Anti-Brexit march tomorrow WILL go ahead

Tomorrow's anti-Brexit march in London was scheduled to be one of the biggest ever protests. However the terrorist attack on Wednesday may have put off some of those who planned to take part. I have been told by someone who is intending to go that fake emails have been sent saying that it has been cancelled beacuse the police are overstretched. This is NOT true. Please spread the word that it is going ahead.

Actuall niggly I'm going to tell you to STFU because I am sick and tired of your rude, nasty, negative posts. The ones on this are classic examples of you inimitable style which on this thread were even worse than usual as you used Wednesday's tragedy to make a cheap point against those on here who actually believe in something. What do you believe in? Have you ever marched or fought for something? Or do you just jump in every thread to denigrate and criticise? Talk about nomitive determinism. And the very idea that TF a LD jumped on a pro-Eu bandwagon? A LD pro-EU? Whatever next? Do you know nothing about politics?

And ab I'm another one who is fed up with your constantly trying to derail every thread with your anti-JC rants. We get it, we really do, it's boring and repetitive and counter productive.

Rigby46 Sun 26-Mar-17 13:07:38

My final question niggly was rhetorical btw

nigglynellie Sun 26-Mar-17 13:11:07

Honestly Rigby, you're not worth answering. I think you do protest too much and in doing so make yourself oh SO boring! I simply couldn't care less what your opinion of me is, I don't have one of you, except that you are super boring!

Anniebach Sun 26-Mar-17 13:16:03

New custom by some posters, if you have a problem with their posts tell them to shut up or STFU - what ever that means, expect it's insulting and another example of ill manners

Anniebach Sun 26-Mar-17 13:17:10

Thought, there is fear the far left are trying to take over the lsbour party, same problem on this forum

Rigby46 Sun 26-Mar-17 13:21:42

Well I'm cut to the quick I really am. <goes off sobbing>

Rigby46 Sun 26-Mar-17 13:22:37

ab confused

nigglynellie Sun 26-Mar-17 13:34:21

Exactly! My criticism of Tim Farron was only my opinion and seemed to evoke incoherent fury! My criticism of the march was simply to observe that it might make more difficulties under the circumstances for an already overstretched Police Force, again only my opinion and that of another planned march, so hardly a hanging offense! On these threads we are allowed to say what we feel without being shouted at, no one has to read it or respond. I'm sure annie and I are very sorry to cause others to virtually go into meltdown with our observations as we see things, but we have as much right as anyone else to make comments as and when we please and as often as we please provided we don't break the guide lines as laid down by GN. If this makes others spit flames, then so be it, but rest assured we are within our rights to do so.

Huge peaceful demonstration in London, Saturday 25th March 2017, as the 60th anniversary of the European Union was celebrated in Rome – without the UK.

British people show how much we have to lose if the madness of Brexit goes ahead.

Anniebach Sun 26-Mar-17 13:57:56

Niggly, seems we have the party whips very cross for expressing our opinions, grin

varian Sun 26-Mar-17 13:59:09

Wonderful people of all ages, races and creeds who really care about the future of our country.

varian Sun 26-Mar-17 14:00:10

Churchill was there (at least in spirit)

varian Sun 26-Mar-17 14:01:30

Turncoat Theresa May was nowhere to be seen

Anniebach Sun 26-Mar-17 14:38:30

Was Corbyn?

I wish I had been able to be in London yesterday with the marchers. I am very proud of one of my children who was there and has said what a great up-beat atmosphere there was amongst the marchers. there was no violence, no aggro (as there might have been on a pro brexit demo).

I was glad to hear that some daffodils from our garden had been placed with the floral tributes to PC Palmer and the other victims of Wednesday's attack.

The police on duty were absolutely wonderful and many of the marchers thanked them for their work.

The sun shone and for the second time this week I actually felt proud to be a citizen on the United Kingdom.

I wish I had been there. Instead, I donated to a group, some of whose members were going, to show my solidarity with them and those who wish to remain in the EU, including those leavers who have changed their minds.

Lovely photos, varian.

daphnedill Sun 26-Mar-17 20:22:53

I can confirm what your child reported, varian. There was a very positive and uplifting atmosphere.

AFAIK there was no violence. Ironically, it might have attracted more attention if there had been - especially from the BBC, which blanked it completely. The police were fantastic and exchanged comments and a few jokes with the marchers.

I didn't take any flowers, but many people did and placed them outside the Houses of Parliament or on Westminster Bridge. There was absolute silence, when the minute's silence was observed.

For me, the atmosphere exemplified British values. It's something I won't ever forget.

durhamjen Sun 26-Mar-17 20:25:13

Don't you know where Corbyn was yesterday, Annie?
He was at the Welsh Labour conference with Carwyn Jones.
Even he can't be in two places at once.

GracesGranMK2 Sun 26-Mar-17 21:44:56

Thanks for the photos Varian.

I agree dd, the Beeb does seem to have played it down but I think it will have made everyone who feels they want something other than a hard Brexit that they can have their say too.

Rigby46 Sun 26-Mar-17 22:20:43

niggly of course you can say whatever you want on a thread but you don't have any right to say it with impunity. Those who disagree with what you say can come back as much as they want and criticise as harshly as they want ( within the guidelines of course). You know where the report button is if you think there's been a breach. Opinions and observations would be so much more interesting if they were rooted in facts and evidence or a shred of political understanding. But there you go - as you were, carry on.

Jalima Sun 26-Mar-17 22:39:50

It would have been very strange indeed if Theresa May had been there - I can think of no reason why she should have been
confused

Anniebach Sun 26-Mar-17 23:02:39

Thus may surprise you Jen, but I don't go looking daily /hourly fir Cirbyn, I leave that for his most ardent followers , if I knew where I wouldn't have asked so am puzzled you asked such a silly question.

Anniebach Sun 26-Mar-17 23:07:55

Seems I am not the only one who didn't know where Corbyn was , he didn't , he was in Llandudno but thought he was in ?Denbighshire , days away out of .london doesn't suit him do they

durhamjen Sun 26-Mar-17 23:25:12

I just assumed that someone who is Welsh and Labour would know something about the Welsh Labour conference, Annie.
Not unreasonable, surely?
