If there was another EU referendum...

Would those who voted Leave still do so? And why? I am genuinely trying to look outside my Remain bubble, but the logic of Leave still continues to elude me. I am asking Gransnet because apparently older people were most likely to vote to Leave.

Fennel, why don't you take a leaf out of Joelsnan's book, who has continued to debate and discuss at an informative and polite level throughout the little rants going on in-between by you and MD, and me responding wasting my time and boring everyone else.

I have put something up today, so if you want a fight which it seems you do, then why don't we engage using the topic and that would be useful to you and me and maybe others who would like to join in at a sensible level. That's not being bossy, that's Granny advice!!

Alexa Fri 27-Jul-18 14:42:28

Intransigent Brexit supporters can't be influenced by facts or reasoning. They were influenced by Daily Mail polemics to out it crudely. They can be influenced only by different emotive memes that counter those they are at present enthralled by.

MaizieD Fri 27-Jul-18 14:45:08

why in 2013 did DC state that if they were re -elected and he didnt get the changes necessary from the EU, he would ask for a referendum?

Because, Joelsnan, he was trying to stop the haemorrhage of tory voters and tory MPs to UKIP. Most of the country wasn't in the slightest bit interested. As the chart I posted shows.

This complete and utter mess has been caused by internal tory fights; not the 'will of the people'.

Alexa Fri 27-Jul-18 14:45:10

In her original post Pollaidh writes " Brexit logic". This does not exist.

Fennel Fri 27-Jul-18 14:47:22

Ally I'm not a person for a fight, never 'start up ' with anyone. Only like to tease.
To be honest I feel out of my depth on the brexit topics so should leave the floor to you experts.

MaizieD Fri 27-Jul-18 14:48:11

That's not being bossy, that's Granny advice!!

You don't even know you're doing it, do you Ally? Nobody wants your advice.

crystaltipps Fri 27-Jul-18 14:56:07

Sorry didn’t read the long regurgitated posts, suspect it was another rehash, but just to point out yet again that the majority of voters think the government are doing a poor job of Brexit. The 12% or so who think they are doing well must be all on here. Btw “ blame” is not the same as “revenge”.

Intransigent Brexit supporters can't be influenced by facts or reasoning. They were influenced by Daily Mail polemics to out it crudely. They can be influenced only by different emotive memes that counter those they are at present enthralled by

Would you please evidence this statement with hard fact.

Allygran1 Fri 27-Jul-18 17:48:13

Alexa just returned to the thread. Why don't you have a go at providing some facts and engaging in reasoned debate. I would welcome that from you and others as a lot of posters would. Instead of yet another unsubstantiated statement. Another point, please don't generalise, or assume that every one is influenced by just one newspaper, such as the Daily Mail, what about the Express, oh and the Mail and of course the Sun. wink I am sure you would be highly offended if I said you were influenced only by The Guardian.

Allygran1 Fri 27-Jul-18 17:51:48

MD why are you always speaking for others "nobody wants your advice"...how do you know that. Assumptions, arrogance and bossiness. Your doing it again!

lemongrove Fri 27-Jul-18 17:52:22

MaizieD ....,, you just can’t post without being personal, do you imagine it helps your own position regards the EU, I wonder.
So obvious, that having taken against Ally because you don’t like the content of her posts, you go all out to insult the person, not the post.It isn’t working!Give it up.

lemongrove Fri 27-Jul-18 17:54:46

I find most of your posts gnomic Alexa ....care to explain?

Allygran1 Fri 27-Jul-18 18:14:20

Alexa for "Brexit" logic try reading this:

The Independent’s petition calling for the public to have a vote on the final Brexit deal has been signed by more than 225,000 people in just 24 hours.

The Final Say campaign demands the electorate is given a new referendum on Theresa May's exit terms before Britain officially leaves the bloc in March 2019.

Please do.

It is a shame to read your comments re Alygran, Lemongrove, your posts use to be interesting & well informed, now you seem to have become Allygran1s side kick, there is no need for you to speak for her or defend her as she has said herself we are all as nothing to her once she goes off line. Knowledgeable opinions are enjoyable & informative, but blinkered arrogance & self righteous comments expressing that posters are mere meaningless mortals behind a screen shows a very robotic & stunted outlook to the topic , the forum & others opinions Very unpleasant & negates any positives that may have been included, it also puts into doubt the sincerity of the beliefs & opinions presented.

Allygran1 Fri 27-Jul-18 19:33:48

Bridgeit, your will stoop to anything to stop balanced posting won't you. Clearly you do not look at your own post, which is all of the things you accuse me of. You also jump as you are doing now, to influence postings, by attacking not only the poster as with me, and when that does not work you attack those who associate with the postings. This is the typical behaviour of a bully!

So you again contradict yourself, on the one hand when someone supports a poster and treats them as a human being then that is criticised basically to divide and conquer I suspect. Then you accuse me of being robotic and stunted in my outlook and topics because I realise that we are only relating through the internet. So it is wrong if someone is treated with kindness and support, and it is wrong if I realise that I can switch off and the bullies don't enter my life. It seems to me that you would prefer that you push someone into a mental state where they would dwell on your words and what? You have no idea what on line bullying could result in for those who are vulnerable and really believe that what you think about them matters. Is that what you are trying to achieve? It will never work with me Bridgeit. I know exactly where you belong in my life and that is on the other side of this screen. I switch you off and you disappear from my life. I invite you in when I switch on, you don't invade my life.

Do you know when I believe I have posted something that goes against your groups message, it's when you attack, me, then the post, then you try to discredit me as unpleasant and negative and the you doubt my sincerity beliefs and opinions. I would love to say how bloody dare you, you arrogant, nasty, self opinionated and self righteous narrow minded, person, but that would be letting you think you matter to me, and as you realise you don't. Your view of me, what I post, what I believe have no influence on my life at all, nor can you stop me posting. Every time you or your group put up an unsubstantiated post, I will put up as often as I can and if I see them information and fact's on that subject. By the way Bridgeit do you ever post anything other than reprimands?

crystaltipps Fri 27-Jul-18 19:53:10

Bridgeit

Allygran1 Fri 27-Jul-18 19:58:35

You really do not care that you are an online bully do you?
This is not some small thing Bridgeit, it is truly appalling.

Shame on you! It's Friday, and your all demob happy I realise that, so it's be cruel to people day isn't it?

I have used the facility to 'Hide this Discussion' on the games threads.
I don't want to hide this discussion as many of the posts are interesting and useful.
Do you think GNHQ could give us a facility to 'Hide this Poster'??
