This video shows the reality of life for a disabled person after seven years of a Conservative government (with a little help from the LibDems).

Is she an unusual exception, I wonder?

I am not a bot either and I know my friends on social media and am happy to receive information from the three parties I get it from - I asked for it so I don't see the problem.

I agree Yggdrasil, it is about time the journalists stopped seeing what the Tories say as the status quo and challenge what they are saying.

Ana Fri 02-Jun-17 16:33:28

I think they should challenge what all parties are saying. Why just the Tories?

durhamjen Fri 02-Jun-17 16:34:25

But it's okay for the DM to have headlines like this, is it?

GracesGranMK2 Fri 02-Jun-17 16:43:11

Ana I wasn't suggesting that they only challenge the Tories or even that they challenge Tories if what they are saying is not worth challenging. What I was trying to say was that the media, and the BBC in particular as their remit is to be unbiased, start from a biased point of view because they have absorbed, as many people have, the idea that the Tories state the truth rather than speaking from ideology and that the status quo is the only way a country can run.

If you start from that point of view most of what you say to or about another party will be biased.

The Tories have given up all idea of winning in Wales. Their leader is on holiday in the Canaries.

durhamjen Fri 02-Jun-17 16:49:56

This link looks at all parties and their support for public ownership.

weownit.org.uk/people-vs-politicians

My bias is that I think public ownership is a good thing.

voxpoliticalonline.com/2017/06/02/alleged-conservative-twitter-account-suspended-over-offensive-tweets/

Note the alleged. I wonder if it's true, that it was a Tory twitter account.

Ana Fri 02-Jun-17 17:10:09

Is that as bad as 'bots' posting false messages of support for Corbyn on Twitter? Or is that OK?

whitewave Fri 02-Jun-17 17:13:48

There is a post on mumsnet that says that suggests that May is going to pull out tonight.

What is going on? Has anyone else seen this?

durhamjen Fri 02-Jun-17 17:19:33

It says they've done the sound checks.

www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/15325619.Question_Time_election_special_from_York_tonight/

This is live from the newspaper.
No guarantees that it's not biased, though.
York is a doughnut.
Inner is Labour, outer Tory.

durhamjen Fri 02-Jun-17 17:22:08

Ana, the tories have bought loads of false advertising on google, etc., particularly about the dementia tax.
Is that okay?
Tories have ten times as much to spend as the other parties. Is that alright?

One Tory backer gave them over a million. Is that alright?

durhamjen Fri 02-Jun-17 17:23:50

Two wraparounds in the free newspapers. Is that acceptable?
Not a mention of the local candidate. Is that okay?
Those don't cost peanuts.

durhamjen Fri 02-Jun-17 17:25:00

Maybe Mayhem thinks it's unfair because Corbyn gave a speech in York today.

Ana Fri 02-Jun-17 17:25:15

Yes - bet the other parties are jealous.

durhamjen Fri 02-Jun-17 17:33:43

Gove says MSM is okay to be right wing because the left have skwawkbox and canary!!!!

skwawkbox.org/2017/06/02/gove-says-msm-right-wing-bias-is-ok-because-skwawkbox/

What a silly man.

rosesarered Fri 02-Jun-17 17:34:17

Just read about the bots automated messaging etc.As a couple of posters on here say that May is a robot, perhaps Corbyn isn't real either, and is made up of millions of nanobots. It's a thought! grin

durhamjen Fri 02-Jun-17 17:36:18

Sorry to disappoint, roses. He's a real human.

rosesarered Fri 02-Jun-17 17:38:00

It's a thought.....
I don't now think it is my iPad at fault but this site, whenever I use an apostrophe, I then look at preview, my words are there, then I press post message and the words are run together next to the apostrophe.I would genuinely like to know if this happens to anyone else, and if so, are they using an iPad?

Ana Fri 02-Jun-17 17:38:03

And you know this how, exactly? grin

rosesarered Fri 02-Jun-17 17:39:49

Maybe the whole of Westminster are not real. How would we know?

rosesarered Fri 02-Jun-17 17:43:34

Maybe both Diane Abbott and Boris Johnson have sensible heads that they keep in a cupboard and rarely use.

Anniebach Fri 02-Jun-17 17:53:16

Corbyn is human? so he has slipped off his pedastel and is not the second coming who will save the world

Penstemmon Fri 02-Jun-17 18:08:26

annibach That is not worthy of you. Jeremy Corbyn is a principled man (you may not like his principles) but a human and I believe a kind person and as likely to make mistakes as any of us. I am not sure what your venom against him is baased on but it does not sound thoughtful!

whitewave Fri 02-Jun-17 18:11:16

Thanet Tory charged with fiddling. Why on earth did May accept his candidature?

Ana Fri 02-Jun-17 18:22:35

Er...bcause he's only just been charged?
