EXCLUSIVE: New CCTV footage reveals Jeremy Corbyn told truth about 'Traingate'

I think someone owes Corbyn an apology. It won't happen of course but at least this may balance the story the owners of the news wanted us to hear.

I wish he had chosen first class seats instead of making a prst of himself

What's one of those, Annie?
You would have criticised him whatever he did - as you are now.

nigglynellie Fri 25-Aug-17 18:00:18

Boom boom Annie - poor law amendment - the Whig government of Earl Grey,, not a Tory to be seen!

Ana Fri 25-Aug-17 18:02:53

Should've checked the facts, shouldn't you durhamjen? Slipping...

petra Fri 25-Aug-17 18:05:00

trisher
Corbyn could have got the tube from Westminster to London city airport, 40 mins. Then a flight to Newcastle.

petra Fri 25-Aug-17 18:08:32

Get in there annie grin

durhamjen Fri 25-Aug-17 18:17:54

The whigs weren't socialists, either. They were the liberals of their day.
There were no socialists then.
Why should I have checked the facts? I didn't mention the poor law, it had nothing to do with what the Torties are doing now to those who are jobless, homeless and moneyless.

In fact, Annie should be ashamed of calling herself a socialist and making such comments.
Socialists should be trying to improve the lot of those on benefits - or whose benefits have been stopped, so they commit suicide - instead of trying to score points by sticking up for Tories.

nigglynellie Fri 25-Aug-17 18:18:14

But petra, short haul flights are against his socialist principles, so that's that sensible idea out of the window!!

durhamjen Fri 25-Aug-17 18:44:49

Apart from the fact that it costs another £200 per person to cut off less than an hour travel time?
Doesn't sound very sensible to me. That's excluding the time needed to wait at the airport.
Corbyn does care about climate change, by the way. Petra doesn't.

nigglynellie Fri 25-Aug-17 18:47:21

How on earth do you know that dj?! You really do make ridiculous sweeping statements!!

durhamjen Fri 25-Aug-17 18:51:58

People who advocate inland flying are not bothered about climate change.

trisher Fri 25-Aug-17 18:53:48

Well he could petra -if there were any. But let's suppose there were
Westminster to London City-40 mins.
Airport arrival 45mins before flight departure 45mins.
Flight time 1hr 15min
Newcastle airport to city centre 30mins
Total 3 hr 10s mins without any waiting/walking time.
Train times around 3 hours. So no value really.
still I'm sure you'll think of something.

Anniebach Fri 25-Aug-17 18:54:14

Come off The orange Jen, you said the tories put the poor in the workhouses, we do not have workhouses now so why bring 2017 into it? We had a labour government and workhouses , yes there were no workhouses from 1930 but it was just a change of name to Public Assistance Inststutions.

No way am I ashamed of myself, you as a newbie to the Labour Party are so bloody patronising.

I transcribe workhouse papers for years for a county archives . I have the journals of my g grandfather who was lauded for his work for the poor and letters from Hardie , stop preaching at me , trouble is johnny come lately's think they are experts on the party .

Wake up Jen , you are being fooled by false promises

lemongrove Fri 25-Aug-17 19:12:29

Traingate was a stunt, A STUNT, it would be laughable to think anything else.?
Team Corbyn thought it would be good PR to just have him and them jump on a train with no seats booked to highlight the fact theat you may then need to sit on the floor or on your suitcase. So that's what they did.
Of course he and McDonnell are Communists/Marxists, McD has called himself an old Marxist. We don't need to bury heads in the sand about that, there is enough info on their lives and works in the public realm.

lemongrove Fri 25-Aug-17 19:13:21

They want the railways nationalised, if people hadn't noticed.

durhamjen Fri 25-Aug-17 19:16:56

Of course we want the railways nationalised. So should Annie, but she's forgotten that.

Shorthaul flights and climate change.

They emit 150g of CO2 per passenger kilometre. A one-way journey from London to Manchester (185 miles) emits:

Plane – 63.9kg per passenger if the plane is 70% full, and 44.7kg if the plane is completely full.
Car – based on the average car 19.8kg per person when carrying an average 1.56 people and 7.7kg when carrying a family of four. A fuel-efficient car with an emissions figure of 100g/km produces 11.8kg and 4.6kg respectively.
Train 5.2kg per passenger if the train is 70% full
Coach – 4.3kg per passenger if there are 40 people on the coach.

Five return flights to Manchester in a year would create 639kg: the extra climate impacts would more than double this to at least 1.3 tons.

It is difficult to believe this kind of thing when it is so normal to fly – but with the likelihood of climate change reaching a tipping point and becoming irreversible, we must begin to act. Every step we take is a vote for a better future, and we already have choices. We have to demand the right to ensure our safety.

lemongrove Fri 25-Aug-17 19:19:04

WE durhamjen ? Is that 'we Communists/Marxists' ? ?

durhamjen Fri 25-Aug-17 19:19:08

I'm not a johnnie come lately in the labour party. I was from when I could vote and realised what it was all about.
I just left when I realised that your friend Blair was not a socialist.
Did you back him on NHS privatisation and ending clause 4?

lemongrove Fri 25-Aug-17 19:20:49

I didn't back him at all, since you ask.?

durhamjen Fri 25-Aug-17 19:21:20

That's from the ETA, lemongrove.
I am not a communist. I am not a Marxist.
Obieone used to call me that all the time. She was wrong, too.

durhamjen Fri 25-Aug-17 19:22:36

Read the thread, lemongrove. Who called me a johnnie come lately?
Do try and follow.

lemongrove Fri 25-Aug-17 19:30:17

?ooh, very sorry Miss.

Anniebach Fri 25-Aug-17 19:31:36

Jen, you have no idea how your obsession with Corbyn has turned you into a most unpleasant know-all, unless this is the real you finally free , if so, you certaintly fooled me
