I am surprised too - that you want a specific reply saying "Oh yes!, Him! Gaudi!" and assume that without it petra(and by extension everyone else) has never heard of him. Perhaps everyone was just ignoring both the typo and your reference to the architect?

Read whatever paper you like, dj. without criticism, but don't post sarcastically that you are not surprised at Petra's ignorance of the name of a famous architect when it was the auto-correct that typed his name instead of Guardian/Grauniad or whatever. That is an uncalled-for personal remark, and you have been on GN long enough to know not to do that.

Could anyone forget Trump? The choice of Moab as a name for the monster bomb is interesting. It is an acronym for Massive Ordinance Aerial Bomb or Mother Of All Bombs, but the word comes from Psalm 60. Unfortunately, Moab is the name of the foe that was to be totally annihilated and used as a despised footbath. I don't think that is quite what was meant.

I have to laugh at durhamjens remark Re me not knowing who Gaudi is.
It's a standing joke in our family that we go to Barcelona so often. I've only been once this year so far but will be moving a friends boat to the marina there in a couple of months, and then we will visit with the family when we all go holiday to a resort near there.

Trump is also going to give a speech at the NRA Association AGM at the end of the month. He obviously hopes to still be president then.

I didn't criticise Guardian readers. I merely quoted what I remembered Private Eye calling the paper because at one time it was renowned for its typos.

I suppose the Mexicans think it's a good thing, too. The diversion of World War 111 means that he hasn't built any wall.

If he has borrowed a lot of money from Russian sources for his businesses over the years, especially since the crash in 2008, that might be why he will not release his tax returns. In the US you write off interest on business loans, so the sources would be on the supporting schedules attached to his returns.

Whilst it's not illegal to borrow money from Russian sources (no more than if from Chinese), it COULD affect the influence they'd have. He would not have borrowed by the Russian gov't, but from the oligarchs who wield much influence.

A writer in Forbes magazine said that was just silly... but with Trump's history of going bankrupt (the modern way to refinance), he may not have been able to borrow through regular channels. Money tightened up after the 2008 crash, especially with the collapse of Lehman Brothers.

The former head of MI6 has said Donald Trump borrowed money from Russia for his business during the 2008 financial crisis.

There have been huge demonstrations in the US asking for Trump's tax returns, but his spokesperson, Kellyanne Conway still says "people don't care". They DO.
