My advice would be to ignore any posters GG13 who attempt to derail this wonderful PRO BREXIT forum!
Obviously we Leavers cannot stop any negative posts that might pop up .... but we CAN ignore them!

Any fellow Leavers who would like to use this thread to post GOOD NEWS (away from Remainer doom & gloom)?
How about this for starters:
Norway’s $1 trillion (£753 billion) sovereign wealth fund – among the world’s most respected investors – has just confirmed it will boost its UK holdings. “Over time, our UK allocation will increase,” said Yngve Slyngstad, the Norwegian Fund’s CEO. “With our 30-year-plus time horizon, current political discussions don’t change our view,” he added, reaffirming his commitment to Britain even in the case of a no-deal Brexit.
This kind of clear-sighted, grown-up analysis contrasts starkly with the endless doom-mongering we get from subsidy-hungry politicos at the CBI. It’s precisely because Britain will thrive after Brexit that we attracted record foreign direct investment last year, beating the US, with only China attracting more. Even British start-ups raised almost £8 billion in venture capital during 2018 – some 70 per cent more than their French and German counterparts.
Boeing has opened its first manufacturing plant in Europe – in Sheffield. Technology-driven investment is piling in – not just to London but to Manchester and the North-East too. And, as Brexit-bashing stories about planes not flying are trumped by reality, investors from China to the Middle East are flocking to a country just judged by Forbes magazine as the “best place in the world to do business” for the second year in a row.
Yes, overseas investors are taking advantage of the weaker pound, which makes UK assets look attractive. But that’s how exchange rates work – which is why Europe’s monetary union is so crippling for many of its members.
Sorry for the long post but I’m not keen on links!

We could all be categorised as flaunting our wealth, when compared to the poverty around the world , so I think your statement was a little bit harsh, Crystaltips.
gg You mentioned “turning left” indicating you aren’t in economy.
On one plane at least I've turned right into Business Class.
then walked through it into Economy before anyone accuses me of flaunting my considerable wealth!
It was amazing to see families each with three or four little children in Business, settling into their beds.
Grown up analysis of Leavers ? Hmm rather patronising & dangerous Urmstongran, the arguments aired on Media sites , newspapers , TV etc by some Leavers has been anything but Grown up , rather more arrogant & blinkered methinks?
Urmstongran I am fine with being ridiculed. As a leave voter on gransnett you have to acquire a thick skin!!!
Hope you have a nice relaxing Sunday,we are going out for a late lunch a nice English Roast served in a Portuguese Restaurant which is owned by a lovely Latvian family.
I am not in anyway anti European just against the UK becoming a Federal State of Europe once the Lisbon Treaty comes to full fruition.
Have to agree with you on that GG13❗️
We’ve had our little apartment in Malaga for 15y now and have made lots of Spanish friends - some of whom actually admire us and wish they could exit the E.U. Not everyone thinks it’s wonderful.
My parents lived down the coast from Malaga, as did my sister and I. Love that part of Spain, it is not all English Breakfasts and Irish Bars ( they are around in the tourist areas though).
We used to drive up to Al Hambra, and stop at Rio Frio on the way home for supper. Or go the other way to Rhonda such beautiful vistas and friendly people. A quick car journey and you can be in the "campo" - Oh dear now I am melancholy for ??
Just to clarify .... by ‘admire us’ I meant the British people.
Not us personally!
?
I've enjoyed reading all the posts here and YES! it's lovely to read the optimistic reviews! I do wish that the media, especially the BBC, would report 'good news stories' about Brexit, but they seem fixated on bad news. (A conspiracy led by the majority of Remainers in the Government ...?
)
Accept May's deal ...? Who the hell knows what's in it! I certainly don't. All we hear about is the Irish Backstop! Think I'd rather we left without a deal, and save our 39 billion! And it's not 'Falling off a cliff edge', or 'Crashing out'. It's walking away with our dignity intact. Just
But what a mess this Government (and Parliament as a whole) have made of it! And, despite my 'smiley face' (above) I really cannot help but wonder if there is some hidden agenda behind all this farce!
Get the champagne ready (I already have done) been hanging onto a bottle since Christmas,???
Its strange how leavers think the BBC biased in favour of remainers, whereas many remainers call it the Brexit Broadcasting Corporation they have Nigel Farage, Jacob Tres Smugg et al on so frequently.
I also find the celebratory jibes of leavers rather strange since they are celebrating the deep divisions in the country, the political crisis and the disarray that is our democracy. As everyone is talking about their holidays, I will be visiting my Italian family ( going Easyjet so no drinks on board) and will be enjoying a prossecco and a gelato on the piazza, with everyone commiserating with me because of the mess our country is in. No-one will be envious.
I don’t think the BBC is biased on Brexit, pretty even handed really.
We will be celebrating that we are out of the EU and not because of any divisions in the country, in any case they will heal as we move on.
They are not jibes btw just an expression of relief.
Many in Italy would like to quit the EU, also some other countries, we are not alone in that!
Hi lindyloo fellow Brexiteer!
There are more of us than is at first apparent on GN and it’ll be good to be able to read some more positive news about Brexit - especially this month!
There are the right wingers who wish to go back to the Mussolini days, but the League-5Star coalition want to remain in the EU (and get more support from them), the Northern states are very supportive of the EU ( and they are the wealthier part of the country).
You might get better engagement suzied for deeper discussion if you post on a different thread on Brexit (there are plenty of others).
Most of us on here are sharing the GOOD NEWS about leaving the E.U. at the end of this month. ??
Lets face it all the Brexit threads eventually merge into one. You won't have much success at keeping this purely for good news, however hard you try, as , lets face it, its all a bit of a political mess at the moment and no amount of pretending its all marvellous will gloss over the cracks. Someone earlier on thought buying a cheap garment from Primark was good news for some reason, so surely inconsistencies need pointing out.
This is without a doubt one of the most depressing threads I've ever seen on GN. The OP put out a plea for good news about brexit- and after 7 pages she and her brexitty chums have proved conclusively that there is no good news about brexit.
Their version of good news seems to consist of gloating that they narrowly won a crooked referendum in 2016, they are expecting brexit to happen this month and they will be celebrating with champagne and luxury travel.
Nothing good has happened thanks to their foolish vote and nothing ever will.
Well not this one !
If we (politely) ignore the non relevant posts this GOOD NEWS forum won’t end up full of negativity (like all the other Brexit threads).
Us Leavers are enjoying our bubble of excitement. We are entitled to it. We voted and the majority at the time (I’m not getting drawn, no way!) voted the same way. We are nearly there. Woohoo!
I don't think I'll bother reading the past 7 pages even though [from the bits I've seen] it does seem spend most of the time going on about how humorous it is. And I'm still worrying about what might happen to Ireland and the fact that my daughter is now contemplating emigrating [something she never considered 3 years ag]. What fun. I have a pretty black sense of humour, but, alas, it isn't that black.
As Bradley would say, leeeeevit
Or, as my OH would say "steady the buffs"
Honestly I totally understand and commiserate why those who voted Remain find this thread utterly depressing or upsetting.
I get it.
But that’s why it’s NOT FOR YOU!! It’s for us.
And WE are happy with it.
petra ??
this is the most fabulous thread on gransnet and I thank all super great Leavers.
We have much to be proud of and to be happy and optimistic for sure.
I feel so relieved to have this thread. Thanks so much
