Now that time has moved on, but with a long way to go, does anyone regret the way they voted ? And would you still vote the same way if asked to vote again.

Apologies if this has already been discussed, I couldn’t see that it had.

Plenty of people ‘watch’ or as they call it themselves ‘lurk’
On GN or other fora before committing themselves to chat, it’s quite normal.

lemongrove Fri 11-May-18 20:03:05

No Varian the poor old Lib Dems are not going to be involved in any kind of domination.
I still feel sorry for Clegg.

mostlyharmless Fri 11-May-18 20:10:12

Ooh. Creepy. Big Brother is watching us all!

Hello!!

Perhaps we should all own up to our true identities. I am not a little old lady. I am a Daniel Craig look a like with a license to fill GN with subversiveness.

lemongrove Fri 11-May-18 20:36:12

If you would stop filling GN with negative thoughts on Brexit, it would be a good start Daniel!

Bridgeit Fri 11-May-18 20:38:38

That’s a brilliant idea Varian, I’m really a government spy infiltrating GN so that they can gauge the mood of Oldish ladies?

Jalima1108 Fri 11-May-18 20:39:44

Oldish ladies
speak for yourself Bridgeit
Oldish indeed grin

Allygran1 Fri 11-May-18 20:40:22

Varian, that sounds more like it, apart from the Daniel Craig bit.

Jalima1108,How about Nicely matured( like a nice cheese & a bottle of wine ?

Oh yes, do stop, Daniel, because every time someone has a negative thought about Brexit a unicorn dies...

Whereas we know that if everyone thinks positive thoughts with all their might Brexit will be a huge success...

Glass half empty people make all around them miserable,
Especially when there is no need for it (as we are still not out of the EU )and prophecies of doom are pointless at this stage.

NfkDumpling Sat 12-May-18 09:01:26

Quite so lemon.

Joelsnan Sat 12-May-18 09:17:33

Exactly lemongrove

MaizieD Sat 12-May-18 09:26:32

prophecies of doom are pointless at this stage.

Do you even realise how utterly stupid that statement is, lemon?

When would a 'prophecy of doom' be useful? When the 'doom' has burst upon us in all its awful glory, perhaps?

Do you ignore bad weather forecasts because they are 'prophecies of doom' and so quite pointless? Or is there a 'stage' at which they do have a point?

Smileless2012 Sat 12-May-18 10:10:16

But the 'doom' hasn't burst upon us in all it's awful glory has it Mazie and the doom being predicted by remainers is far worse than a weather forecast which for eg was predicting that we'd have heavy rainfall and un seasonally cool temperatures for the entire summer.

lemongrove Sat 12-May-18 10:24:35

Let’s get near the endgame shall we, before all the Cassandras out there start with the doom laden stuff.
Miles too early to predict what future years will look like.

lemongrove Sat 12-May-18 10:25:50

Private Fraser types.....’we’re doomed! we’re all doomed I tell ye!’ grin

lemongrove Sat 12-May-18 10:26:39

Still, enjoy the gloom and misery if you really want to.

MaizieD Sat 12-May-18 10:37:13

But the 'doom' hasn't burst upon us in all it's awful glory has it Mazie

Do Leavers specialise in a collective inability to understand the meaning of the word 'prophecy'?

It's no fecking good 'prophesying' when the doom is already happening. The idea is to forewarn people so that they can take action to avert it. Geddit?

And I have to remind you that Cassandra proved to be absolutely correct in her prophecy.

Joelsnan Sat 12-May-18 11:10:10

I feel it such a shame that so many cannot see this as an opportunity.
There is a good little one minute manager book called 'who stole my cheese' which gives a hood insight into those who embrace change and those who cannot.
Man constantly evolves by meeting obstacles and developing workarounds. If we all stood at the obstacle and said nooooo! We wouldn't be here now.

MaizieD Sat 12-May-18 11:58:23

But man has not been in the habit of deliberately creating their own obstacles.

Joelsnan Sat 12-May-18 12:14:03

But some men and women can see upcoming obstacles on a EU wide basis rather than the parochial basis that many remainders seem to. Rather than constantly looking for doom laden economic predictions for UK. Look at the social, economic conditions of the rest of Europe, the building social unrest, the high levels of unemployment the simmering distrust of the EU, the push towards federalism.
If the union was so strong why are the beaureacrats making UKs exit so difficult? To try to prevent the growing numbers of countries hanging in there by their teeth from from following us out.
Do you want to go down with the ship or launch the lifeboat now?

mostlyharmless Sat 12-May-18 12:27:41

Why do most MPs including Theresa May, majority of House of Lords, most business leaders, nearly all economists, nearly all academics, nearly all scientists, think we should Remain (or at least stay in a Customs Union)?
Are they all deluded? Are they all doomsayers? Even some of the ardent Brexiteers on the right of the Tory party have their doubts now.
Obviously some gransnetters on here know a lot better than the above leaders.
