Did it take place?

First email I received regarding this event tickets £35. Last mail received tickets £10 and free travel to London.

There were 15,000 tickets for sale , according to the Guardian 2,500 were sold. It was to follow the success of Glastonbury last year .

UNITE offered 1,000 free tickets and free travel.

Pop stars due to appear -The Magic Numbers, Hookworms and Rae Morris

This great leader Corbyn has wormed his way out of making a decision. John McDonald is against the third runway at Heathrow, UNITE is for it.

Corbyn has said Labour is against but has given Labour MP’s a free vote.

Such a strong leader . Not.

niggly, anyone who can cock a snoop at colleagues who are in shock and mourning lacks common decency

nigglynellie Sun 24-Jun-18 16:16:00

annie, I agree, there is just something - unpleasant about him, something I've never felt about a potential PM (God forbid!) whichever party they belonged too. It's difficult to describe. A wolf in sheep's clothing?! something sinister?! Let's hope in time he/they will be pushed out and the Labour Party can return to normality, and be fit for government. (and sing the National Anthem!!)

Anniebach Sun 24-Jun-18 15:09:08

niggly, he is a devious man. I fear him being PM

nigglynellie Sun 24-Jun-18 13:53:14

Goodness annie, it's quite amazing how correct you've been in your assessment of J. Corbyn almost from day 1. Even when his motives and allegiances weren't quite so obvious, you saw right through him and his colleagues! I think perhaps we need you for PM! Mind you anyone taking that job would have to be, as my grandson would say, 'A little Crazy'! No offence of course!!?

Anniebach Sun 24-Jun-18 13:10:23

He wants out, he avoided campaigning for the referendum , refused to join tv debates He has always wanted out , just now he is leader to fearful to say so.

Jeremy Corbyn's name was chanted again this weekend by many of those taking part in the huge "Peoples Vote" march in London - but not in a good way. Yet again he has bottled out and was conveniently absent. He is a huge disappointment to so many of his supporters who see him as Theresa May's brexit poodle.

No apology needed, I hope you read niggly’s reply to your question re Lord Lucan

Grandad1943 Wed 20-Jun-18 12:33:24

Many thanks POGS and Kittylestet for the above replies. However, it may well be that something much larger may be going on here, as the secretaries in the office are saying they are finding sites all over the internet that they use are down.

Please accept my apologies for interrupting your thread anniebach, will join thread again later on my tablet, hopefully

kittylester Wed 20-Jun-18 12:07:50

Grandad1943 Wed 20-Jun-18 12:02:14

Apologies for interrupting the topic, but is anyone else having problems with Gransnet mobile site. I can see the topics etc, with some work a rounds but there is no way to reply or start a new/topic.

I am in the office at the moment and site seems OK on Windows but obviously I cannot post on that system, so using gransnet on desktop site using my smartphone but that is somewhat difficult to say the least.

Have reported matter to GNHQ but no reply to problem at present, just an acknowledgement of message sent? However, problem been ongoing since last night.

" I thought it was a good gig "

A fair old treck from Somerset for you . Did you sign up to be a Labour member having experienced the day?

No need to answer the question but I admit to being nosey.

Anniebach Wed 20-Jun-18 08:22:51

But he doesn’t talk to all parties in conflict does he ?

PECS Tue 19-Jun-18 22:57:27

I understand that Corbyn is a jaw jaw man not a war war man. So he believes in talking to all parties in a conflict. It does not have to mean he condones the views/actions of either side but is prepared to try to work towards compromise and resolution. That is hard to do, peacefully, if you only talk to half of those involved.

M0nica Tue 19-Jun-18 22:26:25

This event was before the World Cup started, or at least before England played - and they could have included big screens to pull in the punters.

The fact is both major party's in this country are in a state of complete collapse, divided, incompetent leaders and trying to paper it over and pushing policies that are unrealistic, unfunded and could only be thought up by parties floundering around in the dark.

A plague on both of them.

Eloethan Tue 19-Jun-18 00:56:09

The average age of Conservative members if 72, not 57.

I think I read that the over 65's constitute 49% of Conservative voters.

As to Labour, from a 2016 Yougov survey:

"Labour’s new members aren’t on average much younger than those who were in the party before the general election. The average age of full members has actually nudged up from just under 51 to just over 51. They are similarly well-educated: around six out of ten of Labour’s post-GE2015 members have degrees, which was the same for pre-GE2015 members.

paddyann Mon 18-Jun-18 23:37:27

funny how some view things differently from others..when the SNP conference is sold out year on year with tens of thousands of all ages attending...SNP members think its because we are politically aware and interested in our country. Then we get the MSM view and the unionists view that we are a CULT lead by seperatists who have no interst in their day job .
Its a funny old world ..

Anniebach Mon 18-Jun-18 17:54:29

Can some explain how the Labour Live 2018, the one with tickets reduced by fifteen squid , and 1,000 free tickets from UNITE - in reality has nothing to do with Corbyn?

Anniebach Mon 18-Jun-18 17:49:50

Same for me niggly, not football. ?

nigglynellie Mon 18-Jun-18 17:47:03

Sooner you than me Lg!!! But each to his own!!!?

lemongrove Mon 18-Jun-18 17:25:52

Plenty of football in the Lemongrove household. It seems to be on constantly, either football being played or pundits talking about it.Mr L is entranced.grin

nigglynellie Mon 18-Jun-18 17:18:13

No football in this house thank goodness, not a glimmer of interest to be be seen!
This interest in Lord Lucan?! Well there are one or two schools of thought:- suicide half way across the English channel is one, Botswana is another, murdered by persons unknown is another! More bizarrely, living as a holy man in the Far East is yet another! You can take your choice Grandad!
I would put money on it that David Davis doesn't do gigs, but I could be wrong. He strikes me as more Glynebourne than Glastonbury, (I know the feeling!!) but again I could be wrong!!

lemongrove Mon 18-Jun-18 16:55:48

A bit like your Tory obsession then Grandad especially your JRM one.

If not interested in the thread, why bother to comment I wonder.
