signed- but please share and share, and share some more

GrandmaKT Wed 13-Feb-19 10:23:25

Up to 38,315.
I've shared on a local forum, but it has been ignored. People just seem committed to their fate.

oldgoat Wed 13-Feb-19 10:37:25

Signed

SusiQ Wed 13-Feb-19 10:52:54

Definitely signed!

Caledonai14 Wed 13-Feb-19 11:10:50

Signed.

Ginny42 Wed 13-Feb-19 11:52:31

Signing this and any other petitions may just save us leaping off the cliff. We can't afford to be complacent.

It's difficult to know just what TM is actually hoping for. She's prevaricating whilst we hurtle towards the cliff top.

Then I read she's going to resign this summer! How very nice for her and her husband walking off into the sunset. The rich won't go short of anything.

humptydumpty Wed 13-Feb-19 12:06:57

Signed - but with no hope sad

humptydumpty Wed 13-Feb-19 12:07:55

Ginny sounds familiar - 'doing a Cameron'.

trisher Wed 13-Feb-19 12:17:35

Signed and posted on Facebook. Thanks Nonnie

Nonnie Wed 13-Feb-19 12:23:02

Thanks all who have signed. I also sign every one which comes my way.

Just heard inflation is down, I think people are too scared to spend money.

varian Wed 13-Feb-19 15:35:30

I agree that there are probably too many similar anti-brexit petitions but I sign them anyway and forward the link to all like-minded friends.

This country is in a perilous state and we must all do whatever we can to avoid inflicting further damage on future generations by allowing this brexit nonsense to go ahead.

oldgoat Wed 13-Feb-19 15:36:43

OH and a friend on holiday in Laos have signed too

annodomini Wed 13-Feb-19 15:42:50

Signed and shared on FB.

Wheniwasyourage Wed 13-Feb-19 16:46:57

Now on 48,000 plus

GrandmaKT Wed 13-Feb-19 17:43:51

Nearly half way! 49,650 as I type (need 100,000 to be considered for debate in parliament).
I am slightly discouraged that the thread on Cauliflower Cheese has 125 comments compared to 39 on here. Come on Gransnetters!
(Nothing against cauliflower cheese, just sayin...)

oldgoat Wed 13-Feb-19 18:14:02

More than halfway there now!

Ginny42 Thu 14-Feb-19 06:46:12

62,440 signatures at 06.44. The figure was creeping up even in the early hours. As the OP said if you feel strongly please sign.

Ginny42 Thu 14-Feb-19 06:49:25

Done it again sorry, it was 61,440 but it's gone up again since then.

If this Brexit is halted...be warned. It will not be the end of the matter...UKIP (or another version) will rise again...it could be the end of the Conservative party, in fact, it could be the end of our political system, if the wishes of the majority count for so little.

varian Thu 14-Feb-19 07:14:29

Over the last eighteen months only 2 polls have shown a majority for leave whilst 34 polls have sbown a Remain majority.

The majority have been ignored far too long. This brexit nonsense has done enough damage and should be stopped.

If that leads to the break up of the Tory and Labour parties and a new political system, then we could have a better future.

Framilode Thu 14-Feb-19 07:47:50

Done. Nearly 65,000

andycameron69 Thu 14-Feb-19 09:10:54

ridiculous nonsense. pass

Brexit cannot be stopped, it is enshrined in law...

great news

no deal, out we go. leave means leave totally.

love this forum x

GrandmaKT Thu 14-Feb-19 09:37:07

Agree with Varian. It is obvious that the current political system is not working; time for a change Brexit or no Brexit.

Article 50 can be repealed Andy.

The European Court of Justice ruled back in December that the UK could revoke Article 50 unilaterally.

In addition, if Article 50 is revoked, the UK could remain in the EU under the current terms of its membership, judges ruled.

This would allow the UK to keep its rebate on EU budget contributions, continue to opt-out of justice and home affairs legislation, and remain outside of the passport-free Schengen area and the euro single currency.

andycameron69 Thu 14-Feb-19 09:52:00

not true

all made up nonsense

Caledonai14 Thu 14-Feb-19 10:42:43

It's at 65,772. Keep going. 100,000 means it has to be debated in Parliament.
