So reports the Telegraph.

It's breaking news. He is reported as saying UKIP is dead in the water but millions will join a Brexit Party. The way the EU negotiations are shaping up, I imagine all the Leavers consigned to hell by the EU's Donald Tusk will be right behind him.

Hey! Less of that. Leave me out of your comments if all you can do is bait. You're just a trouble maker.

Lily65 Fri 15-Feb-19 17:39:19

It's not bait. You admire the man, I would like to know why. Perhaps you can help educate us.

Leeeeeeve it! She would like nothing better than for you to rise to the bait grin

Oh for Gods sake, can't somebody be curious? I am. I wonder why anybody would like this person. Maybe I am ill informed and there are things I haven't read or understood.

I have never said that I admire the man, so don't attribute to me, words I did not write.
Any more and I will report you.

Your ‘curiosity’ on this thread and some others ‘wishing to be enlightened’ in case you’ve missed something always seems slightly disingenuous to me Lily65

and for the information therein.

There are so many elections now that I do lose track!

Gabrielle G54 thanks so much for putting me right. I did mention on another thread that I have started having a bit of trouble with my spelling.

But all this melts away compared with the cost of HS2. The cost of that has recently doubled to £60 billion. If even half of that was spent improving the current train network and bring back into use some of the network closed by Beeching, we would end up with a more extensive network with far more trains for far more people and far greater environmental advantages than David Cameron's vanity project.
and probably more than that!

Is anyone in favour? Or do we all want improved railways and roads - and NO HS2?

Not bothered about roads at all - there are far too many cars on them anyway, but improving railways would definitely get my vote. A high speed railway would be great, but I agree that HS2 is far too expensive, and saving 20 minutes (I think it is) from the journey between London and Birmingham doesn't seem worth it to anyone, particularly anyone in places where we don't have the luxury of the frequent services available on that journey already!
