Rod Liddle took Labour to the cleaners on Question Time. I fully agree with his assessment.

“I really wish that the people who were taken in by [Labour] and agreed with that, would look to the left beyond the podium and see the rabble with their Palestinian flags and their lanyards sponsored by Hamas, would look to the raft of hypocrites on the Labour front bench. Thornberry, Abbott, Chakrabarti – all of whom don’t want you to send your kids to private schools or selective schools but do so for their kids, and for Corbyn and McDonnell, who have given support and succour to every possible hostile, violent, anti-democratic terrorist regime or organisation they can. IRA, Hamas, Hezbollah, Soviet Union, Cuba, Venezuela.

If you want people like that running your country, vote for Corbyn.”

Hypocrites, liars and supporters of dodgy regimes? Sure we're not talking TORY ? Look at the tories in depth and find out the people they have supported in the past .Anyone who believes the treatment of the Palestinians is right is no better than the Nazi's .Well we know the Tories are right of Attila the Hun sh thats about right ! I'm NOT a labour supporter but really the hypocrisy of tories telling us how awful ANYONE else is is hard to accept.Just listen to that wonderful "christian" woman Mrs May who has destroyed the lives of the poor ,the sick the elderly and vulnerable...who has MORE children in poverty and more suicides and deaths of people due to DWP and then there's the DUP ,what can one say!!! Maybe get some REAL information about hypocrisy before spouting off about the opposition when your own bunch of charlatans could win prizes for it .

Anniebach Fri 28-Sep-18 21:55:24

Unfair Paddyann, you constantly spout off.

lemongrove Fri 28-Sep-18 22:08:30

Paddyann you are the SNP gift that keeps on giving.Daft rants about England, Westminster, evil Tories, Royals, Nazis Attila the Hun etc grin Most of which comes in shouty letters.

lemongrove Fri 28-Sep-18 22:10:15

I missed QT,what a pity.

Anniebach Fri 28-Sep-18 22:21:17

I recorded it when I checked who was on the panel, will watch it tomorrow.

nigglynellie Fri 28-Sep-18 22:21:25

You can get it on catchup lemon, sorry if that sounds bossy as I'm sure you know this!!??
Oh dear Paddyann, the usual predictable rant!!

notanan2 Fri 28-Sep-18 22:24:07

Ah! That didn't take long! Rather than EVER dare hold labour up to a microscope we must always " Look at the tories ".

Not being the Tory party does not give labour a free pass. Sorry.

Labour cannot continue to claim to be decent simply by the default of not being the Tory party

notanan2 Fri 28-Sep-18 22:29:28

If you really want to defend how deplorable labour have become you will have to do better than the tired old chant of "but but but look over THERE at the Torys..."

You are also missjudging your audience if you do that. Plenty of labours biggest critics at the moment are left & centre voters! Calling them Tory supporters for being disappointed/angry at labour just makes you look stupid.

TwiceAsNice Fri 28-Sep-18 22:29:33

Labour couldn't care less about what people think of them they should because they are getting worse. Corbyn is an Ass and a dangerous one at that!

Anniebach Fri 28-Sep-18 22:35:25

Why I refuse to give answers to Corbyn supporters is quite simply, it’s a waste of time. They excuse his wreath laying for Terrorists, refuse to admit Venezuela is a mess, excuse his support for the IRA, excuse his compliment for the anti semetic mural, it was horrific. Claim he speaks to both sides in a conflict yet he attends that wreath laying but refuses and invitation to visit the Israel Holocaust Memorial .
Attended memorial service to a member of the IRA.

Well, from what I read on Google News even the British "red top" newspapers are through gritted teeth acknowledging that the Labour party had a very successful conference. Many of their columnists note that the policies put forward are catching the public imagination in that something very different is now on offer.

In the meantime, Theresa May looks isolated with few political allies as Brexit continues to tear her party and her leadership apart. Even today Boris (The Buffoon) Johnson continues to stab May in the back while pressing for a Canadian Brexit style withdraw agreement which all are pointing out would in no way solve the Irish border issue.

However, even without that, does Johnson believe that the electorate would be willing to see him as Prime Minister when through his incompetence as Home Secretary a British women and mother languishes in an Iranian prison without any knowledge of what her future is to be.

In the meantime, this Conservative government puts out "technical notices" on what a no deal Brexit would mean for Britain that places an ever darker cloud over March 2019 with each release of the documents. In that, we need not worry, for as Jacob Reec Mogg informs us we as a nation can crash out of the EU and all will be right in as little as fifty years. However, in the meantime, JRM moves all his investments and those of his millionaire clients into a country remaining in European Union as he states "those investments will be in a more stable environment over the next few years".

In all the above, the Conservative party has made Britain the laughing stock of Europe and the world in that it convinced many to vote to leave the EU and then it became clear the leave leadership had absolutely no idea how that was to be accomplished or any measure of the problems involved.

To many, the Labour Party may have its problems, but it looks to have a far better grip of the problems facing so many working families in Britain and that of Brexit than this backstabbing, squabbling, self-serving, no idea conservative government.

I would leave it there, Grandad. Don't bother any more with this ridiculous thread.

Liddle is a right wing rabble rouser. He's built his career on it. This thread demonstrates that he succeeds admirably.

PECS Sat 29-Sep-18 00:36:15

Exactly Maizie

There is no shame in waving the Palestinian flag.

lemongrove Sat 29-Sep-18 08:13:09

Haha, predictable replies from the ‘usual suspects’ Corbyn fan club on GN.
Of course the Labour Conference was ‘successful’ it was bursting at the seams with hard left members who delighted in hearing hard left speeches.Whahey! Let’s have a General Strike if we don’t get our way and have a General Election!
This gem from a Labour MP, Laura Smith, which gets an embarrassed Burgon to applaud and the entire floor on their feet applauding.

lemongrove Sat 29-Sep-18 08:14:52

MaizieD grin you sound like a teenager outside a nightclub shouting ‘Leave it Kev, he isn’t worth it’ during a drunken brawl.

lemongrove Sat 29-Sep-18 08:17:28

notanan2 you are spot on, all criticisms are deflected with
‘But look, they are not the Tory Party!’
Not good enough is it?

Anniebach Sat 29-Sep-18 08:21:29

Rod Liddle is a suspended member of The Labour Party

petra Sat 29-Sep-18 08:36:23

leave it Kev I've seen a few of those in my time grin

Anniebach Sat 29-Sep-18 08:52:15

A fourth Labour MP has lost a vote of confidence . Chris Leslie, - not being loyal to Corbyn.

Grandad1943 Sat 29-Sep-18 09:12:30

Is Liddle the opening poster in this thread MaizieD, as I Believe I may recognise him/her from a different forum under another name?

Anniebach Sat 29-Sep-18 09:13:47

Waving the Palestinian flag was cocking a snoop at the Jewish community.

Grandad1943 Sat 29-Sep-18 09:25:24

Anniebach Quote[ A fourth Labour MP has lost a vote of confidence. Chris Leslie, - not being loyal to Corbyn.] End Quote.

And the closet Tories are out again.
He lost a VOTE of no confidence anniebach.

A vote by the constituency party which is known democracy. Many do not recognize that on this forum unless the decision coincides with their views obviously.

trisher Sat 29-Sep-18 10:21:48

If we are allowed to wave a Union Jack , which let's face it is based on the domintion of other countries are the Palestinian people not entitled to wave a Palestinian flag? This condemnation of those who support the Palestinians who speak out against their appalling treatment and the Gaza situation is plainly ridiculous. This attempt to blacken the name of the Labour party smacks of desperation. Rod Liddle is plainly snatching at straws. If it wasn't so pahetic it might be funny.

Anniebach Sat 29-Sep-18 10:47:18

A crime, I made a typing error.

True , some here who keep on and on and on about democracy don’t accept the definition of it.
