Living with the Trump presidency

I like Rory's

Crossed posts or "great minds think alike"!!!

Psxman might have been better! (they might have come to blows, though...)

I think this is something I saw recently where Bremner explains Trump's "distraction technique " when he is speaking. It explains some of the hand gestures.

some explanations of his hand gestures

I watched the Gorka interview last night with almost complete incomprehension! He seemed to be incapable of understanding far less answering Evan Davies's questions. Who'd be a Newsnight anchor in the Trump/Brexit era?

It's annoying me, can't think where I've seen it, it wasn't Seinfeld.

Jalima My DH mentioned it was sort of like Seinfeld... the US NYC comedy show where all the actors used a lot of gestures. Maybe it's a New York thingy. I never really watched in in the US, though he did.

I presume he still has a business to run? he is supposed to have relinquished his business interests Ankers
If he doesnt learn to rest properly, that could be his undoing.^
I think that 'engaging mouth before brain' could be his undoing.

I don't think my pattern is the same as anyone else's either

tanith I agree, I don't know what or who is reminds me of but it is irritating. I am waiting for him to start making speech marks with his fingers when he talks about fake news and the media.

Perhaps he/she has another GN identity that is an alter ego of that one. I would guess if you use different email addresses you can have as many usernames as you wish. Sort of like a multiple personality disorder.

petra perhaps the poster lives in an Alternate Universe as well!

Unless GN tracks IP addresses... that would sort it out unless they are very tech savvy and use dynamic IP addresses.

I'd like to know what my 'pattern' of being on gransnet is not the same as others means.

For information, in case anyone is bothered, which they seem to be for some reason, my pattern of being on gransnet is not the same as others. And in no way am I going to say why! So when I disappear for a while, who knows when I am back again

Kind to share that with us, but no, I don't think anyone is interested bothered.

Only 47 months to go! Meanwhile, there must be someone who could be a good President, who would step forward.

Anyway, you've got some good guys. Did you read Mark Zuckerberg's vision for the future?

Yikes daphnedill I don't remember hearing about this from the inauguration day news. The mind boggles... I feel like the US has become an Alternate Universe and not a real place any longer!

It appears that Sebastian Gorka has already upset some people in Israel by wearing a Nazi-linked medal :

Rinouchka, did you see the disruption at the Israeli Ambassador nominee hearing?

President Donald Trump's nominee to be U.S. ambassador to Israel faced repeated heckling at a Senate confirmation hearing on Thursday before he apologized for his stinging criticism of liberal American Jews and promised to be less inflammatory in an official capacity.

I have come to the conclusion that because GNers are generally anonymous, it's easy when you are only a username to say 'whatever- however' you please. Not as a troll, definitely not, but as someone who can be confident that because they are not identifiable, it gives them a freedom to be creatively uninhibited in their views.

In some people's world... Gransnetting is a sort of spectator sport. Some posters throw out a topic or an answer and sit back and watch all the 'fun'. If things settle down, they toss out another 'poo-stirring' comment to get things going again.

Sigh..... some are so easily amused!

Exactly, daphne. White House activities not only resemble fiction, but become fiction, not only inspire jokes, but become the joke.
Maw: my point exactly. The campaign should be over and government should have begun.

One positive: at least the new anti-immigration executive order, due to have been presented last Monday or Tuesday has now disappeared from the current horizon.

I thought I was joking!

I just wish he would stop making that bloody hand gesture, thumb and forefinger in a circle, amongst all the other things I wish he'd stop doing

Probably Teletubbies.

You presumably speak from experience Ankers?
Leaders lead, they may delegate but they need to know what they are talking about.
This is not Jim Hacker and Sir Humphrey.

You say you have heard Gorka, yes, whitewave London born (OMG does that make him an immigrant*?? but a Trump yes-man) commentate, Ankers, MOTD was it?

Nah! Google's too complicated for me. How about posting 11 or more links?
