What a total embarassment she must be to her party, all this "dancing",is she SO desperate to do a deal with these African leaders that she thinks behaving in a totally UN statesmanlike manner is the way to go? As if the UK isn't enough of a laughing stock worldwide already she's certainly ramping up the joke factor .

*Pen 50*: I plan to be bopping on the tables at my eightieth birthday party.

Things may be different in 20 years' time. Don't take your good fortunes for granted.

Jane10 I agree with you she looked genuinely happy. I know she must have wanted the power to stand for leader, but I think the lady is unfairly maligned , her one failure is she can’t lie and in This age of politics that isn’t seen as a good thing . I think she tries her best in everything and history will judge her, but for goodness sake have some kindness towards her

Bridgeit Sat 01-Sept-18 12:04:50

Someone has now posted a Video on FB of TM split screen with the clip of her next to a clip Mr Bean dancing ?

amt101 Sat 01-Sept-18 12:10:42

Totally agree. If she hadn't danced she'd have been seen as stuffy and whe she"danced" people made rude comments.

Baggs Sat 01-Sept-18 12:11:32

I think Dara O'Briain's attitude is the best.

Baggs Sat 01-Sept-18 12:13:45

For anyone who CBA to click on the link, it's essentially: What happened to "Dance Like No-one's Watching" that everyone pretends to like?

nigglynellie Sat 01-Sept-18 12:26:53

Bridgeit, How predictable!! sad people are just horrible simple as that and No, paddyann, this conservative supporter didn't find her efforts even remotely embarrassing, and I haven't heard of any who did! Probably disappointing but true!

trisher Sat 01-Sept-18 12:31:06

I think the problem is that she obviously doesn't really like dancing and isn't enjoying it. So she is doing it for appearances sake, which is a pity. If it made her happy it would look so much better.

PamelaJ1 Sat 01-Sept-18 12:34:20

What is a PM for?
Criticism of her political position is fair game, that’s her job.
Would some of you prefer the next PM to come straight off the Strictly dance floor??

homefarm Sat 01-Sept-18 12:35:42

I give her brownie points for trying. I certainly wouldn't have tried.

Mads Sat 01-Sept-18 12:37:53

Good on her, could any of you do better? Leave the woman alone. What a critical bunch on here. In fact the country has got terrible in the last few years for criticising and picking on others. Thats Social Media for you I suppose.

Tillybelle Sat 01-Sept-18 12:46:24

paddyann Although I'm not a fan of hers, I thought she was doing well to join in with the good humour and enjoyment of the occasion. Obviously she is not an agile woman and has some stiffness in movement, but I think that her willingness to be part of the festivities none the less showed a very good nature. I am not trying to promote her. In almost every way, I am opposed to what she stands for politically.

knspol Sat 01-Sept-18 13:06:20

Damned if she did etc. I admire her for sticking with the job, let's face it who else would want to be in her position (Corbyn excluded). She became PM at a really dreadful time in history and was on to a loser from the off with almost half the population against what she was mandated to try to achieve . Combine that with the set of disloyal and incompetents in her cabinet and I say, hats off to her.

quizqueen Sat 01-Sept-18 13:46:15

in reply to Ilovecheese's comment:
Mandela WAS imprisoned for terrorist activities. He was part of a violent group which tried to overthrow the state by car bombings, the death of a policeman etc. He also supported foreign dictators and other terrorist leaders. I have no idea why he came to be revered when he was released from prison. He certainly was no saint!

Buddly Sat 01-Sept-18 15:41:25

Should we call it The Brexit Shuffle ? ?

nigglynellie Sat 01-Sept-18 15:44:09

No!

Anniebach Sat 01-Sept-18 15:47:13

Corbyn would go into panic mode if he was to win an election before Brexit is sorted, he would have to get of that wall his bottom seems to be glued to.

Theresa May is a rubbish dancer. She has no natural rhythm. As someone pointed out earlier, she is also a Type 1 diabetic and need insulin injections throughout the day, which have to be balanced with her carbohydrate intake. She will be making checks on her blood sugar levels before any engagement which is likely to take time and involve her increasing her activity levels.

I'd say Theresa May is a lousy dancer, (and knows it) but a jolly good sport, and a fine ambassador to join in and the criticism of her skills is totally unfair. If this is all her opponents can come up with to get at her, I'd say it's quite shameful.

Anniebach Sat 01-Sept-18 16:00:53

I respect and admire Mrs May, if only the Labour Party had such a leader

lemongrove Sat 01-Sept-18 16:02:38

also ironic that it's mainly women who are doing the criticising about dancing, very shallow.Glad to see the majority on here are not joining in with it though. smile

Anniebach Sat 01-Sept-18 16:05:50

It’s called sisterhood - not, lemon

Blinko Sat 01-Sept-18 16:07:18

I say good on her for giving it a go. In a no-win situation like this, she gave it her best shot. Back off, naysayers, and give credit where credit's due.

If we must have a Tory PM (as there's no opposition leader worth the name) who would you rather, TM or that creep Cameron.

Baggs Sat 01-Sept-18 16:18:42

Yes, quizqueen. Even Mandela himself said he had been a terrorist. I think he came to be revered because he changed his approach to a peaceful one in pursuit of what was, after all, a worthy goal, the de-apartheid-ing of South Africa.

Sadly, things now seem to be going backwards.

Anniebach Sat 01-Sept-18 16:52:16

Blinko, Theresa May every time , if only because she doesn’t hug huskies

trisher Sat 01-Sept-18 16:59:44

Sisterhood requires a certain commitment to other women. There are of course women who will not only stand on other women to make their way in life, but will actively give the woman trodden on a good kick,to keep her out of the way. Thatcher was one such woman and May is another. The women they tread on are of course low paid, part timers and women on zero hours contracts.
