds no problem, surprise, surprise. Then there is Diane Abbot, staunch left winger, publicly opposes private education, but had her son privately educated.

Corbyn and Abbot are hypocrites in the full meaning of the word. The others are just unpopular politicians at best, espousing

What are the credentials of the organisation that drew up this list? All I can find is that the site is the personal site of some US oddity, and political maverick, called Matt de Heus, about whom I can find little information. Not a site whose views and lists I would give any credence to. He certainly isn't knowledgeable enough to understand the proper definition of a hypocrite.

Good post Monica though doubt any Socialist Gransnetters will agree, they may have a different version of hypocrite ie. a politician they disagree with.grin

M0nica Sun 01-Jan-17 09:06:58

One para is incomplete.

Corbyn and Abbot are hypocrites in the full meaning of the word. The others are just unpopular politicians at best, espousing.... unpopular or unsuccessful policies.

Anniebach Sun 01-Jan-17 09:07:46

Really rosesarered? I assume my posts have been ignored for a long time ?

rosesarered Sun 01-Jan-17 09:24:17

Ah, but you are the one Socialist Gran who sees Corbyn for what he really is like
IS ab nobody else does.

rosesarered Sun 01-Jan-17 09:24:58

Don't know where the IS came from!

Anniebach Sun 01-Jan-17 09:37:54

true rosesarered, I nominated Corbyn on this thread and Shami .

I may have missed a link earlier last year, all the links on Jo Cox and one where she wrote for the guardian declaring Corbyn a weak leader and she had made a mistake voting fir him , not a pip

nigglynellie Sun 01-Jan-17 11:33:08

Yes you're right Monica, and I was wrong voting for D.C who is imo a shallow and weak willed coward, but that isn't being hypocritical in the true sense of the word. J.C, Shami, D.A are shameless hypocrites, for the reasons you stated the worst imo is Shami for accepting her elevation to an institution that she apparently disapproved of so strongly and has time and again actively wanted abolished!! Her sons education just proves the point, if indeed any of us were in any doubt!!!!

nightowl Sun 01-Jan-17 11:44:49

You seem to be implying that all socialist gransnetters apart from Anniebach are hypocrites rosesarered. Not very nice.

Anniebach Sun 01-Jan-17 11:46:03

And Emily Thornberry who had her children privately educated. On being asked why be against grammer schools but for private education for her children she said - this is a gem - I want the best education for my children and all children,

Can anyone explain the logic in her reply please?

M0nica Sun 01-Jan-17 11:49:06

No, I do not think that is the implication. The problem is with the person who drew up the original list (not the OP). He drew up a list of politically very unpopular people and then assumed the word hypocrite meant most hated/unpopular.

Perhaps in the USA that is what hypocrite means.

Anniebach Sun 01-Jan-17 11:51:54

No nightowl, risesarered did not say any thing to imply anyone was a hypocrite

nightowl Sun 01-Jan-17 11:52:26

Maybe not hypocrites, maybe just morally bankrupt. (A correction to my previous post).

Anniebach Sun 01-Jan-17 11:55:06

Again no, she did not say or suggest that, you have a different view on hypocrites than I do, that's all

nigglynellie Sun 01-Jan-17 11:56:11

As you say ab, a gem!! Nearly as good as Diane Abbot telling us that her 11/12 year old son went to Grammar School at his insistence - nothing his mother could do about it! So that made it all alright then?!!

Anniebach Sun 01-Jan-17 12:06:18

True niggly
