Hope this is not “fake news” but relief from the endless speculation.
Good luck to them! ??

In the words of the man upstairs himself;

"It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God"

Note: He didn't say impossible...

gillybob Thu 30-Nov-17 10:23:52

Apologies... should have said in the words of Jesus.

lemongrove Thu 30-Nov-17 13:44:02

He didn’t say impossible, because the eye of the needle was a well known very narrow gateway. tchsmile

lemongrove Thu 30-Nov-17 13:45:44

...and unless I lose weight soon, I wouldn’t fit through it either.

gillybob Thu 30-Nov-17 13:53:35

Yes I looked it up lemon as I though there must've been a real meaning to it.

Apparently you had to unload to fit through the gateway which meant everyone had nothing as they passed through.

Compared to a homeless person we are all wealthy ,

gillybob Thu 30-Nov-17 14:45:31

We are indeed Annie It has been snowing really hard here today in the North East and very cold indeed. I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to be living on the streets. sad

Anniebach Thu 30-Nov-17 17:09:34

My younger daughter just face timed, snowing heavily in Lincolnshire , hope it stays there , just not here please, I don’t want to waste my calories on panic attacks !

gillybob Thu 30-Nov-17 17:28:17

I will keep my fingers crossed for you Annie I hate snow myself (frightened of falling) but will happily have more than our fair share if it stops you from having anything more to worry about. smile

My DH's parents lived in Lincolnshire.

Anniebach Thu 30-Nov-17 17:39:31

Gilly x

If I amy digress a tad here- and without being uncaring - the reaction to snow in the UK, year after year, again and again - as though it has never snowed before - is a really entertaining subject for us who live in central Europe. 3 ft in 2 days, and no-one has batted an eye lid, no bus or train has been late either. Bonne chance (must go out and shovel again...)

Jalima1108 Thu 30-Nov-17 18:33:39

I suppose because we don't get snow and ice every winter because of the Gulf Stream, it is quite exciting (or not) the years we do have it. The gritters and snow ploughs will be out on the main roads but if you live up a country lane you takes your chances!

To get the thread back on track - I wonder if Meghan has seen much snow as she is a Californian girl?

NotTooOld Thu 30-Nov-17 19:16:07

But she's well travelled apparently, Jalima, so I bet she has seen snow. If they get snow at Ken Pal do you reckon she'll be out there snowballing with the Cambridges?

Jalima1108 Thu 30-Nov-17 19:31:50

Balmoral? Hope she's got her thermals ready

merlotgran Thu 30-Nov-17 19:31:57

She lived in Toronto. Plenty of snow there.

Jalima1108 Thu 30-Nov-17 19:33:11

Oh, I didn't know that
that she lived there, I mean, not that there is plenty of snow in Toronto!

Tegan2 Thu 30-Nov-17 21:46:12

I understand their first official engagement will be in Nottingham tomorrow [?]. Harry does some charity work there [I can't remember what it's for] which isn't usually publicised so I wonder if that's why they're going?

Anniebach Thu 30-Nov-17 22:09:59

They don't do Balmoral in winter, it's Sandringham, what's weather like that side of the country ?

Anniebach Thu 30-Nov-17 22:11:21

Tegan, expect it's for A.I.D.S. it's world AIDS Day tomorrow - I think

merlotgran Thu 30-Nov-17 22:16:50

Drier than where you are, Annie grin

gillybob Thu 30-Nov-17 22:23:46

They'll undoubtedly do the regulation photo shoot in some upmarket ski resort or other. They're fond of their designer snow suits and ? sunglasses the young royals.

gillybob Thu 30-Nov-17 22:25:08

It's just work, work, work for them isn't it?

Tegan2 Thu 30-Nov-17 22:25:49

It's something to do with underprivileged children in quite a rough area. He really does just turn up unannounced sometimes.

gillybob Thu 30-Nov-17 22:31:14

I bet he'll bring a big fat cheque with him too Tegan hmm

Anniebach Thu 30-Nov-17 22:44:24

merlotgran, every where is drier than here ?
