That's a bum, can anyone cut and paste or something the manifesto that took me blood sweat and tears to do this morning please!!!???

MaizieD Tue 16-May-17 13:04:12

Wrong 'trisher' Annie It's TriciaF you're responding to.

I'd hate to see another pointless row starting up about who said what to who.

rosesarered Tue 16-May-17 13:29:09

dd I have no idea what you are talking about or what post you are referring to.Having trawled back a bit on here, your usual insults are baffling.

daphnedill Tue 16-May-17 13:32:43

And I haven't a clue what you're going on about either roses.

Your usual insults truly are baffling!

TriciaF Tue 16-May-17 13:35:23

GG2 Apology accepted smile
Annie - I left the party in the early '80s, when I first thought they were starting to lose their way (remember those who left in 1981.)

Anniebach Tue 16-May-17 13:36:02

So sorry I mixed up names

Anniebach Tue 16-May-17 13:41:50

TriciaF, now I understand, yes I know members who left at that time, many came back when .kinnock and then Blair became leaders, now we are back to the seventies . Seems the three day week, strikes etc , power of the unions are forgotten , back to state controlled

rosesarered Tue 16-May-17 13:44:37

23.07.53 your post daphnedil
Since I haven't said any insults your last post doesn't make sense either!
Instead of jumping in with both feet anytime I say anything perhaps you ought to check my posts first.

daphnedill Tue 16-May-17 13:49:55

Errrmmm...the Three Day Week was ordered by a Conservative government to conserve energy. Inflation was out of control as a result of economic mismanagement. The NUM called a strike, because their wages were falling way behind inflation. The government's own pay body reported that the miners had a case.

Hmmm! Baffling! In what way do you consider yourself a socialist?

daphnedill Tue 16-May-17 13:50:55

I did, but I'm not scrolling back pages. Go and pick on somebody else!

Ciao!

rosesarered Tue 16-May-17 13:59:05

Oh the irony! grin

Anniebach Tue 16-May-17 15:52:54

Errrrmm, I was speaking of the seventies , and do save you mental energy wondering why I consider myself a socialist , go google or perhaps you have a student today

Pleased to see that Labour pledged to invest in the phased removal of asbestos from existing schools.

It's about time!

Schools built from the 1940s to 1970s are full of asbestos and teachers are one of the groups classified as at high risk of dying from asbestos-related diseases.

MaizieD Tue 16-May-17 18:07:05

We had so much asbestos removed from our school in the first decade of this century that it's a miracle the building didn't collapse!

I'm amazed that it is still a problem; we had a survey done every time anything, however minor, was done to the fabric of the building. Have these schools with a problem still never had any repairs or alterations done?

daphnedill Tue 16-May-17 20:21:35

Asbestos is still a huge problem in schools.

Praise indeed for Labour manifesto.

Anniebach Tue 16-May-17 22:38:48

Well, I admit this election fills me with fear , I try not to think of those nightmare years under thatcher , surely nothing could be as bad as that again, could it?

MaizieD Tue 16-May-17 22:52:22

Sorry, Annie. I think it could be considerably worse.

Anniebach Tue 16-May-17 23:04:12

Maizie,i have thought of that too.

Anniebach Tue 16-May-17 23:18:44

What is McClusky up to? He has said he doesn't think Corbyn will win and will be lucky to win 200 seats

durhamjen Tue 16-May-17 23:22:32

'The union leader blamed a hostile media for the scale of the task of turning around the leader’s image in the minds of voters, but added that Corbyn would have succeeded even if he won slightly fewer seats than the 229 the party held in the last parliament.'

He's not saying any worse than you do, Annie.

durhamjen Wed 17-May-17 08:04:37

Reasons to vote Labour.

Anniebach Wed 17-May-17 08:30:27

I was ashamed and embarrassed by the Corbyn Panto yesterday . Not a scrape of dignity , far more like one of those tv talent shows than the launch of a political party's manifesto.

Corbyns image is not the fault of the press, they didn't force him to do traingate, to behave like an aged pop star surrounding himself with women, to hide behind s glass door.

I dread a Tory government , I dread the thought of Corbyn as PM. ,

GracesGranMK2 Wed 17-May-17 08:36:48

Now I have had time to think about the manifesto overnight and it certainly offers something different and something where the majority of citizens are taken into account instead of just worrying about big business. Obviously business is important but to get to the stage where we protect business while people die or are destitute and where we don't put the necessary infrastructure in has to be taken into account and, for the first time in some years, I heard a Today programme journalist attacking the Tory's economic record - and it needs attacking and highlighting.

We now have two completely different offerings instead of Conservative and Conservative light so people have a choice. I find the LP offering a little old fashioned when I think of where jobs are going but then the Tories just bury their heads in the sand about the changes so no one is doing very well there.

Interesting times ... we live in interesting times.

Anya Wed 17-May-17 08:55:16

"May you live in interesting times" hmm
