jalima the LP is not anti-Semiticshock

It is, as I am anti-Zionist. An entirely different thing.

I do not mean that it is official policy - of course not!

Sorry, I must not be biased in my links, here's another one took me a while to find it:

Correct me if I’m wrong, but are any of them suggesting that a whole minority group should have their rights removed, including the right to be employed, to travel, to have a bank account, or to attend school? Are any of them suggesting that a whole minority group should be deported, or euthanised?

It's clear that some posters on here don't actually know what fascist means. It has nothing to do with ethnic cleansing( although racism is an integral part of the 'nationalistic' element):

a political system based on a very powerful leader, state control, and being extremely proud of country and race, and *in which political opposition is not allowed*

dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/fascism

a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.

www.dictionary.com/browse/fascism

I suggest that some of you educate yourselves:

Here are pages of links:

www.google.co.uk/search?q=fascist+meaning&oq=facscist&aqs=chrome.2.69i57j0l5.8747j0j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

in which political opposition is not allowed

forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism,

Enemies of the People (our independent judiciary)
Crush the saboteurs (MPs legitimately voting in Parliament for what they believe to be in the best interests of the country)
Civil servants accused, (outrageously) of fiddling figures because they oppose Brexit (dear, sweet psuedo-toff JRM only last week)

This is fascism in action in the UK right now and those of you who think it's acceptable are just as complicit as Germans were in the 1930s.

Most of our parents would be utterly astounded, I think.

yep- it seems to fit, sadly.

maddyone Tue 06-Feb-18 22:24:26

Do JRM or Farage or even Trump have complete control? Do they forcibly suppress opposition? Is political opposition not allowed in the UK, specifically suppressed by JRM or Farage? Do JRM or Farage regiment industry or commerce? Of course not, and I am unaware that since the election of Trump (whom I hold no admiration for) that the USA has become a police state.

However I have noticed on a number threads (political) that there are a number of posters who are aggressive in persuit of their particular opinions. I find it distasteful in the extreme.

A ludicrous assertion from you Maizie.

Jalima1108 Tue 06-Feb-18 23:19:57

psuedo-toff
I'm astonished - I thought he was a real toff, not a pretend one.

Well, if we're living in a fascist state then I suggest some posters should be very careful indeed as they could be considered Enemies of the State.
However, relax, I hadn't noticed that we are living on a one-party state as yet.

forcible suppression of opposition which sounds remarkably like Momentum in action.

I don't need to denigrate other people's choices.
Anything else you want to levy at me? Go ahead...make my day.
Silly females.

Gabriella, yes I do and so does OH, and we both voted firmly remain- we have been out of the UK for 9 years- so we have another 6 years of voting rights, thank you.

Your post saying that if I live out of UK, then it is none of my business- was totally wrong and out of order. We still have property there, and visit very often- and will probably be back when we are too old to travel, to be near our daughters, grandchildren family and friends.

Had a full pre op medical yesterday, BP is perfect, thanks.

But don't you dare tell me to 'shut up' - what do you think gives you the right to say so- ever. Tell me you disagree, and tell me why would be even better.

jura2 Wed 07-Feb-18 09:55:23

... and you say you don't need to denigrate others?

jura2 Wed 07-Feb-18 09:58:34

Oh, I forgot- just to help your blood pressure- yes, we get free treatment here as part of the Reciprocal Agreements we have in UK- as we have no income here apart from our UK pensions that we paid for all our working lives - working for the NHS and the state education system. Thank you.
2nd knee replacement in 1 month's time (I do have to pay 10% and the first 300- so about 1000- which is great value thanks).

GNHQ acted quickly there then
