I have voted Labour all my adult life but feel I cannot support Mr Corbyn so I wont be voting Labour. I will not vote Conservative and am then left in a quandary. I am seriously considering voting for the Green Party their ideals seem to match with mind other than over Brexit as I am a 'Leave' but that is not as they say a deal breaker for me.
Anyone like to say anything for or against the Greens to help me make up my mind. All comments welcome (silly or malicious ones will be not be responded to). Thank you.

I have voted Green. I put my postal vote in the postbox this morning. Why? The greens say they will do away with the cruel Work Capability tests the the DWP inflict upon ill and disabled people. I had my ESA stopped in February and since then have just lived off my PIP and Housing Benefit. There is my most important reason.

If you look at the Tactical Voting spreadsheet you can see if a vote for the Greens in your constituency will have a desired result - it could be it won't make a difference but you'll have voted with your conscience.

If you like Labour, you should like the Greens, they share a lot of beliefs.
But please remember you are voting for a party and policies, not one person. Especially one person who has been reviled, misquoted and lied about in the press since he first got elected by the party.
Depending where you live, not voting Labour could mean backing T May. I will be voting tactically here in the SW because for me, anything is better than more Tory dismantling of the NHS and welfare

You do indeed need to check that voting Green (which I have done before) will simply allow a conservative candidate to get in.

Teetime Wed 26-Apr-17 18:14:38

There is no hope of anyone other than a Conservative getting in here - we are in Alan Duncan's constituency and they love him despite the fact that he never comes here. You could as they say put a blue ribbon on a donkey and people would vote for it here.

whitewave Wed 26-Apr-17 18:16:52

Vote Green - they do good stuff and both leaders are decent people.

Luckygirl Wed 26-Apr-17 18:27:59

Vote green and let a Tory in!

Ana Wed 26-Apr-17 18:28:41

grin

Anya Wed 26-Apr-17 18:34:02

Great Party Politcal Election Broadcast though, best one I've seen in a long time.

rosesarered Wed 26-Apr-17 19:09:06

.....and in some areas Teetime you could put a red rosette on donkey etc etc.
The Greens have some oddball ideas so look at them very carefully before you vote for them. Why not vote Lib Dem or Independent?

whitewave Wed 26-Apr-17 19:13:56

What oddball ideas are they then rose?

rosesarered Wed 26-Apr-17 19:17:42

I suggest you do some reading on them ww very few voters take them seriously,
As voting percentages show.

whitewave Wed 26-Apr-17 19:19:34

Pity you can't back up what you are saying though. It is so easy to throw these things into the circle without explaining what you mean

rosesarered Wed 26-Apr-17 19:26:18

I don't feel it's up to me, but rather you ww and teetime who are considering them, therefore you must do your homework on them. Also, I don't think that teetime should accept at face value anything said on GN about the policies of the Greens as all sorts of things are bandied about on forums, and far better to go to more reliable sources. All I will say is that they said some quite strange things at the last election and the fact that hardly anyone votes for them says it all.

whitewave Wed 26-Apr-17 19:29:27

hmm

rosesarered Wed 26-Apr-17 19:30:31

Also ww please do not make teetime's thread
A battle.I have said my comment you have said yours and that should be it.

durhamjen Wed 26-Apr-17 19:40:14

I do hope you mean that, roses.

durhamjen Wed 26-Apr-17 19:42:55

In your constituency, it is not yet sure wqhether Libdem or Labour is most likely to take the seat from Alan Duncan.

varian Wed 26-Apr-17 19:46:07

Please do not vote Green unless you want to see the destruction of the United Kingdom. They support the SNP's separatist agenda. Scottish voters will I'm sure be very wary of the Greens from now on.

Having said that I would probably vote for Caroline Lucas in Brighton as I do agree with most of what she says, and she is far better than a Tory in that seat.

durhamjen Wed 26-Apr-17 19:57:34

Greens only got 4.3% at the last election. Libdem lost 17% because of their coalition, but UKIP gained most of it.
I assume this time that Libdems will gain a lot of the remain vote.
Voting Labour will probably not get rid of Alan Duncan, but will give him a smaller majority.
You need to decide whether it's worth voting Green or not. I voted Green when I couldn't bring myself to vote for Blair's Labour party, which seemed a long way from what I thought a socialist party should be.

durhamjen Wed 26-Apr-17 20:00:30

I agree with you, Anya, about the election broadcast. Best one I've seen for a long time.

Anya Wed 26-Apr-17 22:06:29

smile

Teetime Thu 27-Apr-17 09:25:02

Lets be clear their is no contest here it will be Alan Duncan by a landslide. This is the Tory heartland. I wouldn't now vote LibDem after the debacle of the Coalition - I don't think they have got their house in order at all.Interesting though isn't it how differently we perceive things. I thought TB was a very good PM.
I am going to the Green Party meeting on Saturday morning to hear the pitches from their potential candidates and will report back.

POGS Thu 27-Apr-17 09:31:25

I am look at the Green Policies .

Ecological sustainability

EC201 To this end, the Citizens' Income (see EC730) will allow the current dependence on economic growth to cease, and allow zero or negative growth to be feasible without individual hardship should this be necessary on the grounds of sustainability. (see PB104-106)
----

I understand the Green Party want to give everybody a Citizens Income.

What does it mean by saying 'the current dependence on economic growth to cease, and allow zero or negative growth '

How can you hand out money without economic growth and want zero or negative growth.? Somebody who is a Green please help me out.
