Danny Blanchflower - I thought he was a footballer?
And a journalist. (but now deceased)

Or is he son of the great Danny Blanchflower?

His name is David but is known as Danny also .

Jalima Wed 11-Jan-17 10:21:48

What on earth are you going on about? David 'Danny' Blanchflower is one of the best known economists in the world and has been for some time.

Hallelujah, we have been resolved. The high priestess of race relations, Shami Chakrabarti has proclaimed that its not rascist to be concerned about immigration.
I can sleep better now after this proclamation.

Joke alert:
Why does he call himself 'Danny' if his name is David?

Could it be a nickname after on the of the best known footballers in the world, Danny Blanchflower?
Perhaps you are too young daphnedill grin

I found this snippet lurking around on the internet from the Guardian, 2008!

It was at school that he acquired the nickname by which he is now universally known. When he was 10 the most famous footballer in Britain was Danny Blanchflower, so naturally his schoolmates latched on to that. Today, his mother is the only person who calls him David: even Mervyn King calls him Danny.

I had wondered if he was the Great Danny's son as it is an unusual name.

Some back bench MP's are also unhappy with Corbyn over his NATO stance and also the NATO exercise in Estonia.

He made his Shadow Defence Secretary Nia Griffith look silly and I don't think this is the first time. I remember hearing her speak of the Labour Party stance on Trident and I remember thinking that is not Corbyn's view.

He is said to be going through a 'Populist' Makeover but it ain't working IMO.

Has he actually said anything about current matters of concern to voters, such as the NHS, the EU, immigration (think he touched on that, but was of course vague).

There may as well be no Opposition Party at all with him in charge of it.

Anniebach Thu 12-Jan-17 19:46:48

Nis is jumping, hoping mad with him and he has now angered more Welsh labour MP's by refusing to accept their views on controlled immigration, and activists in Copeland are telling voters Corbyns views on trident are not the Labour Party's views.

There is no mention of Corbyn on the bi election Labour party fliers . Truth is , he is being ignored by many in the party
