A quote from an article by Nick Cohen in Saturday's (I think) Guardian

My phone isn't letting me do links - sorry! But try googling it if you are interested.

But trisher this issue about not having a vote is all over the news, with EU supporting Labour supporters and many MP's up in arms.So it is a newsworthy and important topic.

Not sure of your point lemon

whitewave Mon 25-Sept-17 10:59:47

Thornberry is talking about human rights - excellent!!

lemongrove Mon 25-Sept-17 11:01:51

I expect you can find out MaizieD about the talk that Corbyn gave to Momentum, but as it was just mentioned on the coverage of the Conference on tv ten mins ago, I accept it happened.

whitewave Mon 25-Sept-17 11:18:51

Labour agreed position

Transitional arrangements -which are now adopted by May.

Remain in single market
Remain in customs union

Rejects a "no deal"

Deal that encompasses customs union and single market
Pragmatic and flexible approach.

whitewave Mon 25-Sept-17 11:19:18

Repeating parrot fashion avoids discussion

lemongrove which raises a point, why isn't the information about the huge hole in Council finances, or the inevitable strikes that will result from the prolonged pay freeze, or the failure of the introduction of Universal Credits "all over the news"? Possibly because the right wing press prefer to focus on publicising debate in the Labour Party and exaggerate it as a "split", rather than bring to the notice of the public the dreadful and appalling results of this government's policies.

Anniebach Mon 25-Sept-17 11:36:36

It is a split party.

First year I am not listenening to the conference , no interest in momentum directed discussions .

MaizieD Mon 25-Sept-17 12:09:24

but as it was just mentioned on the coverage of the Conference on tv ten mins ago, I accept it happened.

I'm perfectly willing to accept that it happened. But did the TV report actually say that ^ Corbyn spouted a lot of Marxist claptrap.^?

I'd be most surprised if that's what was reported but you saw the tv report, not me.

whitewave Mon 25-Sept-17 12:27:21

I'd be interested in knowing what this Marxist claptrap actually was.

I would be surprised as the general opinion is that the Labour Leadership policies are indistinguishable from most of European social democrat policies, and I don't hear people accusing them of spouting Marxist claptrap.

I doubt very much if they would re ognise Marxist claptrap if it hit them in the face!!

Is that why you do it AB? It may avoid discussion but it is very boring. I am on tenterhooks waiting for the next in the series - if memory serves me right it will be a personal attack on Corbyn possible including a train.

whitewave Mon 25-Sept-17 13:55:29

grin

whitewave Mon 25-Sept-17 13:56:55

Just watching a fringe meeting with JC speaking - no Marxist claptrap so far.

durhamjen Mon 25-Sept-17 13:59:55

Talking about trains, though.

whitewave Mon 25-Sept-17 14:02:13

My nephew is there somewhere

durhamjen Mon 25-Sept-17 14:05:41

Is he young, whitewave?
Or Tory young, i.e., under 35?

whitewave Mon 25-Sept-17 14:08:13

26 so quite young with his girl friend.

whitewave Mon 25-Sept-17 14:09:35

He had to get there hours before in order to get in as it only holds about 300 and hundreds were turned away.
