What can TM be thinking of?

Sigh and double sigh.

Not content with taking us into an undemocratic referendum when we are all asked to vote on something where no-one could have a clear picture of the options, the conservatives now have a leader who stands and loudly slags off those with whom we need to negotiate for the secure future of the country. All thoroughly irresponsible - it just makes me want to despair.

TM and thinking ...no that doesn't compute .she opens her mouth and comes out with rubbish...Brexit MEANS Brexit,it will be a RED WHITE AND BLUE BREXIT ....and her latest strong leadership nonsense .She reads from a script and she hasn't a clue about what she's dragging us all into. Its OUR children and grandchildren who will have to live with this debacle for years to come. All you tory voters ,please think again and vote for anyone BUT the tories in June ..give TM the elbow ...for the sake of the UK

How true nigglynellie. Bloated Brussels unelected by us bureaucrats on the gravy train, the Kinnocks and Mandelson with their mouths in the trough no wonder don't want it to end. Diane Abbotts and Corbyn sending their children to private schools yet opposing new Grammar schools, OK for their children to receive good education but not the rest of us who can't afford it. Hypocrites the pair of them.

I don't understand the strange logic that suggests anyone who criticises St Theresa automatically correlates with sticking up for Diane Abbott, fat cats etc when they haven't suggested that. Also, this idea that" no deal is better than a bad deal" soundbite ( another one for the drinking game) is a bit of twisted logic. No deal IS a bad deal surely. It doesn't take anyone with half a brain to realise we are going to get a worse deal than the one we have already.

Why?

nigglynellie Thu 04-May-17 13:27:33

Just pointing out the hypocrisy and double thinking of approving of things and people that the far left usually absolutely loathe. No, no one has applauded D.A. but they've certainly made excuses for her lamentable performance. Of course she's a leftwinger, so that makes it ok!

durhamjen Thu 04-May-17 13:29:02

TM is a right winger so you praise everything she does.
You are saying silly things now, niggly.

daphnedill Thu 04-May-17 13:30:14

I don't understand the logic of thinking that everybody will get a good education if new grammar schools are opened either. Approximately 80% most certainly won't get a good education, apart from those who can afford not to send their children to a secondary modern.

By the way, did anybody vote for civil servants or local council officers? There are an awful lot more of them than there are bureaucrats in Brussels.

daphnedill Thu 04-May-17 13:31:23

I don't think TM is up to the job and I haven't made excuses for DA.

ninny Thu 04-May-17 13:31:53

paddyann unlike Sturgeon are you having a laugh.
Suzied you might think we had a good deal but the Referendum result was Leave we are leaving the EU with a deal that suits us or no deal. I have every confidence in Theresa May to do the best for Britain.

GracesGranMK2 Thu 04-May-17 13:33:52

That is simply not true of most people Niggly. You may turn your politics into a religion that brooks no questioning - I don't know - but very few people actually do that.

daphnedill Thu 04-May-17 13:33:57

I'd have more confidence in Noel Edmonds! hmm

durhamjen Thu 04-May-17 13:35:40

That lets you off all criicism, then, daphne. You can now go ahead and say what you like.

GracesGranMK2 Thu 04-May-17 13:35:55

I don't even have confidence in T May ending up pleasing people with your views ninny let alone the UK.

durhamjen Thu 04-May-17 13:36:30

Criticism. My northern accent nearly came out then.

ninny Thu 04-May-17 13:41:05

Who would you prefer in charge then Corbyn or Farron what a fiasco that would be. Simply no comparison.

suzied Thu 04-May-17 13:53:14

When I say we'll have a worse deal than the one we have already - I mean we have 0% trade tariffs with the worlds largest trading block. We aren't going to get a better deal than that when leaving that block. Why should we? If the best deal for the UK is 50% tariffs, no foreigners allowed, and the UK becoming a online gambling tax haven like Gibraltar than I wont be celebrating.

nigglynellie Thu 04-May-17 13:57:17

Don't ninny what an awful thought!! shock I don't criticise TM because there's nothing to criticise. D.C. now that was different and he left plenty to be angry over, but then I now never wanted him as party leader in the first place.

rosesarered Thu 04-May-17 13:57:35

Whatever your flavour of politics, we are leaving the EU and whoever is PM needs to be tough enough to deal with the EU flak coming our way, and it comes down to a straight choice of May or Corbyn.....it has to be May.

daphnedill Thu 04-May-17 14:00:24

Whoever is PM could do with a bit of charm, intelligence and a knowledge of political strategy.

daphnedill Thu 04-May-17 14:02:43

I've just spent five hours this morning in the cold outside a polling booth and have been chatting to our Conservative candidates and others. Maybe it's just this area, but none of them are that impressed with May and have reservations about her ability to get a good deal. They're hoping for a replacement soon.

durhamjen Thu 04-May-17 14:02:45

Not necessarily, roses.
Article 50 allows for a change of mind. I can't see how you have still missed that.

The EU flak comes our way because of May's screeching and squalking. It's time she started to be a bit more statesmanlike and sedate.

durhamjen Thu 04-May-17 14:03:55

Sorry, squawking.

GracesGranMK2 Thu 04-May-17 14:09:01

Who would you prefer in charge then Corbyn or Farron what a fiasco that would be. Simply no comparison.

I would prefer someone who realises we have Parliamentary government not presidential or even, as she appear to want, a dictatorship. I agree we are in a dark place all round. However, that does not mean that choosing someone who likes to think they will be the all powerful leader when they are actually a second rate administrator who has kept their head down and away from anyone who might ask real questions would be a good choice Ninny.

GracesGranMK2 Thu 04-May-17 14:10:05

I don't criticise TM because there's nothing to criticise

She has actually reached cult status. Heaven help us.

GracesGranMK2 Thu 04-May-17 14:11:23

Interesting Daphne.
