Perhaps rahrah the rest of your posts won’t contain anything directly aimed at Leavers, and you could perhaps allow that many of us possess a few brain cells, that we may have thought long and hard about leaving the EU and were not remotely interested in lost Empires or anything else.

How can anyone possibly be happy with the consequences when nobody has an idea what they will be? No one know the full extent of the carnage 'Brexit' will wreak on the country, even those in charge are now looking for damage limitation. I have yet to hear one positive regarding leaving the EU, with your obvious depth of knowledge and insight maybe you could enlighten me? Otherwise you enforce my opinion that 'Brexit' is like a cult with many Leavers blindly supporting it in the desperate hope that it will magically reform their often very difficult lives. I understand why people were dupped into voting Leave, (which was a game played by Cameron to appease the eurosceptics in his party that sadly backfired) I just feel sad that those expecting the most out of it are the exact people who will suffer most by the outcome.

For all those Remainers disputing that we will not be asked for 100 billion euros to break free, it would seem that just a few days ago Boris Johnson had also heard the same figure being bandied about. (Sterling equivalent is approx £89 BILLION.)

May and the rest of her merry (not) men will send the UK down the river without a paddle. The only reason that we had the referendum was because Cameron was so scared of UKIP taking one or two votes. Brexit will cost the UK Billions of pounds and thousands of jobs. Most of us have had our working lives but I fear for the youngsters.

The figure of 90 billion was mooted by Brussels at the beginning of the process that is one of the reasons there is stalemate at present. Everybody seems to have forgotten what the EU did to Cameron in February 2016 when he had to walk away from the table with nothing....if we continue membership we will always walk away with nothing but fork our 350 million per week at the same time. The rebate we receive does not cover our costs of membership to this eletist federal organisation which I did not vote for at anytime. Personally I would go for NO DEAL with these unelected EU "officials". You can feel the venom from Junker everytime he opens his mouth, not a good way to do business.

It's already made the government think about education and what our young people need and what the country needs.

I had hopes that Cameron would be listened to by the EU and would come away with something good for the UK so there would be no need for a referendum anyway.They were idiots not to concede something and that showed the extent of their arrogance and contempt for the UK that they thought they could steam roller on in the way that they were used to.
Many of us have posted our thoughts on this and why we are glad we are going to be out of the EU pretty soon, and when we have paid our dues and come to a deal with the EU,we can start making trade deals with anyone we want to, and there is no reason we won’t do very well.

Corbyn is just as keen to get out of the EU as May ( probably more keen) because low paid EU workers coming here have kept wages so low for British workers, so although he is doing it for Socialist reasons, nobody should think that if Labour become the government, that Brexit won’t happen.

Yes Lyndie you are right, it has made the government think about all sorts of things, about training doctors, making more training apprenticeships etc.

Absolutely no reason at all we won't do well apart from being out of the EU with no power, no influence and no protection. Hopefully we'll leave with a deal but who knows? What is definite is that we'll leave with a far worse deal than the one we have already. Eventually, probably after many years, we will will start trading, with nations we already trade with but under WTO rules, involving restrictions and heavy tariffs. Taking into consideration our manufacturing industry is 'lean' if not non- existent and we will have lost financial passporting rights, I am keen to know what we will actually be trading. Our NHS will be decimated and probably privatised. With the EU crackdown on tax fraud due to come into operation 1 January 2019 the U.K. will become a tax haven for the rich. So yes, all in all, we've nothing to worry about at all.

Dr Fuchs , Angela Merkel's Vice Chairman mentioned it only this week ( I have heard him say it before) . He said in the interview :-

" There are a lot of payments that need to be made and calculated together,” Fuchs explained. “The figures £100 billion and £60 billion - somewhere between should be the right number.”

There are plenty of, EU politicians/ bureaucrats such as EU Commissioner Gunther Oettinger who have repeatedly spoke of 100 billion Euros as the figure the EU are looking for. They go in high , we go in low and hopefully a compromise deal is realistically struck, it's called negotiation.

Since then there have been plenty of figures bandied about, May offered £20 billion in her Florence speech and commentators recently have speculated that it may be upped to £40 billion. There is a probability that it is likely to end up between £40 & £60 billion (which is a figure more measured commentators have been citing for a few months now) . To continue to use the £89 billion figure as though it is set in stone is just scaremongering/over dramatising. Which is what I was attempting to point out.

It is true that Cameron put out a leaflet saying that the result would be binding (and used public funds to pay for it despite it putting only the view of one side and giving no factual information).

People will have many and different reasons for voting Leave but the assumption that there cannot be any is moronic unless Remain voters are saying that the EU is perfect. If you accept that it is imperfect, as all organisations of that size must be, then for some people those imperfections will be sufficient reasons.
The level and cost of the bureaucracy is staggering. Private Eye (which still sometimes points out the problems with the EU unlike the Guardian) has had some very interesting and detailed articles on the way the CAP works and the level to which millionaire landowners in the UK benefit from the EU.
