Perhaps I'm looking at the 99% of items, not just the few that have shrunk? As the ONS have statistics going back to 2012 on this, how is this anything to do with Brexit?

I've no proof of this but I have read on facebook that Anna Soubry has had death threats again after the Telegraph put her on their front page.

"Ex-Tory minister Anna Soubry says her office has received 13 death threats since a newspaper front page named her as one of 15 "Brexit mutineers".

The pro-EU Remain supporter said the police took the threats seriously and had passed two cases to prosecutors.

I think that now Merkel is severely weakened the tone of the talks will change.
I feel that this situation with the German government (or lack of) is one of the reasons the eu have been dragging out the talks, hoping that the true leader of Europe (Merkel) will have her hand strengthend. But I'm afraid it's not to be.

If Merkel is the 'true leader of Europe' and is on the way out I can't help but feel that whoever replaces her will be a darn sight more dangerous and I find it quite frightening. Still, as long as it helps with our brexit negotiations, who cares?

I think what Merkel has seen is how damaged May is by not having a majority, and doesn't want that. I don't blame her.
Hopefully if she calls another election the non-voters will get out to vote for her.

The point is, because of the situation in Germany Brussels doesn't know which way to turn. Germany says jump and Brussels asks, how high.
And please don't read any anti German feeling into that, I like Germans and Germany very much.
Macron is also fearful of his position in the eu now. Merkel was going to be his number one alie in pushing new reforms through in Europe.

Arlene Foster is getting upset that the Irish border is being used as a bargaining chip.
