What fantastic news and what a wonderful year for the Queen, two new great grandchildren, a new wife for her grandson Harry, plus the prescious gift of her sight being restored and her husband recovering so well from his hip operation.

I read that the baby was born in Stroud hospital - no fancy maternity units for Zara!

My DD1 was 9lb 3oz too , She is 5' 1" and size 10 now as a 40 something!

DS was that size and is now a 6'4" 40 something. Wouldn't like to think about how much he weighs!

My 2nd baby was 10lb 13oz!! (He's 34 now haha but I still like to brag/moan about the size of him)

DGS was about that size JustALaugh

Apparently I was 9lbs 6ozs but only grew to 5'5"

An old friend of mine had the dubious accolade of giving birth to the largest baby of the year in our local maternity unit. He was 12lb 4oz.

Strangely, neither he nor his older sibling, who had been a mere shrimp at 10lb 8oz, grew up to be notably tall or big.

My 1st son was 6lb 14 at birth, and 18 inches long. He was a month early. He's now 6ft 2, weighs 15 stone.

My 2nd son was 10lb 13, and 23ins long. He's now 5ft 10, and weighs 12st

I wonder what they will call her. I like the fact that Zara and her brother have chosen pretty modern names for their children rather than the traditional ones favoured by some of the other Royals :Savannah, Isla and Mia.
