How many men never returned to their families, or returned with terrible injuries, the bombing raids here killing thousands of people ( a lot of them children) never mind strict rationing ( which incidentally we had plenty of here.)

Jura2, you will understand won't you how you feel about your parents and what they went through during that time you have mentioned. You will therefore understand completely how others living through bombing, their men at war fighting on European soil, some children did not see their Fathers for five years, some men did not come back. You should understand, that disrespect and respect is a two way street. This should be left now.

What has this got to do with Brexit?

I suppose a massive lot ...that we want Europe to be our allies and partners, to work together on all fronts, including security ...and never return to WW1 and WW2, and much worse. So many still consider Germany to be our enemy. We need to unite more than ever in the very dangerous world we live in now.

No lemongrove I’m not too young. My father had a tough war. But the EU has been an important part of maintaining peace in Europe for the last seventy years.
It seems people forget that.

I don’t think anyone forgets that mostly but since it was Germany who started both wars ( not us!) it doesn’t matter that we will soon be out of the EU.
Germany like to be in control, and yes, better that they are in control of the EU than invading other countries.
We will be fine trading with Europe but also going after new markets for the future.
