Interesting to see the Telegraph using the word 'bloc' when referring to the EU. A bit of subliminal positioning perhaps.

Labour leadership is beginning to recognise the pressure for at the very minimum a soft Brexit. The unions are changing their minds and understand the support that workers get from the EU legislation.

I've noticed that on lots of websites, GracesGran.
I wondered what they were all up to.

This is interesting as far as workers for these agencies are concerned. Wouldn't like to have to make their decisions.

I've just filled in a Labour Party questionnaire giving my views on brexit. I don't think the party understand that a lot of the votes for Corbyn [mine and my daughters definitely] were a tactical vote against this government and an attempt to stop a hard brexit , not a support vote for what seems to be the Labour Party stance on brexit.

Your link @18.00 has no mention of Nigel Farage. As that article is 2yrsold I think we would have heard that NF is under investigation, wishful thinking on your part, dream on.

I think there is still an investigation going on into his party and payment taken from the EU.

Farage IS being investigated.

Yes I have read that Farage is under investigation. Those who happily take money from the tax payer without doing a thing or minimal effort deserve to be investigated for possible fraud. He has taken the piss for year after year. We already know that he has used or side tracked money for purposes other than its correct use.

James Chapman - Daily Mail political editor and was chief of staff for Davis, has announced that Brexit is an absolute disaster, and that all right minded MPs should have the guts to stand up and say so.

Chapman left the Daily Mail to go 'spin' for George Osborne at The Treasury and now works for the globally renowned PR firm Bell Pottinger if I am not mistaken, easy to look up but I can't be bothered.

Ex-political editor. He then worked for Osborne, then Davis.
Now in PR.
He also says Johnson should be jailed for the lies he told, and that there should be another party to oppose Brexit.
Sounds like he's grown up at last.

He was Davis' chief of staff after the George Osborne job.

He's currently a partner at Bel Pottinger (which has come in for some criticism over its activities in, I think, South Africa) and is about to write for The Guardian.

As he spent a year in the DEXEU I think he's pretty well placed to have an informed view of Brexit.

I'm new to Gransnet so this is my first post. I expected there would be a discussion about why people voted to leave the EU and what they hoped for. Instead it's, turned into the usual justification of the remainers that people voted 'leave' because they were too ignorant and illiterate to make an educated decision.

He has been in a position to understand exactly what is happening to the UK and the disaster that is about to occur.

I wonder how Davis is doing with the European citizens living in the U.K.? It will be interesting to see how he tries to spin it.

Brussels suggested that they keep all their existing rights, this of course includes British ex-pats. The freedom to move to another EU country for temporary work is part of this.
Davis isn't happy with much of this being a member of "The Little Englanders"
So I shall watch the spin with interest.
