I predict.....

Theresa May will lose the vote on Tuesday.

Do you agree?

And then what will happen next........let’s see whose prediction is the closest. Perhaps let this thread run about 2 weeks and see who got it right, or nearly right.

Declare a winner just before Christmas.

Over to you ?

My prediction for PM is a coalition of Grans from this site.

I think Maizie, Miss A and Fennel would be a good combo.

Let's face it, they would be no worse than what is on offer.

Fennel Wed 12-Dec-18 11:46:49

Thanks Oldbatty smile.
I think I'll be the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
About 40 years ago I would have loved that job.

oldbatty Wed 12-Dec-18 13:04:44

You could chat with Macron?

GrannyGravy13 Wed 12-Dec-18 13:23:24

I think she will probably win the vote this evening, my reasoning - Johnson, Gove, Hammond et al do not really want the PM job at the moment. This is just to remind her she is not omnipotent, and if she does win she cannot be challenged for 12 months.

No one wants to be the PM in charge of this almighty mess, whatever the outcome, hard Brexit, TM's deal or whatever else is concocted before 29/3/19.

lemongrove Wed 12-Dec-18 14:42:44

May performed strongly at PMQ’s today so I predict she will be PM for another year.
I hope there is a lovely prize for the best prediction Anja

trisher Wed 12-Dec-18 16:21:12

lemon TM didn't answer a single question. It was probably one of the best displays of obfuscation ever seen,so I suppose if that is what you expect she did well. Some prefer real answers

Framilode Wed 12-Dec-18 16:47:56

Trisher she never learns. I agree with your post. Her non answering irritates the hell out of me.

oldbatty Wed 12-Dec-18 16:49:34

to be fair, she is pretty good at it.

Beammeupscottie Wed 12-Dec-18 16:59:24

The pundits are now predicting she will win tonight but lose the Withdrawal deal in Parliament which will lead to a General Election in January. Guess who will win that? Back to the drawing board?

crystaltipps Wed 12-Dec-18 17:02:42

When M Thatcher won her first vote of no confidence she resigned shortly afterwards as she couldn’t work with the revolting ( in both senses of the word) backstabbers in her cabinet. Something like that might happen.

Beammeupscottie Wed 12-Dec-18 17:40:33

My OH. Staunch old-school Tory but a Remainer, has conceded the Tories are heading for defeat in a GE. They have stuffed themselves.

GabriellaG54 Wed 12-Dec-18 22:11:05

On the 8th Dec at 11:13 I predicted that Mrs May would still be PM next year. That has proved to be true.
Further, I predicted that Brexit will happen. That part has not yet been completed but it will, and I will claim the prize...grin

GabriellaG54 Wed 12-Dec-18 22:41:02

I claimed it days ago lemongrove grin

Re May still being in power this time next year...we will have to defer that prized tin of baked beans until December 2019. I’ll get two in and stockpile (does 2 tins qualify as hoarding?) then at least lemon and GG will have something for next years Christmas Dinner if we get no deal!

GabriellaG54 Thu 13-Dec-18 02:09:29

As a vegetarian and a lover of baked beans (especially Waitrose own brand @ 35p) I welcome that news. grin

GabriellaG54 Thu 13-Dec-18 02:14:46

We...BTW Anja
I am not now known as GG (unless it has 54 attached)
I'm not to be confused with GG 'a bloke from Wigan' who can 'be ignored'. Thanks. smile

GabriellaG54 Thu 13-Dec-18 02:16:01

We blush

GrannyGravy13 Thu 13-Dec-18 08:05:26

GG54, Waitrose own brand baked beans are the best ??

MaizieD Thu 13-Dec-18 08:28:46

...and a lover of baked beans

Oh, so that explains the toxic hot air grin

Most people's attempts to dictate the rules on this forum end in failure. You mostly get what you're given. Just saying...

loopyloo Thu 13-Dec-18 08:47:38

I think she might just get enough ' modifications' to the deal to get the vote passed, by the skin of her teeth.

Anja Thu 13-Dec-18 09:00:24

Let’s admit it, many of those who voted leave wanted to end freedom of labour. Well this ‘deal’ guarantees that.

maryeliza54 Thu 13-Dec-18 09:02:13

Well ll given your powers of prediction .....

Anja Thu 13-Dec-18 09:19:36

Those who voted leave because they didn’t want ‘those bloody foreigners coming over here and stealing our jobs and living on benefits’ (as if it is possible to do both!) are now faced with increased percentage of immigrants from Asian countries.

That won’t plesse them either! ?

Nicenanny3 Thu 13-Dec-18 12:50:15

Anja don't be such a bigot people voted Leave for lots of reasons. Or is it you who only likes the white EU immigrants and not the Asian ones.

lemongrove Thu 13-Dec-18 13:04:46

A whacking great generalisation there Anja for some immigration was not the reason at all.
Furthermore I am very disappointed by the prize for best predictions as I was hoping for a Fortnum and Mason hamper at the very least.
I won’t challenge you GG54 you may enjoy your promised beans on toast, though it seems you have to wait until next December for them.tchgrin
