Along with gillybob, glamma and, I think, MissAdventure (?) I'm waiting for a call to say that my daughter has gone into labour. Anyone else got a baby due imminently?
Whilst typing this I just got a text from my foster son to say his 3 months pregnant wife has started bleeding. Oh no!

We shall watch this space for news glamma. smile My daughter went from 3cms to birth in a very short space of time so your daughter-in-law may also find that things accelerate quite quickly.
This morning I woke to a text message from my daughter thanking me for my services as her Doula once again and suggesting we have a repeat in 5 years time!!! My reply was NOT in the affirmative. grin I spoke to her earlier and the little one has a tongue tie that will be cut, probably today. He was feeding quite well, but we know from her last baby that it becomes more of a problem with time so it's best to deal with it sooner rather than later.
How's little Evie doing gilly? Is your daughter able to get rest between feeds?

Its a BOY weighing 9lbs 6oz born at 9.25 this morning GD inlaw also went rather quickly from 5cms to birth with no complications at all,he will be called James Robert and DD and I are off to have first cuddles this evening,I need to uy 2nd size bits and bobs now as first size will be a squeeze I think.

Congrats Glamma!
Welcome to the world James Robert!
Our DGS was 9lb 13ozs, so was straight into size 2 clothes! Fortunately as our DDiL had an enormous bump, and our DS was a huge baby, I held back from buying clothes until the 'birth day'!

Maggiemaybe Wed 02-May-18 12:14:50

My DGS3 was 10lb 4oz. shock There'd been no diagnosis that he'd be a big baby and his brother was only 7lb 2oz. DDIL looked the same size for both pregnancies.

Apparently my DM had been warned she was carrying a small baby and I was 10lb 7oz. blush

Congrats to all - lovely news. 10 lb + seems a bit OTT!!! Glad mine were a bit smaller!

Jalima1108 Thu 03-May-18 15:39:24

10 lb + seems a bit OTT!!! Yes, my poor DD.

gillybob Thu 03-May-18 15:46:50

Huge congratulations Glamma 9lb 6oz wow!

I need to buy 2nd size bits and bobs now as first size will be a squeeze I think

We're having the opposite problem in that our little Evie is swamped in her "New born" baby grows and I've had to buy a few bits in "Tiny baby" size.

glammanana Sat 12-May-18 14:37:19

I'm bumping up this thread as DS1 has just rang to say DIL has just gone into the delivery room he says she is 4cms at moment but being her first it may take a while one never knows ?? so I am house bound waiting for news, the poor girl is absolutely huge and has had to stay downstars this past week I hope she has an easy time she is an older mum at 36 and is very scared poor thing.

Jane10 Sat 12-May-18 15:51:06

Good news and good luck!

Anniebach Sat 12-May-18 16:39:31

I wish all goes well X

gillybob Sat 12-May-18 16:51:46

My DD (at 33) was classed as an older mum too glammanana . She was induced due to pre eclampsia but thankfully both fine now .

I hope your DiL’s Labour is as short as possible and she will be holding her precious baby soon . x

glammanana Sat 12-May-18 17:20:17

gillybob DS1 told me when he rang they had induced labour for the same reason and because she had ot registered enough movement during the last 24 hrs.
I will have the phone next to me for the foreseeable as they don't want anyone else at the hospital.
