It is 'occurring often' as you seem quite unable to post anything at all which does not include a personal attack. It says a great deal about you.
Strictly after Claudia ...........
This forum should be named as the heading.
It is 'occurring often' as you seem quite unable to post anything at all which does not include a personal attack. It says a great deal about you.
Annie the Labour Party has always accommodated a wide range of beliefs and has fluctuated over the years. When you joined over 50 years ago its policies were far more left wing than those proposed today. When Tony Blair moved to the right and abolished Clause 4 many felt let down but were prepared to compromise. It is such a pity that you don't feel able to do so and persist in undermining the party you profess to care for. As for voting, if you don't believe in Labour don't vote for them. There are other parties. Many of us defected to the Lib Dems or the Greens when the Labour Party took us to war and became too right wing. But we voted and didn't moan about it. No party is a perfect fit and things change.
I didn't say that my name was 'wrong' just that you manage to get it into every other post.
Are you completely loosing it RAR? Your name occurs in a reply to your post - just as everyone else's does. No one comes on and suddenly puts your name in random posts. If it is occurring often presumably you have posted often. I don't know you and, on here, I don't care for what I know so why would I make a point of using your name for no reason. You are either supremely arrogant or paranoid.
Welshwife there are some left wing posters with no doubts at all, come to that.
There will always be some with no doubt, some with a bit of doubt, and some floating voters who decide at the last minute.
I would agree with you that this GE is a hard one for many to decide which way to vote, especially for Labour voters.
The spectrum of political opinion is very wide but anyone who does not have really 'right' views is branded a Leftie - which in many cases is totally wrong. I am really more left of centre than anything else and have voted for each party at various times of my life - for instance when the Labour Party was so dar left it bordered. Russia I could not possibly vote for them. Then when the Tories go too far right that knocks them out for a bit.
I am genuinely interested in why the Tory voters here are so adamant their way is the right one - you seem to have no doubts at all which intrigues me.
This election is genuinely a hard one for many to decide which way to vote as no Leader or party is ideal - just some seeming less bad than others.
Niggly, I was told and I told my daughters and granddaughters - who you vote for is nothing to do with me, what matters is you do vote and now I do not want to,
Not to vote would make me feel guilty too that's why despite being so unsure, I voted in the referendum! I've never not voted in a GE, but have to confess that year's ago I have been known not to vote in local ones, I do now! I shall be glad when it's over!!?!!
So true harrigran, how anyone can deny thst lot are not trots is a mystery , I feel so sorry for the majority of Labour MP's who are genuinely socialist
Niggly, I am at a lost, think I should changed my name from Anniebach to Orphan Annie ?
I have lost some sleep over all this and shed a few tears too, I may not vote which will make me feel guilty. Labour has no chance here and for the first time I am relieved , I couldn't vote for Corbyn , I want to vote for the Labour Party that once was, not this rabble of Corbyn,McDonald , and momentum .
annie, you are so correct when you say that some of us are politically homeless! I too am feeling aghast at the ineptitude of the Conservatives mishandling of this election campaign! My ten year old grandson could have handled it better!! I begin to think both the major parties are as batty as each other!! After D.C., I had hoped for, and thought we would get a more left of centre conservatism; now I'm not so sure!! I shall vote for them simply because the other side imo is unrealistic bordering on dangerous. What a position to be in?!!
Have to agree Annie, not so much 'reds under the bed' more like up there sitting on your chest.
Rigby you are wasted on here, you should be a diplomat.
with all due respect for the member's qualities and entitlement to her political opinions harrigran, diplomacy was not the word which sprang to MY mind.
Very funny though!! The Trump style of diplomacy comes to mind
Rigby have you been taking inspiration from POTUS

That is just it - Matthew Ch. 12 v 30
How can one quote Corbyn and admire him and not be far left? He is far more a communist than a socialist
I shall view it as a sort of twisted fan mail.?
Annie, I didn't say it was an attack. I said it was personal, just like Elegran said my use of roses name ( again, roses) was personal.
Most here are like me,homeless, we are not far left or far right, with the exception of a one time poster who supported UKIP I haven't read any far right posts.
Baffles me that I cannot be a socialist because I dislike and don't trust Corbyn yet he is and always has been a trot , I am not and never have been .
And another thing, I have always been a Labour Party member not as claimed by some - one of those who vote for a party because their parents did. I chose socialism because it is nearest to MY Christian beliefs but I know committed Christians who vote Tory.
Anyway I have always had a suspicion my Mum voted for Jo Grimmond because she rather had a thing for him ?
Haha! I rest my case.
I didn't say that my name was 'wrong' just that you manage to get it into every other post.
I've never seen FAR LEFT opinions on here ,socialist opinions but never far left .There is a world of difference
Roses are Red no one is getting your name wrong - just using its initials.
No one thinks those who agree with Conservative views are 'misguided' but want to know what it is they think the Conservatives are saying and why they think that is a good thing. As I have said, it is incredibly arrogant to think others should be saying "that's OK then, it's RARs opinion so it must be right."
or it just may possibly make anyone who makes derogatory comments against any other posters other than left wing, think again. I shall continue to say what I choose as long as it is within the rules. If I wrote or it just may possibly make anyone who makes derogatory comments against any other posters other than right-wing, think again., it would be equally as relevant or are you suggesting that this is all one sided or, perhaps that left-wingers should just be banned because you don't like your arguments to be explored - perhaps you would have that from society too!
An argument
a) begins with an arguable premise or claim
b) uses facts and evidence
c) is logical and coherent
d) uses references and credits them
That is what many believe - only a few on here seem to think a prejudice is an argument.
This was never a serious discussion. Everyone can join in on GN and that is unlikely to change.
Jen, that wasn't an attack on you, you said it with pride so I just put it forward as an example of a poster who enjoys the disagreements , I didn't say - I think Jen likes the cut and thrust, I quoted what you said.
But roses, don't you remember the devastation after the last GE on here? Some just couldn't believe the result (too much faith in exit polls?) and it took them ages to get back their fighting spirit, but get it back they certainly did!
.....and that also goes for GG as well.
dj it just amazes me how often you manage to get my name ( nice as it is) into every other post.
I think this is quite a healthy thread actually, started by Luckylegs as it shows how some posters feel.Should that be stifled because other posters don't like it?
It's not a thread about a thread anyway.
Perhaps it will go the way Chewbacca described so amusingly ( and it was a funny and accurate description) or it just may possibly make anyone who makes derogatory comments against any other posters other than left wing, think again.
Also, if the Conservatives win yet again at the GE, will it make anyone who is angry about that outcome, pause and think ....this is what people want this time
Rather than thinking that all who voted for them are stupid or misguided.
Surely we ( as a nation) never thought that in the past did we?We accepted democracy in action.
'them to' should be 'them to see' and '(fact)' should be '(fact) and'
