I thought I would start this thread to enable those who are enthusiastic Brexiters, to educate us Europhiles and show that our worries are silly and uniformed.

We hear so little from you, except to criticise our worries.

We have so many threads about the negative effects why not have one which shows the positive effects that leaving the EU will come about?

MargaretX Tue 15-Aug-17 17:00:12

It seems that this Brexit buisness has shown quite plainly how the Uk is governed- or not governed as the case seems to be. I suspect this has been going on for years but now it has been exposed.
M.Banier is correct to insist that the EU citzens' rights must come first. Even if a young non UK couple have a baby born in the Uk , they nor the baby have any rights to live there. Before, people had a child and their residence was secured.
As M. Banier seems to be repeating himself I wonder whether they discuss this in Number 10.

I think that you are absolutely right margaret our government has totally let us down and appears utterly inadequate, which I suspect has been going on for years.

What we would do without the civil service God only knows.

whitewave Tue 15-Aug-17 17:26:27

I love the idea with the temporary customs union that we can have our cake and eat it!!!

Are they that stupid that they think no one can see through it?

whitewave Tue 15-Aug-17 17:29:16

I think it is all about trying to prove the point of Fox

whitewave Tue 15-Aug-17 18:06:34

I am absolutely appalled that the BBC seems to have only just discovered the details of how the CU works and the implications of leaving. This should have been made clear months and months ago.

I simply can't understand what this government is doing!!!

whitewave Tue 15-Aug-17 18:13:52

The other porkie Davis is putting about is that existing trade deals stay in place post Brexit until the participants decide otherwise.

Not true!!

They all cease the day we leave. We will have no trade deals in existence.

whitewave Tue 15-Aug-17 18:16:56

I keep reading rumours all over the place that Davis is allegedily often drunk. Anyone else heard this?

Ana Tue 15-Aug-17 18:18:37

No.

whitewave Tue 15-Aug-17 18:22:32

ana Oh good then they can't possibly true.

I've also read that Humphreys is good friends with Dacre, and goes on holiday with Davis.
Neil is a drinking companion with Davis

So I guess none of that's true either.
Perhaps you can confirm

Welshwife Tue 15-Aug-17 19:07:11

I saw that all today as well WW. As the source has given his name I thought it more likely to be true.

Maggiemaybe Tue 15-Aug-17 19:12:25

What a ruddy mess. If I were Davis, I'd have certainly taken to the bottle. The BBC News at 6 explanation as to why we need the Customs Union was clear and correct. What a shame it wasn't shown before the referendum. Both DH and I worked in logistics here and in Germany at one time, and the complications we're going to have once we're out of the CU don't bear thinking about.

Jalima1108 Tue 15-Aug-17 19:51:34

Bloody hell, hope he's not trying to keep up with Juncker. That's all we need.

Jalima1108 Tue 15-Aug-17 19:51:51

excuse swearing blush

whitewave Tue 15-Aug-17 19:54:35

grin that may explain the tenure of some of his interviews though

Ana Tue 15-Aug-17 20:04:04

'tenure'?

petra Tue 15-Aug-17 20:17:56

whitewave
Why have you never commented on the rumours concerning Junckers drinking?
Probably because it's all true.

whitewave Tue 15-Aug-17 20:20:42

Haven't I? I thought I hadhmm

Welshwife Tue 15-Aug-17 21:04:03

I thought those rumours about Juncker were shown to be false.

mostlyharmless Tue 15-Aug-17 21:06:17

Well whitewave Davis definitely seems to be unable to take his role seriously. Acts like a (drunken?) school kid in interviews! Heaven help us all......

petra Tue 15-Aug-17 21:07:07

Whitewave
I don't recall you ever uttering one single negative comment on any eu politician or eu policy.
Obviously discounting Nigel Farage.

whitewave Tue 15-Aug-17 21:07:33

Well at least he won't be taking part in the negotiations, unlike Davis.

Welshwife Wed 16-Aug-17 07:55:52

Did you hear the interview with the man from Eire on the Today programme this morning? He said the idea of no border controls -which of course they want- are a smugglers charter. It all sounded an impossible thing to do really. Will be interesting to see how it pans out.

GracesGranMK2 Wed 16-Aug-17 08:58:09

MargaretX, Whitewave, I have to agree about how the country has been run by governments who could always blame the EU. If/when we leave there will be no where to hide but some politicians (Cameron and Osborne spring to mind) seem to have used the UK as their own laboratory and then run pretty fast when everything went wrong. I think they should be prosecuted.

Primrose65 Wed 16-Aug-17 11:29:12

" I think they should be prosecuted."
What for gg? I'm not sure they've broken any laws but happy to be corrected.

petra Wed 16-Aug-17 12:07:29

GracesGran
I think you'll find that the eu has/is being used as a laboratory.
Or not so much a laboratory but a grand plan, have you read what a Polish politician is calling the eu: The 4th Reich.
