I am seriously getting worried, that that joke Corbyn might end up running he country, which will within months, put a new social policy in place to be paid for by the ones that work, and on their knees knees already, borrowing money, left right and centre, so that llike every labour government in history leave us in massive debts that will increase until, once again the country votes conservative to sort it all out. I probably won't be here it see that happen. I notuce the frugal life style Blair had, an example to all labour voters. He and his very rich family did very well out of it, pity the country didn't, particularly those youngsters sent to Iraq.

Maybot has had another bad day according to PM

Ginny42 Thu 01-Jun-17 17:33:55

Yesterday TM said she was too focused on Brexit to attend the Leadership 'debate'. Today she says she's focused on the election next week.

It's just been reported that she won't be on Womens' Hour tomorrow, she's sending Justine Greening instead.

Ana Thu 01-Jun-17 17:35:44

I thought May was the PM whitewave...confused

Ana Thu 01-Jun-17 17:36:26

And yet only yesterday you were so touchingly concerned about her health...

durhamjen Thu 01-Jun-17 17:42:59

Can Maybots have health problems?

whitewave Thu 01-Jun-17 17:48:26

I thought she looked proper poorly yesterday. Better today, or better makeup. Probably an early night did her good.

It is beginning to get so obvious that she cant deal with anything other than what is preplanned. She is utterly unsuitable to be the leader of this country.

mostlyharmless Thu 01-Jun-17 17:48:58

If Theresa May was so concerned about being prepared for Brexit talks in mid June, surely she wouldn't have called a snap General Election for early June???

Or would she?

I know which Brexit negotiating team I would prefer. Keir Starmer, Emily Thornberry and Barry Gardiner are on a whole different level to David Davis, Liam Fox and dear Boris!

whitewave Thu 01-Jun-17 17:53:39

Yep 2 barristers and a lifetime mp
Against

1 sacked from the Times for falsifying information
1 sacked from the last government
And one who worked for Tate and Lylegrin

Ana Thu 01-Jun-17 18:01:03

All this has been on another thread - is it groundhog day? confused

durhamjen Thu 01-Jun-17 18:01:46

Barry Gardiner on QT tonight.

www.thecanary.co/2017/05/31/labours-barry-gardiner-left-culture-secretary-catching-flies-fcking-hilarious-video/

Excuse the sweary headline.

Jalima1108 Thu 01-Jun-17 18:22:15

Emily Thornberry
all brains and no common sense as the saying goes?

POGS Thu 01-Jun-17 18:34:33

Whitewave

David Davis did work for Tate & Lyle , is that a problem for the inverted snobbery brigade?

David Davis was born to a single mother on a council estate is that another problem too?

He worked his way educationally by going to a grammer school and ended up at Harvard. Another problem for some no doubt for a Tory but a badge of honour if you are a Labour MP. Hypocrites!

He has been a Europe Minister, Party Chairman, Deputy Prime Minister and Shadow Home Secretary during his political career.

But hey let's try and trash him by only saying he worked for Tate & Lyle. The irony there is those who find that point somehow a problem are the same voices who will say they want our MP's to have held jobs outside of politics before coming MP's, hypocrites!

whitewave Thu 01-Jun-17 18:42:59

pogs what on earth are you talking about?! I simply outlined the Brexiters past history. Your remarks are ridiculous. why not rant on about only Davis? What about Johnson sacked for falsifying information, or Fox sacked for his conduct, haven't you got anything to say about that?

Anniebach Thu 01-Jun-17 18:45:40

Jen, you are so cruel, people with diabetes 1 can live an active life , my niece like May injections five times a day , expect you think she should be put down at the vets

Anniebach Thu 01-Jun-17 18:47:55

Worked for Tate & Lyle or supported the IRA,difficult choice I suppose

durhamjen Thu 01-Jun-17 18:48:50

You've lost me there, Annie. Why am I cruel?

whitewave Thu 01-Jun-17 18:55:49

No annie there you go again!! The choice is between 2 people sacked for different reasons and one who worked for Tate and Lyle and 2 barristers and a lifetime MP.

POGS Thu 01-Jun-17 18:58:17

Liam Fox

Has held positions such as:-

Secretary of State for International Trade,
President of the Board of Trade,
Secretary of State for Defence,
Constitutional Affairs Spokesman,
Shadow Health Secretary,
Shadow Foreign Secretary,
Shadow Defence Secretary.

He was a Doctor, a former Civilian Army Medical Officer and Divisional Surgeon with St John Ambulance and a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners.

BUT hey let's make out he is an idiot because he is a Tory MP but had he been a Labour MP he would be a respected , experienced MP.

Like David Davis do you find the fact he had a job before becoming an MP a problem?

I ask because you give the impression by trying to compare both Fox and Davis with the roles of Barristers in the case of Thornberry and Starmer as though they are somewhat deficient in stature to deal with Brexit Negotiations!

I would say anybody who is not politically biased would think they are both very qualified to negotiate within the European Union and business world as they have actually held various roles within those fields.

whitewave Thu 01-Jun-17 19:07:17

pogs
There are degrees of suitability. My point was that as defence barristers, they are used to thinking quickly on their feet and the ability to argue with persuasion is their stock in trade. Imo they will be eminently more suitable compared to those three who to date have shown very little understanding of the intricacies relating to A50.

Methinks thou doth protest too much

I didn't say that they were idiots because they were Tory MPs , but idiots because they had acted idiotically in their past. And imo Johnson has never stopped acting as an idiot.

I could put up links to Barry Gardiner re expenses claims and other 'occurrences' but maybe 'gloating' is not very wise sometimes.

whitewave Thu 01-Jun-17 19:19:13

No gloat away if that is how you operate.

POGS Thu 01-Jun-17 19:23:41

whitewave

" Me thinks thou doth protest too much ".

Funny that.

Me thinks thou doth open thy mouth and then back peddle on what you say.

Nobody was fooled about your intended meaning and you carried on with your view they are idiots .

whitewave Thu 01-Jun-17 19:30:54

I would find your arguments far more persuasive if you could outline why the three Brexiters are more suitable.

GracesGranMK2 Thu 01-Jun-17 19:36:58

I think the one thing that would make me feel the LP would be ahead on the team they are offering is the fact that two of them are Barristers. Barristers understand patience and not shouting your mouth off on street corners. I can't say the same of "The May Team"

durhamjen Thu 01-Jun-17 19:38:40

Put up links to Barry Gardiner, then, POGS.
From what I recall he paid capital gains when he sold the flat.
If he'd rented a flat it would have cost more to the public, wouldn't it?.
