A quote from an article by Nick Cohen in Saturday's (I think) Guardian

My phone isn't letting me do links - sorry! But try googling it if you are interested.

Anniebach Sun 24-Sept-17 10:41:29

Is it causing embarrassment being linked with Corbynites?

whitewave Sun 24-Sept-17 10:46:03

Thanks gg just read the Redwood bit, don't know how I missed all that!

So Redwood is up for a no deal is he? Well he'd better tell that to the civil service, as there no plans for such a scenario.

We will be back to the Cameron situation where there were no plans made for a Brexit vote, and lokkbat the chaos that has presented us with, even though we haven't yet actually left.

durhamjen Sun 24-Sept-17 10:46:13

Most people that Corbyn stands up for couldn't afford a Harley-Davidson.

durhamjen Sun 24-Sept-17 10:48:37

And are getting further and further from the leaving, whitewave, because nobody knows how.
The next big speech will probably give us ten years, instead of the present five.

Love your new word, by the way.

whitewave Sun 24-Sept-17 10:54:46

grin

The civil service is busy covering its back with a recorded paper trail, as it seems to think that the way things are going with this chaotic government is very likely to go tits up, and come the public enquiry it is keen to be shown not at fault.

You can't blame them can you? It must be an absolute nightmare.

Well I think it is judging by the comments from civil service friends!!

durhamjen Sun 24-Sept-17 10:58:34

That's what May gets from wanting to keep everything secretive.
I don't blame the civil service at all for wanting to keep a paper trail. Just make sure they keep copies at home, too!

lemongrove Sun 24-Sept-17 15:59:27

For all the Corbyn fans on here, you do realise that he is a much more dedicated Leave the EU person than Mrs May?
So if anybody is hoping that he will become PM and we will then stay in the EU, they will be sorely disappointed.

whitewave Sun 24-Sept-17 16:03:24

lemon yes

Anniebach Sun 24-Sept-17 16:04:57

He has always wanted out and is no supporter of the single market either

maryeliza54 Sun 24-Sept-17 16:05:35

lemon did you honestly think that anyone interested in politics didn't know that? Honestly? confused

lemongrove Sun 24-Sept-17 16:06:47

Yes.

trisher Sun 24-Sept-17 16:07:38

Isn't it funny how some feel the need to introduce irrelevancies when an argument is making points they can't challenge?

whitewave Sun 24-Sept-17 16:08:10

lemon did you know?

lemongrove Sun 24-Sept-17 16:09:41

Since there is much enthusiasm for Corbyn on the political threads from Remainers I did wonder if they were aware.

GracesGranMK2 Sun 24-Sept-17 16:12:36

She's off on the whatifery again folks.

lemongrove Sun 24-Sept-17 16:15:13

This thread is entitled 'Voting For Jeremy Corbyn, the political equivalent of buying a Harley Davison'
So I don't think that it's actually me that is off on the whatiffery.?

whitewave Sun 24-Sept-17 16:16:27

I assume you didn't know then!! Which I find astounding.

petra Sun 24-Sept-17 16:16:43

It must irk though, knowing that the beloved leader wants what you all hate: to leave the eu.

lemongrove Sun 24-Sept-17 16:18:30

You can assume anything you like whitewave but you would be very wrong.

whitewave Sun 24-Sept-17 16:20:04

lemon Just as you will be if you assumed Corbyn supporters didn't know. Perhaps we are as far up this blind alley as we can possibly go.

durhamjen Sun 24-Sept-17 16:21:10

The thread IS voting for Jeremy Corbyn, though. I doubt whether you have ever done that, lemon.

durhamjen Sun 24-Sept-17 16:22:05

Are they still singing about him, whitewave?

Anniebach Sun 24-Sept-17 16:23:27

There will be sn explanation, as there was when I questioned his refusal to appear on tv debates during the referendum - he wouldn't appear with Cameron because of the bad things cammeron had done , ok to appear with the IRA and Hamas though

petra Sun 24-Sept-17 16:27:43

I think it just needs to be put out there again as some posters like to keep reminding leavers that TM was for remaining.

lemongrove Sun 24-Sept-17 16:27:45

Not everybody who reads the threads will know whitewave many will think that because he says he voted to Remain and those around Corbyn like to bolster up that view, that he may try and turn around our leaving the EU if he ever got into power. He won't do.So, it was worth a mention, so sorry that you and others didn't like me pointing it out ( not sorry really!) ?
